  1. I may be a minority of one - but I would be happy with Zola.
  2. What I didn''t expect was the lack of application and fight shown by the signings. I think it is this lack of character, rather than any lack of ability, that was most shocking.
  3. The away support - especially at Fulham, United and Chelsea. Getting back to our best in supporting the team - and fantastic to see a player mixing with us to support his team mates!
  4. I,ll have a tenner on them going down then!
  5. Annoyed Hughton signed so many players who didn''t fight for us or their team mates. What is depressing is the real lack of good calibre managers we can come up with, ones who could create a squad we can gel with to bring back the togetherness. In our promotion year I remember Billy Davies saying it was difficult to come to Norwich because you sensed the Board, Manager, Team and Fans were all together. It will take a strong Manager and effort from us all to get that back.
  6. Signed players who had no bottle, no connection with the fans, then made the squad he had assembled worse by removing the team spirit and setting us up with a negative mentality. It was Hughtons signings that cost him his job, Becchio and Hoolahans outbursts summed up the Divisions in the squad. We went down because of what happened on the pitch, we just wanted a team to have a go and play with some pride.
  7. Is Loza in as RVW stormed out, or the reason he stormed out?
  8. Tend to agree John, Adams looking less of a gamble.
  9. Not sure what to make of this, but it certainly has caused me to re-think Malky as a potential manager.
  10. Shouldn''t have wasted all the money on Wembley - was far more inclusive when the England team was playing around the country. Why restructure to help the richest clubs again? As far as England is concerned - we might as well re-name the country London.
  11. Zola, Hoddle, Billy Davies - all available.
  12. I''m guessing Malky fancies it if Iwan is making that kind of comment. Tend to agree we could do with a no nonsense manager.
  13. The problem is the financial clout of the top six. If the FA had the bottle to tackle that and share the wealth, young English players would be playing at other clubs instead of picking up £30k a week in the reserves of the big six. It might make the League more competitive from top to bottom, so you could have a wider pool of teams to pick from. Of course it''s easier to damage lower league clubs than tackle the big clubs monopoly.
  14. After the disappointments of RVW, Hooper, and Fer, I can''t see me getting excited about any summer signings. I remember a few years ago thinking Brellier was an inspired signing, but after last summer when we signed a host of no-marks I really won''t be convinced by any signings until they deliver in a yellow shirt. Would love another big, up for the scrap No. 9 in the Iwan or Grant mould though.
  15. Without belittling the FA Youth Cup, I think it should be kept in perspective. If my memory is correct we beat QPR, Birmingham, Milwall, Forest, Everton and Chelsea. Hardly a regular winning streak for a 46 game season. I have come round to thinking Malky or Adams, but I expect it will take more than a season for them to settle and build a team.
  16. About this time of the season we start using next seasons new kit. Have we chosen not to do this because we don''t want it to be a relegation kit, or because the badges will be wrong? Any ideas for next seasons away kit?
  17. Neither Hooper or RVW fought hard enough for us in my opinion. I have seen little evidence of a desire to play for Norwich, and if they did stay it now appears they can''t make step up if we were promoted. When Grant left we had a vacancy for a new hero - none of our strikers were man enough to step up. It''s not just the lack of goals, more the lack of application.
  18. How good was he with the Youth team? He had a good cup run, which included beating Forest on penalties. Luton had a good cup run but we didn''t suggest appointing their manager. Adams is a good option to have, but although performances have been better, results have not been great.
  19. Good post, and correct in that we need to have our footballing philosophy consistent at all levels in the club. This would help young players progress as they would be familiar with how the first team played. Thinking this way, I can see the logic of giving Adams a go, but would be less convinced by Malky or Lennon. From a purely footballing perspective I could see Hoddle fitting the bill - but it is not all about football in isolation.
  20. Hi T. Interested in your comments, and certain scenarios, such as Blackburn winning the title support your financial theory. However, it wouldn''t explain the old Wimbledon run in the top flight on the meagre income they had. It also doesn''t appear to add up when the teams with Premier parachute payments fail to be promoted back to the Premier the following season. In my opinion, the best players don''t always make the best team. Perhaps a good coach, manager is more adept at spotting potential than spending millions. Moving Chris Sutton from defence to centre forward - that is something you need a good coach for, and that lack of ability supported my view Hughton should go. The only youngster I can remember him signing is Redmond.
  21. Don''t agree with a deduction, but the lack of transparency by the FA is worrying. If Sunderland hadn''t notified the FA would they have found out? Do they carry out checks?
  22. Whoever we get - I hope he wants to win a cup!
