Nunez injured

Recommended Posts

Did he go walking off or something?  This is crappy news as he's really started to find his place in the team. 😞

Do we know he’s injured? From Twitter, I just get the impression he was subbed after 71 mins.

Doesn't look too good, seems as though the match had a delay while they got him off the field and replacement on. 😞

This'll be the second time in the last 3 international breaks they will have sent him back with an injury

Time to start preventing him from going ,declaring him 'injured' before he gets injured..

This will probably mean that Sara has to move back into a midfield role and we won't be seeing the expansive style of play we have over the last few games.

These pointless international breaks are a pain in the backside.

Seems like the squad needs way more pre season training, as in AFL type pre season. It seems like the stamina just isn't there and too many soft tissue injuries.

Way too early to get worried, let's see what the club say next week.

Nah. Makes more sense to have a meltdown first.

Isn't Wagner known for having the most punishing preseason training schedule out of all coaches at this level?

It’ll be fine. Gibs can replace him. 😏

No no no! Gibbs has pace and therefore is a winger and a striker. Have you not been listening to Wagner? 😉

You’ve been posting on here long enough to know “chilling out” does no one any good  😊

There’s lots of injuries that are just an in-game ‘knock’, hopefully this just is one of them.

The timing of this international break for Championship sides is a bit trickier than usual, what with our league programme being on Friday - but at least this time for Nunez, Chile are playing ‘local’ nations (France is their next game, in Marseille on Tuesday).

It's no coincidence that Saka, Martinelli, Gabriel (All Arsenal) have pulled out of today's England vs Brazil match 'injured' ahead of Arsenal vs Man City next weekend. It's a ridiculous time to have International matches.

It's in the benefit of just about everybody for the season to have a 4-week break in November time, hold all the International qualifiers during this period (almost like a mini-tournament) and then the tournaments themselves in June/July. Scrapping the March and September International breaks and merging the October and November periods into one.

I don't think players are being issued with anything.

Elsewhere, there was a good write up on these types of injuries. The conclusion being that the intense training is putting too much strain on players leg muscles. That training is in response to the game also being too fast and intense. The FA recognised this a while back so increasing the subs to five. With the added time games now often last for 100 minutes.

As to Nunez the club should tell respond to these mickey mouse games by telling them to fck off. We pay Nunezs wages, not them This worthless nonsense obliges clubs to concentrate games into tighter blocks, for what ? So countries FA's can line their pockets at our expense

I’m sure Marcelino Nunez would be thrilled to be told he can’t play for his country because he has to prioritise Championship Norwich City.

Yeah, I think he might just be more excited to have scored for his country against France than about his upcoming clash with Plymouth Argyle.
