McCallum back to Coventry
curious yellow replied to Sadlerman's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Perhaps McCallum has been loaned out for the same reason as Sinani. It seems we weren't expecting teams to buy so late and we are stuck with a few players who aren't going to be a part of the team. -

Such a young side and so many of them seem to have improved since last year. -
Sinani Expresses Surprise At Being Loaned Out.

I would say Trybull, Leitner and Drmic, possibly Gilmour. Still paying their wages. -
Cantwell omitted from squad
curious yellow replied to vlad666's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It is a pretty poor argument to blame either player for us losing. No way did they force Farke to drop them. Who knows, they may have put in a star performance because of the circumstances. But people have jumped to conclusions, there's no excuse for trolling, unfortunately Farke has encouraged this by contorting facts to belittle Todd's contribution for the last season. -
Two goals and then subbed at half time. Must have downed tools.

Has Farke lost the dressing room?
curious yellow replied to hampton canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
We don't know exactly what has happened, we lost yesterday but you cannot blame players who weren't on the pitch. I don't think that the team has the togetherness that they had 2 seasons ago. The treatment of some of the players has been particularly cruel. What did Tom Trybull do to justify his expulsion? He had not long signed a new contract, a few below par performances(when nobody was playing well) and he has no squad number and no way back. Same for Leitner and Drmic. It seems an insult to not give squad numbers to players when we have given them to incoming players who we've immediately loaned back out. These incoming players must have been looking forward to playing for Norwich but now find themselves loaned back out and struggling for game time. It makes you wonder what the current squad think and whether there is a fear factor. The transfer deadline is usually before the start of the season, the overlap this season has done us no favours. -
Do they both start against Derby?
curious yellow replied to birchfest's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
According to Nick Ma****er, the bid from Leeds has been made, 15 million - we want add-ons and personal terms to be agreed. We really should get these deals done quickly so we have time to bring in a replacement. -
Farke on Cantwell
curious yellow replied to The Great Mass Debater's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think "oh look at me" is what social media is all about I don't remember any on field attitude problem with Cantwell, if there was why wasn't it dealt with at the time? Didn't Maddison prefer gambling to playing for England? Farke has said that the players were distracted by transfer negotiations, I don't think this is unusual. -
Farke on Cantwell
curious yellow replied to The Great Mass Debater's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Farke's comments have encouraged all of this "too big for the club", "grow up" "Big time Charlie" rubbish Whenever I've seen Cantwell interviewed he always seems down to earth. I can see the work he's done for Delete Cancer. When we were relegated he was humble enough to apologise to the fans saying that it was a dream come true to play for his local team in the Prem. I wonder if there are German equivalents to the English phrases: "Washing your dirty laundry in public" "Cutting off your nose to spite your face" If the players have done something wrong, punish them in private. Don't punish the team and fans. -
Farke on Cantwell
curious yellow replied to The Great Mass Debater's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It is a ridiculous thing for Farke to say. Firstly to qualify goals scored to league games. Didn't Cantwell score 50% of the first team goals between the restart and the end of the season? How many did his strikers score? Secondly, can he seriously blame Cantwell if another player misses a chance that Todd set up? He has created chances, for example the miss by Josh Martin at the end of the Man City game. It is the job of the manager to motivate the players, this isn't the way to do it. I thought the same about his comments on Idah's hat-trick against Preston(only their third choice keeper) Cantwell has obviously taken the events of the end of last season to heart, we need the management to be able to deal with these situations for the sake of the club. We had a midfield today bereft of creative ideas, and at least two creative players out because of falling out problems. It's a sad end to one of our most skilful products, but not surprising because he seems to receive more grief from within his own club. -
Stephen Hughes or Andy Hughes
curious yellow replied to Midlands Yellow's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It's obviously Andy because we have no fans to do the clapping. He would be more use in the stands. -
Team for Bournemouth

I'm surprised at the amount of people wanting to exclude Zimmerman and bring in someone who's not match fit. After a clean sheet the week before. -
McCallum back to Coventry
curious yellow replied to Sadlerman's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
6 choices for left back can't be bad. I would say that the most important ability for all the back 4 is to defend. We like Aarons going forward and Quintilla can put in a good cross, I would prefer full backs who can defend set pieces as our defensive midfield can be clumsy. Perhaps 3 centre backs with wing backs is the answer. -

Perhaps if Aarons stays we'll loan him back to Sunderland for first team experience. -
McCallum back to Coventry
curious yellow replied to Sadlerman's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Klose can play left back evidently. Shame about McCallum, can't imagine he's too pleased, that's a season and a half loaned back to his former club, must be great for them to have the money and the player. Also they have already loaned in another player in his position so he is not guaranteed to start every game - makes you wonder if we are paying some of his wages. Coventry fans think it's strange and wonder why we bought him if we don't want to play him. If players like Trybull, Leitner and Drmic are not wanted, looks like we are loaning out our recent signings whilst playing our loan signings. Perhaps Sorensen will be the next to go. It all seems a bit hit and miss, the transfer dealings left us short in vital positions last season, let's hope we don't make the same mistakes. -
I can't see any more signings, we have too many on the books at the moment. Could be the reason for all the outgoing loans.

McCallum back to Coventry
curious yellow replied to Sadlerman's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Perhaps we could get someone in on loan to cover. -
The reason for the long contract is we are hoping that when we sell him the fee will double because the buyers will think they are getting 2 players.
-
It makes you wonder how many players we have signed in the summer will actually play for us. Of the loaned out players it's only Cantwell and Godfrey who have come through and that was 2 seasons ago now. I can't understand why we are signing players, particularly the older ones if we don't consider them good enough for the first team and trust other teams to develop them. Best of luck to them.

Sell Cantwell or Buendia?
curious yellow replied to Doomcaster's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
No need to try to be so patronising. Constructive criticism about a player is fine(this doesn't include complaints about hairstyles) but we are seeing complaints here about Cantwell after every game although he hasn't done badly. And the "not the finished article" argument is rubbish, you could say that about any young player, he was probably, our best attacking player last season but that wasn't good enough for you. He is doing what he is being told to do at the moment, developing more as a team player. We can all see he has tremendous natural talent. The pass to Hernandez was excellent , Hernandez then wasted four good chances to pass and shot straight at the goalkeeper. As for moving, all this pointless negatively is more likely to make him want away to somewhere he is appreciated. -
Lewis is a natural athlete, never seems to tire, good ball skills but not the best crosser. His defending skills will have improved after a hectic Prem season, also has the experience of being a regular international at a young age. He has the composure as his goal against Leicester proved. Great buy for Newcastle, we probably wouldn't have sold him had we not bought 2 replacements.

What is wrong with Cantwell?!?!?
curious yellow replied to Michael Starr's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Judge by what you see, not what you hear. He did well, so did the team. -
You can see why Barden is so highly regarded. I thought the Darmstadt keeper for the second game played well-- if slightly unconventional at times.

David Turnbull has now signed for Celtic. It will be interesting to see how his career develops.
