cambridgeshire canary 7,798 Posted January 1, 2023 Were we wrong to say that we should be beating them? Then again now I have said this just watch as they go and lose their next five in a row 😂

Branston Pickle 4,150 Posted January 1, 2023 We shouldn’t be so arrogant about these things - Luton and Millwall have both been dismissed by our supporters but both were top half of the table last season (Luton in the play offs) and all sides at this level know what they are doing. Clearly, our aspirations were for the promotion places and if we were playing to that level we would expect to be better than such sides, but they still take a lot of beating.
lake district canary 4,830 Posted January 1, 2023 It's clear that this season sees a lot of well organised and well functioning clubs playing effective and competitive football - and that means it's a real dogfight unless you are a class above them - and that only seems to apply to Burnley and Sheff Utd. Good for those two, but the rest of us are plainly going to be fighting it out for a top six place - from positon three right down to maybe 18th place, where a good run from any of those teams could get them up to the top six. That's 16 teams fighting for four play off places. Tough season. We need to improve or the likes of Sunderland, Middsbro and even Luton will beat us to it. GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,035 Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) Just one of 10 or so ordinary teams..ourselves included...scrambling around for 4 playoffs spots I bet Burnley and Sheff Utd cant believe their ease and the mediocrity of everyone else. Luton did us the biggest favour of all this season.. Edited January 1, 2023 by GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary
Nora's Ghost 157 Posted January 1, 2023 Luton don't wrap their players up in fancy training centres like 'The Nest' which has turned our lot into privileged prima donnas. It attracts the wrong sort of signings... wimps and showboaters afraid to break a nail.

The club just didn't take the hint.

Jim Smith 2,610 Posted January 1, 2023 We were well on top their second half and should have won. Their little run just shows how awful this league is this year
Jim Smith 2,610 Posted January 1, 2023 There sorry. The one thing I would say though is they looked fitter and physically stronger than us.
Capt. Pants 5,008 Posted January 1, 2023 I have to say this looks the slowest and most unfit Norwich squad I've seen for a long while. Some of it may be more a mental thing but crikey some of them really do need to get out of first gear. So are Luton the new Brentford? Nah, long way to go yet. TheBaldOne66 768 Posted January 1, 2023 To say we should be beating anyone shows how deluded some of our fans actually are, especially when they say it’s one of the best squads in the division when it clearly isn’t
Kathy 823 Posted January 1, 2023 Well the team might be but the ground certainly isn't. How that stand gets a safety certificate I'll never know.

You are talking about Luton not having a fancy training ground like the Nest. You then immediately follow up by saying this has turned our lot into privileged prima donnas. I’ll be honest, Luton have a training ground with more equipment and technology than the Nest called the ‘Brache’. The Nest is great but is a cafe, a lot of quality pitches and accommodation for visitors (plus a decent wooden play area). I think the straws you’re clutching are those ones from McDs that go soggy when you leave them in the drink too long.
