Stukulele 0 Posted October 23, 2010 So it''s Cardiff next Saturday, and I get to walk down the road to the new Lego Stadium. My problem is, do we cheer Craig Bellamy? I can''t remember far back enough to know whether he went on good terms or not. But he''s a former Canary and one of the best players to go through in a while. But then again, he''ll be in a Cardiff shirt, and it''ll make me feel dirty...Help?
Crafty Canary 547 Posted October 23, 2010 I''ve only ever heard Bellers say good things about the club and how grateful he is for the start we gave him. Give him a cheer then let''s hope the boys kick their collective ass.
Katie Borkins 1 Posted October 23, 2010 Neil Kinnock is Welsh, and we still cheer him. Given that Craig Bellamy achieved more for Norwich City than Neil Kinnock did, I think a round of applause would be perfectly fitting.
dhickl 0 Posted October 23, 2010 He did the opposite of Rooney - when there was speculation of him leaving for a PL club, he signed a new contract, that way we got a bigger fee for him. Since leaving, he has only spoken positively of Norwich, especially when he left Coventry. He made comparisons of the 2 clubs and said he would have been better off staying at Norwich. He has been back to watch a few games, most famously when he, Titus Shamble and Keron Dyer flew from Manchester to watch the Sc*m game. He definitely deserves his place in the City hall of fame, and should be cheered.

a1canary 0 Posted October 25, 2010 I would suggest anyone old enough to remember him (and you don''t have to be that old to!) will cheer him. Although a different kind of player, his attitude on the pitch is very similar to Holts. Put simply, he plays like he cares, which is all any fan wants from a player attitude wise. Helps if you''re decent too of course!
W-H 0 Posted October 25, 2010 I just hope that someone locks him in the bogs at 5 to three on Saturday.
YellowLittle1 0 Posted October 25, 2010 Anyone thats boos him is a disgrace. A Norwich legend who still loves Norwich himself, stated earlier he says he is appreciative towards us, but also he didnt celebrate when he scored against us for Newcastle.I do hope he has a stinker on Saturday though, huge game for us. As my login causes problems [ :o) ] 0 Posted October 25, 2010 Not even a debate to be had the lad was always a great servant for us.Although the cheers and applause may dim as he scores number 5 :o(
blahblahblah 2 Posted October 25, 2010 Why so pessimistic two dots ?I should think that Barnett has the pace, and Ward has the nous to keep him quiet. They managed it against record SPL scorer Kris Boyd on Saturday, after all !
Mello Yello 2,572 Posted October 25, 2010
I just hope that someone locks him in the bogs at 5 to three on Saturday.
Perhaps even locking Bellers in the toilet of the official NCFC team coach.....He became quite accustomed to having that ''done to him'' when the squad were on the road - and young Bellers was a particularly vocal and arrogant 1st team ''Whappersnipper'' - and continually annoying the likes of Iwan and the other senior squad members.... Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted October 25, 2010 I remember his debut he scored 2 in a 3-3 midweek championship draw against Birmingham in front of about 9000 how some things have changed. he was great for us, we got good money for him and he has always been respectful about this club since leaving so yes i would give him a clap. The irony is if we could have had him on loan for a season his quality and goals could have made all the difference to a promotion challenge
As my login causes problems [ :o) ] 0 Posted October 25, 2010 To be fair three blahs ...He will not score five.I suspect he''ll score two and set up three !!
blahblahblah 2 Posted October 25, 2010 It''s more likely he''ll pull up injured, I reckon...
grantroederdisaster 0 Posted October 25, 2010 I apreciated Bellamy when he was at the club and the hefty fee we got for him. I suspect that deep down Bellamy would acknowledge what Norwich done for his career but I doubt that he gives really gives 2 hoots about us now. Therefore I''ll not respond in any form whatsoever! Chunky Norwich 0 Posted October 26, 2010 We''re probably one of the few clubs he hasn''t fallen out with or left under a cloud. We''re probably the club where he''s stayed the longest too (and no, not just because we had him as a kid).As previously stated by someone else, he refused to celebrate when he scored against us in the Premiership. He''s a bit of an arse in ''real life'' but he respects our club

He is a player I am pleased to associate with our club, and also one that I believe still has a bit of affection for the club. He''d get a cheer from me. Col Canary 0 Posted October 26, 2010 Bellers is a Norwich Legend. Fact. During the dark days of the late 90''s when we never got close to a promotion push out of the Championship he was the one shining beacon of light, real quality, searing pace, 110% workrate and he came through our youth system. We got loads of money for him and when reflecting on his career in interviews he always regrets leaving us to go to Cov where he wasted a couple of seasons. He has genuine affection for Norwich and if I was at Cardiff I would clap him. He''ll get a great reception at Carra Rud assuming he''s still fit by then! George Smiley 3 Posted October 27, 2010 Bellamy will always be a legend in my book , if fact before Muscat took him out he was starting to form a formidable partnership with Iwan (at his peak)and that season we were well on course for the play-offs under Rioch.Had he got through that Wolves match unscathed then he would have probably been in the Prem with us . Messiah 0 Posted October 27, 2010 I''ll cheer him.He works his @rse off during a match.Granted, he could start a fight with his own reflection but when all is said and done, he has always respected Norwich so he deserves the same from us.
Coelho 0 Posted October 27, 2010 Absolute legend. And he''s not a complete tool off the pitch – he''s invested loads of his own money setting up an academy to help disadvantaged kids in Sierra Leone. Sure he can be a gobby little git on the pitch, but his passion and commitment to Norwich was never in question. Anyone who boos him will probably end up getting a lot of stick from the people around them!
Duffman 0 Posted October 27, 2010 When his name is read out give him a big cheer but then as soon as he touches the ball boo him. Much like the ManUsa/Beckham scenario last season.
