All in the south of the country

Well thats mainly where it started. The rest of us perhaps a week behind and Scotland maybe two weeks.

Pretty much.   Two london boroughs and three on the essex/herts metropolitan fringe. Lockdown was the same for all so what is driving this regionalisation ?

I assume it was influenced by pockets of the outbreak which started in London and Hampshire I reckon because these areas had the biggest concentrations early on (possibly linked to tourists from ski breaks in Italy). Yet, that is an assumption.

Makes you wonder if Gupta is right and many have residual immunity due to other coronavirus's. Is it gradually running out of susceptibles?

Harries lying through her teeth tonight. Schapps sent out to talk about Transport, which was a nice segway.

So if it is just guidance, will all the fines be returned?

I am not so stupid as to do anything silly but I am furious enough to wish I was and travel around in our motorhome. We would be staying in the same property after all.

I was wondering  something along these lines.  There are two types of authority on that list those far from the action (Torbay, East Lindsay etc) and those next to it (Sutton, Epsom etc)

The fact that that there were more infections at lockdown should surely mean it takes longer to clear yet those on the second list cast some doubt over this unless immunity is coming into play?

Islington is an interesting one.

Probably peaked before lockdown and like neighbouring boroughs has very low returns for the whole of May

Havant is pretty near me, Chichester and Worthing a bit further away.

Although, I live just outside, Portsmouth itself is, of course, very densely populated so is probably one of the more at risk areas.

(Note to Bill - I know I do actually live somewhere near West Runton but sometimes I imagine I live in Hampshire for some reason 😉)

An unelected person in his job. One, considering everything that has gone wrong since 31 January, that he isn't doing very well.

Get it right Dom or you can take two weeks notice

Ther fact that some appear not to get it even with lots of exposure (Italian Ski Chalet, DiamondPrincess) certainly points in that direction. Only time will tell.

Must be difficult keeping track. Do you have a rota system like Van Wick?

I havant the slightest idea what the West Runton connection is, other than hand crank is supposed to visit the beach there

as to your neck of the woods I played Havant Tarts Centre a number if times.... when it used to have the Comedy Club (Fri night) in the foyer...even Pompey (Fri) when there used to be a disco afterwards.... happy days

and like others on here I did have a stage name

back a bit earlier than I thought as I had gone out to see if I could photo some unusually face masks, more chance of seeing someone in a father xmas outfit.... or even Johnson, who seems to have gone into hiding, yet again

so could everyone on here check their fridge

otherwise, toodle pip old bigots

do keep ranting and tugging at that forelock....you will get rewarded for your toadying... I'm sure 😆

Not going to reply to the lie you posted about me earlier then or the one posted a few weeks back that you have ignored also ?

To think you have the front to accuse others of lying.

It seems the Government are determined to die on this hill.. No 10 official statement includes:

“ At no stage was he or his family spoken to by the police on this matter ... “

“ His actions were in compliance with Coronavirus guidelines “

Just wait for the newspapers and Starmer to dissect those two lies ...

... usually this kind of circle the wagons defense precursors a bigger scandal, but there will be time for that. Cummings and / or a Minister should step down / be fired right now, this is an existential threat to the Government’s moral authority. If you lose that you are a just another police state

I'm going to disagree with you there Ricardo.

One thing I've learned about the great British public is that they have very short memories.

Assuming we get through all this in a couple of months time, most people will have moved on to planning a holiday or be busy trying to find/keep a job etc.

Unless there is a proper independent enquiry (and possible criminal charges) which cause the resignations of senior members of the Government - the British people will have moved on, probably sad - but thats the way it is.

Cummings trip will have been completely forgotten about, might be raised a couple of times by the opposition but it will be seen as such a minor event by most that they won't care.

You can decide for yourself whether that is an indictment of the people of Gt. Britain

You are missing the point. If Cummings survives he will continue to be an easy target for the opposition. The problems he presents go beyond this arrogant error of judgement into a whole host of other areas.

I wonder if the Guardian and Mirror have a bit more of the story 'up their sleeves' for tomorrows 'exclusives' and headlines!

You esentially accused me of being Van Wink and suggested I might have visited the beach at West Runton one day.

I haven't a clue what you are trying to say in the rest of you post.

In which case the bet stays live.

I've heard that they have been pressing the government on this story for 6 weeks, with no reply, a stonewalling. And then the police have made their view known. So, hence it is now exposed.

6 weeks is a long while to hold onto a story!

No, I'm not missing the point.

So, he can be an easy target - and absolutely rightly so, in my opinion he has clearly f*cked up and should take the appropriate action.

The point I was making is that in a couple of months time a huge swathe of the British population won't care.

That may be true about the wider population but I'm less convinced than you.... politically it will remain very close. Don't forget that these are not normal times with 'normal' scandals...in this instance, it is the whole country that has been affected by lockdown. Just check Twitter as one example, it's not just the general public feeling insulted, but celebrities with huge followings, large swathes of the more serious media etc. I think this will have a long drawn out fallout ...and Starmer will work away at it in his time.

I think it's called good journalistic practice - or how to sell (even more) papers - and nothing like setting a trap for the arrogant to fall head over heels into.

I do hope all the facts are out already and scrupulously truthful?

I actually think your bet is safe. It's just a question of when not if.

Also the Sky man nailed Shapps easily - why go to Durham and live with your wife and child in a house (isolated) when you could (and should of) done exactly the same at your home in London? Then we also have the police 'story'. Hmm. Wonder if he'll be escorted out of No. 10 by police guard in due course ? He knows the drill. Karma.

Yes, and so he should sonyc, I have been pretty impressed by his performance so far.

I still think though that if it was announced yesterday that Cummings was the living reincarnation of King Herod, he would be entirely forgiven if it turned out in a months time that he had persuaded the Government to reopen the pubs.

I know I'm a cynic at times   🙂

Anybody who caught the virus in Durham or thereabouts will be wondering....

This can and will run and run. Cummings has made too many enemies even in the Tory party who will quietly be shrieking with laughter at the fool.
