Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 2

Recommended Posts

I was really pleased to see 51 PUPs making selections last weekend.

Fantastic stuff! Ray would be so proud of what we have all achieved together. So

welcome all PUPs old and new to week two of our Rays Funds season. This week we

have Lake District Canary in charge of the six match accumulator and making the

final selections. Lakey is a great supporter of our threads and all our efforts

to raise funds for the CSF. He always steps up to the plate when there are

pledges to be made and really took to our threads last season where he made

21/32 correct picks and finished the season in profit. I’ve been looking

forward to his first go at the final selections all summer so let’s hope this

week is easier than last where the results were some of the strangest I can

remember.

We have a previous winner in Wes Hooly Fan making this week’s match bet

selection. Wes already has his name proudly displayed on Ray’s signature having

won with his match bet selections last March and I think he has every chance of

following up Crabby’s great win last weekend. You have a tenner top spend Wes

Hooly. It’s entirely up to you how you split the money. It can anything from

one bet for a tenner to ten one pound bets made either from the PUPs

suggestions or of your own.

Lakey and Wes Hooly will need all our help if they’re to add to the

presentation pot this weekend. So let’s give them our very best selections from

the Bet365 or Bill Hill lists and for the accumulator the matches must be

played Sat/Sun/Mon this weekend.

Here’s the rota for September’s final six. Please could you confirm with

your selections: -

Sep  5th -

Parma Ham''s gone mouldy

Sep 12th - Yellowfuture

Sep 19th – Bor Bor

Bor

Sep 26th – Trent

Canary

And for the Norwich games : -

Sep 12th – Molly

Windley

Sep 19th – 93vintage

Sep 26th – ClareW

Now next Wednesday the 19th our newly formed NCFSC are

holding their first ever event, a fan’s forum, in the Top of the Terrace at Carrow

Road, doors open 6:45 for 7:30. The event will be hosted by a club legend and

and there will be three current first team players to answer questions and join

in discussions about all things green and yellow. Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for under 16''s (to

be accompanied by an adult) which includes a free raffle ticket for each

person to give you a chance to win the star prize which is a new ncfc home

shirt signed by this seasons squad. There will also be another raffle on the

night with some great prizes where all profit will go the the CSF.
Our very own Cityangel and ClareW have put in a

lot of work to get this venture off the ground and I’m hoping the forum will be

the success they deserve it to be.

Ill hand the thread over to LDC

and WHF now. Remember theres no pressure

because we are all going to be doing our best to help you to success. We all

stand together with the single aim of raising money for the Community Sports

Foundation.

Good luck all you PUPs... Take it away Colin and Wes Hooly ... the thread

is yours.......[:)].......

This week I have a sneaky suspicion that:
QPR vs Cardiff will result in a home win at a reasonable looking 11/10.
For the NCFC bet - I quite fancy Norwich to win and Both Teams To Score which is available at 11/2 on Bet365.
Good Luck one and all!!

After last weeks disastrous start to the season (thanks Everton!!), I''m heading for Swedens top flight this week with

IFK Goteburg v BK Hacken - Home Win

IFK are top, 6-2-1 16-3 at home, Hacken are mid table, 3-2-4 9-9 away.

For the match bet, HT/FT Draw/Draw looks decent at 15/4.

Best of luck LDC, Wes Hooly Fan and all you PUPs.

Thanks for the intro, Nutty. Chuffed to be picked and I''m really looking forward to the challenge.    I''m not that up on the foreign leagues folks, but will appreciate all your selections home or abroad and will consider and study every single one and hopefully the ones I pick will come through for us.   So lets have those picks and good luck to one and all! Thanks Tilly. Just to say that you PUPs have been great sending in the tenners again this year.  I''mk sure we will end up with enough for the season once again. But remember this isn''t pay to play. Those who can afford it send a tenner but it''s not a requirement. What we need is loads of options for the PUPs in the hotseats.

Good luck LDC & WHF - think we''ll need it again this week.

I''m going for a Watford-WBA draw at 23/10.

For the Norwich game (and as I''m planning to be there) I''m going for a 2-1 away win at 10-1. Here''s hoping, anyway ....

Well, I''ll look to keep myself up near the top as long as possible - if so as much to simply annoy Tilly!

My pick this week is not too dissimilar for the very successful last.

Wycombe face promoted newcomers Barnet who lost on the opening weekend to Leyton Orient. I firmly believe that Wycombe will finish above Leyton come the end of the season and indeed have a better squad, so despite being away to Barnet should win comfortably.

Odds are 13/8

Eddie, how are the selectors for the final six chosen? I thought it was based on last season''s league table, but as I''m not on the September rota I guess that isn''t the case. Just wondering when I might expect my first crack at it.For my pick this week I''m again walking the first-weekend tightrope, and again picking an away win, although this time in the Turkish Super Lig. Last season''s champions Galatasaray are a surprising 11/10 to win at Sivasspor, who only just avoided the drop last season. Originally I thought these odds might be longer due to midweek commitments in Europe, but Galatasaray qualify automatically for the CL group stages as champions, so have no continental concerns. Seems like excellent value to me.For the match bet, whack a full tenner on us to win at 2/1. Believe.

Can I have PSG v GFC Ajaccio HOME win this week please..

For the Norwich bet and after all of the cruel injustices of last week (I''m not at all still bitter...!) I fancy Bassong to score in a one nil away win.

Good luck LDC and Wes Hooly, and of course all pups.

Wolfie - Although the Champion traditionally gets the first week and the

Fab40 select the 40 weeks it''s not done in any order. Having the Champion select

the first week got me out of an awkward hole really. Because I always felt

guilty for choosing someone for such a difficult week. I have a blank rota

(apart from one week) from 3rd October onwards. So pick your week buddy [:)] [Y]

I ll stick in the championship as I do and go for Forest to beat Rotherham

[/quote]Thanks Eddie – makes sense! In that case, I''ll give the international weekend (10th October) a wide berth. Might I perhaps have a go at the weekend of 31st October? I''ll try not to get spooked... [:)]Thanks also to Purple for his feedback.

Draw No Bet Sunderland to win: 8/11 @ Bet365I''d favour a narrow home win or a 0-0/1-1 in a cagey match, neither side

wanting to lose after both lost their opening matches. Sunderland seem to have the advantage if it''s a game of pouncing on defensive mistakes.Norwich have been slow starters in the

PL in terms of getting a first win, so I''d not bet on this happening just yet, especially in an away match. The bet wins if Sunderland win, a draw sees us get our stake back.

Derby vs Charlton - Double Chance Charlton to win or draw: 7/5Charlton are owned by a Belgian who also owns Standard Liege and are very much flying under the radar. They had a good start last season, bought very well and have a fairly experienced manager (whose last club was Standard Liege). Overall the club seems to be operating in a similar way to Watford.Derby by contrast have appointed a coach with no management experience and have a hangover from a poor run-in to last season. A 0-0 draw at Bolton saw them lose Will Hughes for the next 6+ months with a cruciate injury. A midweek cup exit to L2 Portsmouth added to their woes. This is an underdog bet against favourites who are on a downer. At some bookies Charlton are 11/2 to win and 10/3 to draw. A draw wouldn''t be a bad punt, but the odds are favourable enough to bet on either outcome.
