MacDou-GOAL!
Wings of a Sparrow replied to lake district canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Great picture of Ted MacDougall on the main Pinkun page, celebrating a goal against Villa in one of my favourite ever Norwich matches at the start of the 1975/1976 season. City 5 - Villa 3, with the Mick Dennis headline... "What entertainment - 8 pence a goal!" Those were the days! -
I have no interest in the national team whatsoever, haven''t done for some time. Where are all the characters who you could at least warm to, or identify with?

MacDou-GOAL!

Loved the MacDougall/Boyer partnership .Great time to be a Norwich fan. MacDougall wandering about upfield, hands on hips like he couldn''t give a 5hit, pass from Boyer. Bish, bash bosh. Back of the net. Good old fashioned ''goalhanger''. -
It was gash. First three for me, in that order, then meh!

Rational/Irrational

When you have supported your team for a number of years, I guess you just realise that its all part of the experience. We win, we lose, we draw, we play well, we play badly, sometimes we have a good season, sometimes not. There''s not a lot you can do to change the result. This is just a modern version of talking about it on the way home from the match or in the pub afterwards. But there does seem to be a lot more hand wringing than I remember there ever was. -
Telegraph exposē on the Championship! Wow!!!

Yes. And No. A bottle at Christmas is thanks for the business for the previous year and is also saying I expect to carry on the relationship next year. In the good old, bad old days of the oil industry in Yarmouth at its peak in the 1970''s there were instances of a washing machines and I even know for of a car once being given as a gift to secure past and future business. Perhaps its not the same or to the same degree, but its a very faint line between the two. -

I suspect after all the initial faux outrage, it will all be quietly swept under the carpet and everyone will carry on as before. -

Martin Peters ''ghosting in'' was a term they liked to use. Great time to be a City fan.

Rude and arrogant

For me it all started on 10th Jan 1990. Carrow Road welcomes Exeter for an FA Cup 3rd round replay. Instead of applauding plucky little lower league team, (as they would normally) the Barclay boos the Exeter players as they run on to the pitch. It was the beginning of the downward spiral I tell thee. -

Do they also factor in that Norwich is a nice place to live for young families, and inhabited with nice people? -

...of trolls and WUM''s on this message board over the last few months. Worse than it ever has been. Is it just the social media/Internet age we live in? School holidays? Keyboard warriors? Combination? Something else? -
(About Pete) "What, in the same way that you go on holiday every time we win a match?" Or come out of the woodwork every time some one dies... Troll of the very highest (lowest) order....

I love how there''s so many experts on Transfer dealings, there are so many permutations of what could and could not have happened it''s impossible to speculate, and not as straight cut as implied. -

Isn''t the OP just paraphrasing what others have said about potential targets or am I wide of the mark? -
Blimey, forgotten all about them. (Cooper Temple Clause). Saw them support MUSE at UEA a few years back. I got the CD on the strength of them being very good, I''ll have to dig it out.
