1.
well it was heavy at wigan and sunk ! Thats my only fear with Rosler yes ok done well at Fleetwood but NCFC is totally different it is like Cowley at lincoln yes he can deal with players in that league get them playing well but would that work with Klose or Pinto ?? you never really know until they are here how managers will perform like Lambert after he left us when here looked the best young manager in country
Rosler would be a fairly safe and uninspired choice. Feels like David Moyes to me though, maybe I''m being harsh, but he was involved in the playoffs three times (Brentford, Wigan and Fleetwood) and didn''t go up in any of them.Lambert was just a good motivator though. Once Culverhouse had committed the cardinal Villa sin of standing up to Gabby Agbonlahor, there was only going to be one winner, and that summer Lambert offered his resignation, only for Lerner to give him a new four year deal.
 2.
Did Rosler get Wigan to the Play Offs or did I completely dream that up?
Yeah 5th in 2013/14 season. Took over from Owen Coyle when Wigan were 14th, and got them to the FA Cup Semi-Finals beating Man City in the process. Then got sacked the next season :P
 3. Is Nick Mashiter Webber''s unofficial spokesman then? Given that the Pinkun are quoting him directly without the usual "Transfer Rumours" blerb Maybe there''s truth in the Howson rumour then, surprised we want to get rid of him
 4.
Rosler has been here at least once anybody been on Airport duty ? or did they sneak the German coach in through sea palling at the dead of night in a rubber dinghy ?
So you''re saying it''s Rosler? ;) I can well believe Rosler was the other guy on the interview list, but I''m expecting a German league manager to be appointed.
 5.
For me, assuming Webber would want Wagner is the same as assuming that a surgeon would use the same procedure to fix a broken leg as he would a burst appendix. I think Rosler is the ''safe'' option in all of this- a decent manager who is comfortable in the system- but have a feeling we''re waiting on an as yet unknown, more daring target.
I think the first choice will be someone working the German leagues, with Rosler as the Plan B. Wouldn''t be surprised if the first choice isn''t currently a head coach, since Wagner came from managing the reserve team.
 6.
Felt Webber did a good job of not giving anything away with his comments. Guessing there are multiple options, some domestic some overseas.
Reading between the lines though, I get the impression it was a shock to Ryan Bennett, possibly to Ruddy as well. Also sounds like Russell Martin is nailed on to stay, and that''s he''s fairly happy with us going forward, but is looking for a clinical striker. That''s the second time I''ve heard him say we won''t have two experienced right backs so I''m guessing he has Godfrey or Efeete to cover.
 7. Realistically I can''t see him going in the summer though.Based on Webber''s comments about running a squad of 18 experienced professionals rather than 25, sounds like we''ll be having three experienced centre backs and a youngster like Godfrey to fill in the fourth.Bassong''s clearly off when his contract expires. Klose is likely to be sold, and it''s likely to be two new centre backs with a toss up between keeping Martin or Ryan Bennett.
 8.
Interesting to note that almost all of the young players in that article have since gone on to do very little and almost none of them even play for Wolves anymore or made any impact on the first team. That being said, young player recruitment is one of the biggest minefields in the game, so it''s not surprising this is the case.If Webber rates them and they bring even a few players through from youth to first team it will be worth it.
Wolves would have a been a hard sell to a lot of young players though. Webber''s interviews are usually interesting because he''s fairly candid. One point he made was that if you want a player who is physically strong, technically able and clever you''ll end up paying through the nose, hence his focus on youth. Even with that you''re trying to assess potential and hope they develop accordingly.Paul McVeigh''s book highlights the importance of drive, ambition and mental strength needed to succeed. Interesting that Chris Badlan retweeted a Troy Deeney interview citing 74% of 18 year olds who sign pro-contracts are out of the game 5 years later.
 9.
Did we already have a European role, or is it new?
Previously it was Tony Spearing, with Lee Darnborough taking responsibility for the UK
 10. We''ve been through the Whittaker situation before. Three midfielders were injured and he played their because he''d played their for Rangers during their UEFA cup run.Norwich fans seems to blame the manager, then the board, even when the players are blaming each other in interviews (Martin after Brighton and Jerome after Sheff Wed)
 11.
Herman, It''s not moaning for moaning sake. The fact is AN should have been sacked November/December. The board must have seen he was not good enough and drawn up plan B.The other point is if we are getting Webber then me must know what coach he would like us to get and make a move for him.So why not get the coach in now, ready.
The story was that Alex Neil offered his resignation after the Reading game, but was asked to continue, as Plan B was not yet fully formed.
 12. So is Mulbarton a dull place to live? Or were they not particularly creative with their insults?
 13.
That is exactly right, RTB. The strategy is the long-term plan, which is the new structure. Who at any one time fills the positions in the new structure counts as the tactics (no-one ever said they envisaged Neil being manager for 10 years, and I doubt the directors are assuming Webber, if it is him, will stay that long either). Which is why attempts now to paint this whole strategic process as something cobbled together in the wake of recent events are wrong I know it must be annoying for some, but Balls plainly was working on a strategic vision for the next decade or so, even if it is possible the timing of its implementation/position-filling has been influenced by events, such as Moxey departing, for something unrelated to the football side of the business. Equally the board may have been about to install a Sporting Director with Moxey and Neil still in place
I think there''s a couple a factors at play. Firstly Steve Stone has been interim Chief Executive twice, and the board seemed to be impressed with his acumen and leadership, but there''s a gap on the footballing side. Hence the MD role, with the footballing side delivered by the Sporting Director, seems tailor made for him. The Head Coach role. When McNally created his ill-fated football board, one of the examples he''d used was Chris Hughton phoning him up at 11pm on a Thursday trying to organize a loan of Cameron McGeehan to Luton, and McNally wanting him to focus on the first team and the game on Saturday. Certainly the modern managers role has changed dramatically. I was watching Larry Lloyd on a Forest DVD, and Clough won two European cups and the league, with 4-4-2 and not caring about the opposition, and barely any coaching. We''ll have to see exactly how much power the Sporting Director has. From Balls'' comments, it seems far removed from the days of Gunn as "Head of Recruitment" as a glorified secretary . As Iwan Roberts points out on the front page, our scouting has been sub-par for many years now. With Tony Xia and his £10million+ for Scott Hogan, Ross McCormack and Kodija, there''s no value in the Championship any more, so if we''re going to go back up, we need to improve our foreign scouting.
 14.
changes have to be made we all know that BUT you do not tell the press / media players are not good enough getting rid of them etc when games still to be played should have all been kept behind closed doors not going to get a team playing for you is it ! His targets was play offs and he has gone before ( i know very slim chance ) so must have been players unhappy with that interview if just results unless delia would have done it after bristol game
Really? Lafferty, Mulumbu, Bassong and Turner must know they aren''t getting new contracts and are leaving at the end of the season. Ruddy and Ryan Bennett probably both get their extra year triggered by the club. All of them realistically want to be playing football to get themselves decent deals in the summer. But it''s got to sting that at least some of them could have left, but chose to stick around on more money to play in the reserves.Klose will be off in the summer.Sadly Naismith and Jarvis still have two years left.
 15. As others have said, always came across as an honest and decent guy, and quick to admit when he''d screwed up.Football''s a fickle business, but he should get an opportunity at another club.
 16. Warburton''s been horribly exposed at Rangers, bought some shockingly poor players, and has been found out.
 17.
He left Villa a few seasons back after allegations of bullying, so maybe it was a case of take what comes - and this way he is in charge rather than being the assistant
Allegedly his relationship with Lambert had been getting increasingly frayed at the time, and I believe the "bullying" allegations came from a run-in with the self-styled "Mr Villa" Gabby Agbonlahor. The fact Lambert replaced him with Roy Keane speaks volumes about the situation at that club. Especially as Mr Agbonlahor is also rumoured to have dispatched Roy Keane as well.
 18. Alex Neil said in the presser that he was sweating on the status of two new injury worries, and it could be touch and go. He refused to name them (obviously in case Nigel Clough instructed his team to target them). Possibly that''s why Wes is on the bench.
 19. So that''s an FA Cup Quarter Final for FA Youth Cup winning ex -Norwich player Sam Habergham.Fair play to the lad.
 20.
Great stuff, now you''ve set Lakey off whining...
To be honest, someone breathing could set Lakey off :P
 21.
Who is Jake Humphrey?
Someone I went to school with :P I can only remember him being as dumb as rocks.
 22. Being back in Norfolk for the weekend, and having the misfortune to listen to Canary Call, it'' s clearly some kind of helpline for people with mental health problems. Including Rob Butler, going on about pheasants and signing dogs.
 23. Is it really a big deal though? If things weren''t working out, at least both parties agreed that they needed to see out the January transfer window first. As for his role, I didn''t see him complaining much when Wolves bombed in League One, with Ståle Solbakken and Dean Saunders guiding the ship.
