    Lambert's probably up for it.

Personally, I blame Russ for our recent dip in form.

I think it is easy from our view to overplay our defensive role in the goal and underplay the quality of the ball and the run by Gayle. Everything is timed perfectly from their side.

Nah, it's far more complicated than that. Doesn't even take into account the method of undetermined Lagrange multipliers or the existence of five dimensional hyper surfaces in six dimensional tau space. I've fallen off my chair, Brian.

I thought that was Parma summarising kick off on Saturday

I remember going to Leeds and they had whole stands closed so I see Norman's brother Glory is alive and well....

Leeds home tickets went on sale to members only and sold out within the hour today, Norwich will now be mindful of Leeds fans buying tickets in the away end, hence restrictions.

....good appointment if it was 2009...

Gunn was rubbish though. Signing one good player doesn't stop you being a rubbish manager. Roeder signed Wes, he was still rubbish.

Well respond to them then. The points made on this thread have been pretty damn reasonable and I share KIO's sentiment that you can't even give a reasoned critique on players without someone claiming you're giving them stick or scapegoating them.

Forgive me Ron, I used you a little to make a wider point. You are a more open-minded poster, tending to ask questions, rather than jumping into 2D simple answers. There is quite a notable possibility that - despite never touching the ball and ostensibly having little to do with the action - Zimmermann may bear a good tranche of responsibility for the goal. This goes to show that simply watching the last piece of action as the goal goes in is a thoroughly unreliable indicator of responsibility: some goals are the result of clear individual mistakes, many more are a culmination of small technical errors opening the opportunity to the opportunity. There is a perceived view that Vrancic doesn’t/can’t do the defensive side of the game. I can understand that view as last season he did sometimes get completely bypassed in midfield, but I felt that was more due to adapting to the speed of the game rather than his skill set. Vrancic is good enough to play in pretty much any Championship team (style dependent) but he is in some way unfortunate that Leitner is also at the club and is one of the best midfielders in the league (ironically Leitner’s emergence at Dortmund one was of the reasons that Vrancic never progressed there). As for Cantwell, he is easily good enough to get regular minutes for anyone in the Championship. He has been better on the wing and like most young players he needs regular rotation to allow him to rest and reflect (the fact Aarons hasn’t needed this is part of the reason he is exceptional). Cantwell isn’t going to burn past players like Hernandez but he is good at moving infield and creating overloads. Stipermann often pushes forward, in advance of Pukki, so leaves a space for Cantwell and Buendia to move into. This movement, which pulls the opposing full backs with them, has been key to getting Lewis and Aarons into space in advanced positions.

I'd agree with this- actually said to my brother at the game how much he seemed to be involved in winning the ball back.

For me, the key thing is that he's improving. Yes his distribution wasn't great on Saturday, but he had very little to aim at. His shot stopping and reactions were first class, and ultimately that's the most important thing. I don't think anyone would suggest he shouldn't be criticised considering the key errors he made previously in the season, but what I think is very amusing is when people overreact and forcefully suggest we need to replace him as soon as he shanks a few kicks into touch. If you make comments like that you can't expect to not be called out on it, but for me, the positives far outweigh the negatives with regards to what Krul brings to the team.

The defence left space at the near post and didn’t pick up Gayle so he scored...

I don't think Jansson is 'unlikeable' - I think he's a class act. Show me a centre back who plays by the rules 100% of the time! We loved Holty because he knew how and when to bend the rules and make a right bloody nuisance of himself. I think Jansson should be playing at PL level, he's an outstanding player. Probably the best player in the Championship for my money (excluding PL loans like Mount/Wilson/Abraham).

Was outstanding today. Like others, I think that he will improve the more he plays.

Played so well he deserves the extra L.
