  1. Is there a transcript anywhere? If he really alluded to making the playoffs - he is living on another planet. The guy comes across arrogant as hell. Didn''t seem to be missed much at Huddersfield.
  2. If we didn''t have Maddison this season, we would be staring relegation in the face. For the squad we have, it''s hard to say anything other than we have woefully underperformed. We won''t have Maddison next year. I doubt we''ll have Klose or Gunn next year. I for one am very worried about where we are headed.
  3. I''m all for giving time for a manager to build something. The problem is, I''m not sure I like what the manager is trying to build. The problem all season has been boring possession football with few chances or goals created. I have seen very little progress in this department all season.
  4. As others have said, I''ve shown my support by renewing the 8th most expensive season ticket while we languish in the bottom half of the 2nd tier. I''m certainly a sceptic of this scheme, but i wish it and everyone who buys into it every success. If we are in as much financial trouble as is to be believed, then the young players are truly the future of this club.
  5. Sounds like I''ve missed a thriller. Let me guess, we''ve passed it round the box for 90mins and relied on someone to smash in a 30 yard screamer?
  6. He had a fantastic game. I have my concerns about our system as a whole, but our back 3 are superb.
  7. Definitely looked class - and was always keen to receive the ball. When he came on, it looked like everyone was keen to get him involved, I suspect he has impressed some on the training ground. It is hard to judge too much on yesterday though. Ten men Boro very rarely put him under any pressure at all. Looking forward to seeing more. Are there many rumours of an option to buy?
  8. Srbeny is such a massive unknown that I''m really not happy with him being our only backup/competition for an out of form Oliveira. One RB is also an issue that we haven''t dealt with. That said, keeping Maddison is huge. Disappointed but not surprised in summary. If we miss playoffs by a couple of points, I think there will be just cause to be a bit ticked off at the window.
  9. If this is the last loan, I''m ok... but if we''re loaning a striker too, this is starting to remind me of the Roeder Loan years. Unproven teenagers from Premier League clubs who will be gone in 6 months. As others have said, why bother filling the gaps with talent from WBAs academy? Blood our own youth if we are that desperate to get players on the cheap.
  10. Like anything football related, it''s rarely one thing that you can pin the blame on, but a multitude of factors. I don''t think Webber is completely blameless and to be honest, I think he seems a little bit arrogant. I don''t like how he always seems to come out and claim credit when we are on a good run, and then lets others take the fall when things are going wrong. That said, I don''t think it''s his fault that we''ve shifted out 4 decent and 1 outstanding championship players half way through the season. The fact we are so light as a squad in January is a disgrace in my opinion. The players were knackered yesterday, because we haven''t got enough players to rotate properly. Every game we play with not enough players we are losing valuable points and whoever is responsible for our flash sale has compromised this season completely.
  11. If we are as skint as our January flash sale is implying, then we need to be investing what little money we have in positions we need to strengthen. However, if Maddison is gone in this window, then midfield may well be a position we need another player for. Godfrey looks like he will be a key new addition to the first team next year in that position. But he will be as the natural replacement for Tettey, not madders. We must have a deal as-good-as complete for a striker... Surely we wouldn''t sell our only backup and proven-championship striker without having someone to come in? Surely...?
  12. The pinkun story has been all over the place. About 15 mins ago the 14m story was reporting 11m. I guess we won''t have a concrete idea until the deal officially goes through.
  13. Really is pathetic. Contracted until 2020 and we could easily sell for at least as much in the summer. We signed him for 8m, he''s improved while at us and we''re in the ''pay a premium window''. For some reason we''ve given up at less than we got for Jacob. Season might as well be over.
  14. We should be holding out for a silly fee in this window. Huddersfield have had a good first half of the season, but in the end they are only 4 points above the drop. If they want a good player who has got plenty of time to run on his deal, and they want to take him in this window, they are going to have to cough up above the odds for him. I don''t think Pritchard is that bothered about leaving in this window, he knows he can get a move to a premier league club in the summer if required. His value is not going to drop in 6 months and he might think he could entice a club with a bit more spending power than Huddersfield. Long story short, if we sell him in this window I would want over £15m for him. If Murphy was worth £12m in the summer, I don''t think that is an unreasonable demand.
  15. The ''Snakepit'' is an embarrassment and I''m glad I managed to move my season ticket out from there. As a kid I thought it would be the coolest place to sit, with the loudest and most passionate fans. What I later realised (when I was no longer 13) , was that they sing the loudest about themselves, abusing stewards or abusing our own players. Seemingly very little effort is actually given to supporting the team or discussing the game.
  16. These two were superb. Wes had one of those games where the ball seemed to glue to his feet on command. I think Yanic needs a shout out too though. His directness and penetration really complimented Wes and Madders play-making imo. Pritchard is going to find it very difficult to nail his starting spot when he returns. A great position for us to be in.
  17. Watkins'' tackle was reckless, undisciplined and deserved a red. When you are 1-up in the closing minutes of an away game, putting in that kind of tackle by the oppositions corner flag is just stupid. Can''t really remember the tackle on Madison, has anyone got a link?
  18. Wouldn''t be surprised to see Newcastle chipping in a few thousand a week for the remainder of his contract to get the deal through. Sounds like he is nowhere near the team and they really want him off the wage bill.
  19. Doesn''t look like the Newcastle fans have anything good to say about him on their forum. Still, his record for Blackburn makes me think he has more than enough about him to be a step up from our current group of CBs.
  20. Still young for a CB and knows the league inside out. He would be a big step up from Franke/Zimmerman imo.
  21. We surely won''t sell Nels. That is just giving up plain and simple. Can''t see anything happening to be honest. Maybe we''ll get another kid in for the development squad at most. I''d love to get Dallas and Flint in though.
  22. The most frustrating thing as a fan is a few of us accepted that we would be a bit more reserved in the Premier League market to ensure we were strong financially in the possible case we were relegated. This would give us a platform to always compete with the best championship teams for a few years after a potential drop. Unfortunately it seems we were able to compete in the window for only a year before we moved onto selling our best players and replacing them with cheap/free signings. Cheap and free has worked for us in the past, but we signed many proven talented young players from League 1 & 2 under Lambert. They understood the league and all slotted in very quickly. Signing so many unproven foreign players is a big risk imo. I really hoped we were strong enough financially to invest some of the Murphy money in some quality players, but clearly that is not going to happen. It''s not a particularly exciting time to be a Norwich fan unfortunately. Hopefully the new signings can turn it around and surprise me.
  23. Going from Dijjks to Boros reserve left back sums up this window for me. Left back was one of the main positions we needed to strengthen along with CB and i''m not sure we''ve done a good enough job. I''m sure he''ll settle in and improve as the season goes on, but we certainly do not look like we have the makings of a promotion challenging defence here.
  24. I don''t think either William Hill or the Reading Chronicle would completely fabricate a story without hearing something. The fact that the stories are both about the same player is also no coincidence. That''s not that I think the stories are true. Chances are Nelson''s agent is whispering into as many ears as he can find to stir up something. Whether Nelson is involved himself is a mystery. I don''t really remember the time before agents took over football, but I''m sure it was a better one.
  25. Either there actually is something in this rumoured release clause, or someone is really keen on stirring up interest in Nelson.
