Didn't Huddersfield cut back on their Academy from Category 2 to Category 4, which puts more emphasis on the older age groups? In other words they want somebody else to do the investing at the younger age range. Wasn't this part of why Webber left?

I don't want to be seen as the Westcoast of this thread, but the Pub and Paddle thing is an accident waiting to happen IMO. When i saw it on the way to CR for a 3pm kick-off I was horrified to see no buoyancy bags in the canoe, and I'm not sure whether they even had life-jackets on. One thing is for certain paddling and alcohol is not a good combination. But as a concept it sounds fun.

Maybe we should all get a vote on this, a sort of Leave or Remain type thing, perhaps with publicly voted representatives also having a say, and maybe, or maybe not, the final say. Maybe we could get a second vote on whether we agree with the publicly voted representatives; or not. That way we'll still be in it in 3 years time.

Until we actually sign someone there's no point in West Coast returning - there's nothing yet to be miserable about. BTW who was the idiot who first used the word "Journeyman" on this thread? They've got a lot to answer for.

From us to QPR to Swansea to another club in 5 years, and not a Journeyman? I am down on Fer as I was so excited when I first saw him play for us, he seemed to have so much potential, but he just hasn't developed and fulfilled his earlier promise. So you could say he is an ideal candidate for our recruitment model of identifying players who are under-performing, but we can probably find players who are better and cheaper abroad.

Fair enough, but that doesn't explain why he has become a bit of a Journeyman since he left.

Olsson gets caught up the pitch all too often and doesn't try to get back. Seems to try and tackle mainly with his arms. Not the kind of player we want at all.

It's hard to imagine a Pulis team having the ambition to win football matches. No, can't do it.

I am still puzzled as to how some of Steiperman's goals went in as they weren't hit that hard and were from a long way out. Was it that they went through a crowd of players and the goalies saw them late, or they bobbled and diverted? Don't think that Prem goalies would let many of those shots past them, unfortunately. We'll need more Vrancic thunderbolts like against Blackburn.

When Pukki scored our third against (Sh)ITFC we were lucky that he wasn't injured by their defender who clearly jumps on him. Maybe that's how they're coached in Suffolk.

He might be just the kind of player for when we need someone to stamp our authority on the game. It's a no from me.

When I used to play Monopoly I used to like to put one of my £500 notes under the board as a reserve, and play with the remaining £1,000. I'd like to see us do the same with £20 million - well maybe put it in an investment account instead.

Having rewatched the highlights of the Villa at home game I see no reason why we wouldn't buy Rhodes, other than the price being too high. We'd still need another striker, but I have confidence in DF and SW. We must be getting a name for rescuing players' careers.

They've the same points tally from their last five games as our Suffolk Cousins.

Which are we more likely to unearth in the transfer market - a good Centre-back, or a good CDM? if the answer is Centre-back then why not move Godfrey forwards to CDM ? His pace will complement someone like Leitner or Trybull and he's got the strength, and if we're chasing the game he could drop back to make a back three. I remember when Elliot Bennett was here there was talk about whether he could convert to a full-back, and now he is one.

What a tiresome way to say that Emi is important to us. You have to exclude the first 6 games from any analysis - why? - just look at our line-ups for those matches - we had Husband, Pinto and Marshall as full backs, and Pukki as the number 10 in various combinations. While Emi was banned we still didn't lose, and scored 5 goals in games where we were nervy and the players were having to adjust to a major cog being absent.
