Right Wing Officially a Problem Position

Recommended Posts

Seems that since Buendia left no one has really looked at home on the right side of attack / midfield.

As good as Josh is he isn’t a wide player and never will be.

Sara was pretty poor last night I thought out there

Dowell again has looked unsure of how to play the position.

Todd is more at home on the left so in Hernandez

Which makes me think who actually is first choice for that role? I would argue Sinani looked the most convincing earlier in the season in terms of he knew how to play there and his link up play with Aarons was quite good. Is there an argument for playing Aarons right wing and leaving Bryam at full back.

Rowe looks to be back in training. I believe he would have been ahead of onel if he hadn't have gotten injured. Could be handy second half of season. Exciting prospect

Oh, I thought this was going to be going on about Truss or something 😉

I guess we often have Max popping up there, Byram isn’t quite as good offensively but I don’t mind, as he’s a better defender. You’d have thought it would be Onel’s better position, but it seems a fair number for wingers favour their ‘wrong’ foot these days. Maybe Rowe will be the man when fit.

'Right Wing Officially a Problem Position'

Absolutely. Tories or BNP, hard to tell the difference these days.

Or Bali Mumba….

A player that we aren't able to recall until 1st January?

Right, lets stay in the present shall we.

Why not give it a try? We seem to have tried many others in the squad.

Sargent will slot back in against Rotherham I fear though.

I wouldn't take that one to an open mic night if I were you.

I thought Sara was OK and that Dowell was excellent when he came on. However, neither of them were playing on the right wing.

This is actually something I called for last season -wWIth Williams at right back and Giannoulis on the left.

Think he'd offer more out there than Sargent. Probably Onel and Sinani too.

We've got a right winger in Rashica.  Would've been plenty capable at this level, but Smith see's that position as a way of shoe horning Sarge into the starting 11.

Emi wanted to leave in a season where he went on to break records.  Fact that Rashica may have wanted out is neither here or there.

But Sargent is the equal second highest scorer in the division. You’re not suggesting we drop him for Max are you? Or playing Sargent up front and dropping Teemu?

Who’d be a manager?! It’s not all endless mugs of tea and opportunities to put your hands in your pockets.

Really, he looked a class act actually.

The answer is that Max would give us width, but he does let us down defensively.

I dont think it is a problem area,  although we do seem to persist with in trying to shoe horn players who are better elsewhere on the pitch the  both Sara (far better centrally, whether as an eight or a tem) and Dowell (who should only even play no 10, or not at all) both seem a waste their talent there.

We have decent options there and Josh has scored plenty from there.   Personally I think that is Ramseys best position for us, and sinani started the season well there before seeming to have that coached out of him.    Max could be an option and his defensive contribution combined with Byram would be superior all the other options - and he has the engine to make it work.

I’m not saying there is not a player there but interesting just listening to the new along come Norwich podcast which contains the stat that Sara gave the ball away 7 times in the first half alone.

So lots of potential just maybe doesn’t know 100% to play the role yet.
