I can make the choice if I want to go, either free if I download their scabby App or pay. Others are not so fortunate

Why is it even worse? Clearly the idea is to use the event to drive subscriptions, can't say I see an issue with that.

I don't understand where the OP is coming from on this.

Archant are as entitled as anyone to levy a charge to attend one of their events. £15 is clearly set to encourage people to sign up to the subscription App. They're not a charity.

It won't make any difference to me. I don't want the App so accept I can't go unless I shell out the admission fee.

Events cost money to run. They have to hire the space, pay the people who work for Archant doing the event. Not sure why you think it should be free.

Er, pedantically, if like me you use a Windows PC, then it's those with a Windows PC or no computer. 

But even more pedantically, don't you use your smartphone for this site? 

In theory you don't need a PC at all to regularly use the app and benefit.  Am I alone in being a little confused by this rant?

I think an argument could be made that the £15 customers are heavily subsiding the app customers though, that should perhaps have been the line that the OP should have run with.

Feels very much like an £8.50 line up, with £7 of that being Sutton, £1 for Paddy and 50p for Southwell. 

At £15 I think they'd need to throw in another player, doesn't have to be A-list but an Adam Drury or something. 

Think Sutton even lives in Norfolk doesn't he, hardly flying in Safri from the Middle East and sticking him in Dunston Hall are they 🤣

Reads to me this is like a old fashioned membership system with non-members charged as per you'd come to expect with that sort of thing. The point I'd take from this is people wanting to go to the event, but not having access to the technology required to gain membership. Rather than it's £1.99 a month membership it's that plus the £££ for computer/smartphone. Hard to imagine people don't have certain things, but some don't

The point is, newspapers sales across the country are falling every year.

People are increasingly reading the news & sport on their phone, tablet or home/work computer.

It's not hard to see that this is an event to promote subscriptions to the Pinkun app. With it, you are supporting the future of local journalism.

I totally understand some people, the older generation especially, risk getting left behind because they either can't afford, don't want or don't understand contemporary tech. But that's a whole other discussion.

Don't worry wazzy it has been knocked on the head this afternoon until later in the summer. Being cynical i would imagine slow sales of 15 quid a go tickets might have had an influence.
