I can''t understand how he convinces the Board he should stay. We are spineless to watch and his interviews appear depressing and passionless to me. The minute we go a goal down both fans and players appear to sense we have lost and spend the rest of the game hoping another six aren''t coming our way.

If we go down - RVW, Hooper and Fer will go in the summer. Howson, Hoolahan, Johnson and the like won''t. Hughton has spent millions on mercenaries who play for themselves and that he can''t motivate. It reminds me of the Championship relegation season when we had too many has beens and loan signings. No point being a gifted footballer if you lack desire. Hughton should go, but it his players who have let him down. No pride, no passion, no points!

I wonder what our lowest away following has been? The way the weather is, it may be this game could challenge. I remember a few years back when games at Burnley and Blackpool (in the league cup I think) were called off just before kick off.

If you had to pick an 11 to fight for the shirt Wes would be one. After Hughtons signings you won''t find another 10! If we have to win a game stay up Wes would give 100%. Points are enough late in the season with games running out. What we appear to be doing is sustaining momentum for clubs around us. Fulham have quality and are picking up, Cardiff will have a new manager, Palace have new found belief - and other posters have acknowledged are improving. West Ham may change manager. We have no momentum, belief, or quality, and look at present, no better than Sunderland or Palace.

Interesting debate "the does sacking the manager change anything." Surely timing is important - give a new manager some cash and a transfer window and he has more chance of making a difference. If sacking the manager made no difference, do we consider Gunn would have taken us to the Premier?

Agree with the 4 points raised. The first names on my team sheet would not be the players Hughton has signed. We only play well for half a game because on the odd occasion the tactics are right the oppositions coaches respond. The majority of the time we are gutless, look incapable of winning a game, and don''t have a plan. We need a leader - I don''t think Hughton is one, and I don''t see any in Yellow. In fact I don''t think Hughton has had the fans backing since his first (of many humiliations) at Fulham. At least he is now having to recognise we need Wes, one of the few the club means a lot to that Hughton hasn''t got rid of. He appears to sign players who do not fit into how we are to play - use wingers but no powerful number 9 with a presence.

Should be gone before then - too many chances already. Cannot believe how many times he puts out a side that doesn''t perform - preparation and motivation appears beyond the management team.

I think it is nonsense and I made no reference to any particular manager. The article does imply that keeping Gunn would have ended in consecutive promotions though. Perhaps the relevance is in making sure you appoint a more suitable manager than the one you sack. It may not be a better manager - just different attributes more relevant to a club or existing squad of players if no money is available. Neither my original comment, or the article, provide any clue as to the best course of action regarding the current manager.

Nonsense article. It suggests it is all about the players, but surely the poor squad is inherited from the original manager - and that''s why they are sacked. Every successful manager must also have replaced a sacked manager, as very few retire.

I wonder if Becchio''s situation is impacting on Johnson, Howson and Snodgrass who Becchio will presumably have been friends with at Leeds - I am sure they would have expected him to get more opportunities if he discussed coming to Norwich.

What a great post - I thought it might be just me.  I can''t even be bothered to argue Hughton in or out - the Board will do as they wish and we will just endure.  Originally I was frustrated as I thought we had quality players, but the lack of passion from anyone at the club - players, manager and board has drained my enthusiasm. I have a ticket for Liverpool, but given the Manchester debacles and Suarez ease at getting 3 every time he plays us, I am for the first time in years considering not bothering going. I didn''t think it possible, but the current set up is draining my emotional attachment - even when we went down under Gunn, I at least knew he was hurting even if the players were poor.   I doubt the club shop will do much business this Christmas, and last seasons highlights is unlikely to be a best seller!  

I think Hughton is such a decent bloke he just wouldn''t accept blaming anyone without accepting responsibility himself. As he is such a nice guy, you wonder how the coaches and players feel at consistently under performing and watching him take the flak. That, I think is the problem, too many under performers letting him down. Hughtons problem - he recruited them.
