  1. For a long time I have liked Delia and the self-funding model, but I have to admit that I’m starting to feel it’s beginning to get beyond a joke now. About a decade ago it was still enough to fund PL survival, but soon I think it’s not even going to be enough to fund Championship survival. If things don’t get sorted out soon, I’m getting a nasty feeling we’re going to find ourselves in the same situation that our rivals were in in recent years - average attendance halved, and struggling in the 3rd tier. Regarding the Wagner matter though, I am still willing to give him until Sargent is back to full fitness as it wasn’t until Sargent’s injury that we fell apart. If we still can’t get going once Sargent and Barnes are back together though, I think he has to go
  2. No. Still yet to even make the match day squad for them in any competition
  3. Although Dowell is quite injury prone, I would also certainly have him back. He is a proven Championship goal scorer and creator, and on loan at Wigan the season before we signed him, nearly kept them up. Personally I have no sympathy for Dowell. Cantwell encouraged him to leave and join back up with him at Ibrox, he was excited about the SPL and Europe, and ended up getting relegated to the B team. Omobamidele was delighted when his move to Forest was complete so I’m sure he’s having a great time, still yet to end even make the match day squad for them in any competition. Too many players choose to move to bigger clubs and end up wrecking their careers. If Rowe or Sara move to a PL club I think that they may do the same unless it’s a newly promoted team. Maddison’s is just about the only one I can think of whose move went well.
  4. I agree Long has been poor but you can’t blame the keeper for every goal conceded. I mean if a player gets one on one with the keeper and scores or a defender fouls an opponent in the box and the penalty is converted can you really blame the keeper for that? Personally I wouldn’t blame the opposition keepers for the goals Hwang scored last night and against QPR, I would blame the defenders
  5. No way. I agree he was abysmal tonight but he was great when we signed first him and played a big part in our first league title under Farke, it’s just the problem now is that he’s past his peak. Should have been Sainz starting in place of him
  6. FT. Ipswich failed to register a shot on target
  7. 2-0. Ipswich still yet to register a shot on target
  8. Scrappy win but at the end of the day 3 points is 3 points, with a clean sheet as well
  9. We’re only 9 points clear of the drop but then only 6 off the playoffs. Way too early to tell - if you have a look at the table you will see that there’s still a lot of places we could move to on Saturday
  10. Not really. If he doesn’t get sacked over the international break then I think he has to start a decent run from this win, picking up about 10 points from the next 5 games as just 2 wins in 11 games is just not acceptable
  11. Not surprised the Cardiff fans are saying she was awful. Listening to the commentary I think we were fortunate they don’t have VAR in the Championship as apparently Cardiff should have been awarded a penalty in the first half. Had it been given and converted I think the second half would have been a totally different story and we would have probably ended up getting thrashed 5-1
  12. If you're happy to have Grant Holt as Wagner's replacement then you have to be happy to have Frank Lampard. Given the current situation we are in, we need someone with good Championship managerial experience, and Holty doesn't have any managerial experience at all. Wouldn't say no to him working as a coach though, as he was a great striker in his playing days
  13. Although I agree that it’s time for Delia to end her control as it’s too difficult to run a club at our level as self funded anymore due to how inflated the transfer market has got over the years, I still regard Delia as a far better owner than some of the owners we have seen at other clubs over the years. Being a true Norwich fan, she doesn’t take the money for herself. The only down side to it is her own financial wealth. As it’s only money from her cook books she’s sold she doesn’t lend us any money, forcing us to earn the money ourself. However, it’s not all about wealth. Look at the Glazers for an example, billionaires but all the Man Utd fans want them out. If they sold up and then Delia sold up to them would you take them? No way, not unless they changed and took the same approach to us as Man City’s and Newcastle’s owners take to their clubs (give us money and don’t want it back)
  14. If Wagner goes I want his replacement to be a manager with an attacking style of play. Yesterday I saw someone on Facebook calling for Steve Bruce. No thanks - he failed at West Brom recently and parks the bus, just like Chris Hughton
  15. Lambert was great when he came, getting us straight back up to the Championship, then back to back promotions to the PL. However, ever since he left us he’s failed everywhere, and so I would only say no as if he was appointed I think we would only see a repeat of the second spell of Mike Walker
  16. Fantastic. Now all we need is Gunn and Rowe to follow suite
  17. 1) Salary cap. Personally I don’t just think it’s harsh on the smaller teams but that’s it’s horrible for all the people out there who are struggling with the cost of living crisis at the moment. Just think, some people struggle to earn £25k p/a, so I would have a maximum wage of just £2k p/w. Just about all players go into some other football related activity when they hang up their boots, whether it’s coaching, management, being pundits etc so they don’t need the money. Would like this to be introduced by FIFA, so it’s active worldwide 2) Transfer fee cap. Again, something else I would like FIFA to introduce. It’s causing inflation in the market, so I would have a maximum club expenditure of £100m in transfer fees p/s. Ban all clubs in debts of £50m+ from spending anything in transfer fees, so they can only sign free agents and players from their academy 3) Scrap VAR. It’s doing more bad than good. Keep GLT though
  18. To be honest BH, I don’t mind rival fans who behave like you currently are - I have a football teammate who’s a Tractor Boy, and we just respect each other’s teams. When we were in League One, there were two Leeds fans on here. One hardly posted anything but was a perfectly respectable guy. The other, who called himself “Spainboy” was constantly winding us up, saying things like “you’ll never catch us” because of Leeds’ good cup run with their win at Old Trafford. However, Leeds’ cup run proved costly for them as it provided as a distraction and Spainboy disappeared as we overtook them in the table. At the end of the season he came back under a different name and apologised to us, probably because he’d got banned It’s far too early to be making predictions as there’s still a long way to go but if it turns out to be your season this time round, all I would say is credit to you
  19. A good cup run does not help you in the league. It just gives more opportunities for injuries/fatigue/suspensions. I don’t know who remembers our season in League One when we were competing with Leeds for the title but Leeds were top of the league at first and went on a good cup run, including a win at Old Trafford but their cup run just provided as a distraction for them and they ended up finishing in second place, with us winning the title
  20. I’d always take promotion. Yes it’s always difficult following the club through the first season, especially as we hold the record for the number of PL relegations but promotion’s an achievement and you will also see a great season in the Championship - what would you prefer, hanging around mid-table in the Championship with the occasional relegation battle (like the Grant-Roeder-Gunn era), or going up to a higher level? I know there’s all the financial issues but there’s a possibility that things might change with Attanasio now involved. Even so I do think we already have several decent players in the side
  21. You don’t get what I mean. Until Sargent got injured the whole squad was doing fine, and there were no complaints. It looks like the loss of Sargent has traumatised all the other players in the squad and had an impact on their confidence
  22. As I’ve said in another thread we were doing fine until Sargent got injured. It seems like his injury had an impact on the rest of the squad’s mentality
