  1. People forget that Teemu was on fire until xmas last year.
  2. No way would i pay for Sky football if this goes through, though i doubt the top six care at all. It will be the end of top level English football as a sport.
  3. If Chase had invested in the team at Xmas when we were 8 points clear at the top of the very first Premier League, as then manager Mike Walker wanted to do, we may well have won the very first Premier League. Every has their highs and their lows.
  4. Sad to see Godfrey go as of all the youngsters here, i think he probably has the biggest future of all. Not yet the finished article.....but he will be. Future England CB regular.
  5. Todd has really lost the plot this week. The photo I have just seen in training he has got Onel carrying him round on his back today. 🤣
  6. Football in an entertainment business. Lower quality football does not necessarily mean lower quality entertainment. We have had some great entertainment in recent years - the 3 Lambert years and Farke’s promotion year especially but none were at the very top end of the Premier League. The fact that no side can compete at the top of the Premier League without very serious financial backing doesn’t make for great sport.
  7. A financial crash in football would be the best thing that could happen, as long as it effects the Liverpools, Man Utds as well. Reading of players earning £300k + per week whilst fans cannot go to matches and smaller clubs being on the brink of extinction is quite galling.
  8. If they have no desire to wear the yellow shirt, let's get them sold and gone. They will only be causing problems within the group.
  9. Because we have a brainless idiot as PM. I stopped short of saying he is in charge because he plainly is not in control of anything.
  10. The biggest question of all is why is it allowed that money can buy a test and a jump to the head of the queue when we are unable to provide quick testing to healthcare professionals? No wonder the Country is on the brink of lockdown again
  11. The step up from Championship to Premier League is big. The secret seems to be to be strong defensively but still have the nous to score goals, like a Sheffield Utd and Wolves have done.
  12. Fair play to Leeds, they gave it a go and arguably deserved a point. Its what we did at the start of last season. Problem will be if they keep losing and confidence starts to go. Bamford is not a Premier League striker.
  13. Until ordinary people wake up to the fact that most politicians seek to divide and conqueor then we are doomed to play their game of egos and posturing....and just be pawns in their power struggles. The French had it right, chop their heads off and threaten to do it again if they exceed their powers.
  14. I’m more your Peter Grant really. still ****e manager but at least my players didn’t hate me.
  15. I’m amazed that more posters are not Premier League managers with their in depth knowledge of the game. 😄 Our last promotion had much today with players stepping up to the mark when asked. That includes Vrancic and McLean. .
  16. We did it our way (most definitely within the financial constraints that recent years had imposed on us) Leeds are doing it their way. None of us will know who got it right until this time next year, maybe both, maybe one and not the other, might be neither. Isn't that what makes football entertaining?
  17. He needs to learn to shut up, take his punishment and get on with his life. Every time he opens his mouth, he makes himself look more stupid.
  18. This is where football has disappeared up its own backside. Money and fanciful valuations matter more to some than entertaining the fans on a matchday.
  19. Anybody who uses the phrase 'do you know who i am?' Should automatically be found guilty of acting like a spoilt brattish child and be subject to a ten year sentence of having the **** ripped out of them on every possible occasion for being a grade A ****.
  20. He signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract in October 2015.[28] He ended the 2015–16 campaign with five goals in 32 games. He continued to impress in the 2016–17 season, and was given another new two-and-a-half-year contract in September 2016.[29]The club rejected an offer of £1.5 million from Ipswich Town in January 2017.[30] He ended the 2016–17 season with 13 goals in 47 appearances to end up as Preston's top-scorer.[31] He started the 2017–18 season in good form and was linked with a number of clubs in the summer transfer window. He handed in a transfer request on 29 August 2017.[32] 😂
  21. Reality bites once clubs actually get promoted. Doesn't matter who it is or how big the club is, their is a realisation that hits that the expectation amongst the football world is that all newly promoted clubs will spend most of the season struggling and just hoping to stay up. Fine if you are linked with younger players who have something to prove or older players who are in the twilight of their career but generally well established players don't want to move to those clubs. Even Emi must look at it and i think, do i want another season of struggle and be back in the Championship next year or a decent season in the Champs and hopefully be back in the Prem next year? I would imagine from a player's perspective, two consecutive struggling seasons in the Premier league is very hard to take.
  22. Or 'How many tens of millions do you think you are worth, Jamal?'
  23. Just the type of player we lacked last season. We were too lightweight on many parts of the pitch, up front being one. Imagine if Hugill had been on the pitch rather than Drimic in some of those narrow defeats. Sheff Utd away being one where Drmic seemed to want to roll the ball into an empty net rather than smash the ball and anything else that got in his way.
