KeiranShikari 1,524 Posted February 1, 2022 Love that Gilmour's 'value' is pretty much the only one that's risen.
Dean Coneys boots 1,533 Posted February 1, 2022 It does rather reinforce the other thread on lack of ambition- we are diminishing not progressing at present

Haus 267 Posted February 1, 2022 How has Gilmour gone up by 50% ? and everyone else has gone down ?

That site would say we've just lost a £18m player in Cantwell but the combined value of Idah and Omobamidele is less than £4m. We've got 4 or 5 players in or around the squad between the ages of 19-21, given games that will rise. Also a few vialble young players playing at decent levels in the loan system. Difference between now and a couple of years ago is that our older core are stronger now and finances mean that there's no need for us to go into a Premier League season with such a young side. We'll probably have less booms in value but there should more stability going forward. All of that being said I would imagine a relegation would spell the end for few of the older members of the squad.
Dean Coneys boots 1,533 Posted February 1, 2022 Just now, Haus said: How has Gilmour gone up by 50% ? and everyone else has gone down ? Because he is young, contracted to Chelsea, extremely talented (even though he doesn’t fit the system we play and lacks bulk for a fight) and will go on to have a glittering career

Don’t be Krul 452 Posted February 1, 2022 On those valuations we got severely tucked up in the purchase of young Gunn

Look at our own midfield/ loans aside/ little wonder we struggle if this is anything to go by

Dean Coneys boots 1,533 Posted February 1, 2022 Quite. Remove the loans who aren’t ours and we have PLM at £6 ish and after that….not much in the centre of the park. I put wingers and wide players with forwards

We need a good steady run now with minimal injuries and lady luck on our side. Yep 💰 money helps that's for sure.

chicken 3,088 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) It's absolutely hilarious that anyone is taking any of this anywhere close to serious. Transfermarket is the most entirely unreliable source for player values. They'll put up totally inaccurate transfer fees even if they have been made public. Someone has then used this to write an article?!! And then some of you are using this to, yet again (shock horror), beat the club with. What a joke. Kenny Foggo 1,194 Posted February 2, 2022 Squad values can go up and down and all that matters is what people will pay for them at the time they want to buy them... Idah 5m before last couple of games.. what now? You never can tell.. But never put a value on here because someone will take a note and tell you, you're a very naughty boy if you change opinion 😉
hogesar 10,775 Posted February 2, 2022 Anyone who gives any sort of legitimate accuracy to those figures have literally zero concept on football transfers. They are auto-calculations just based on league division / purchase price (which they don't know most of, so they guess). It's just to generate a bit of traffic. The only reason to pay any bit of attention to it is if you want to make something up to criticis....oh hi @Dean Coneys boots
BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted February 2, 2022 In the Sarge-bash threads on here some posters were not only bemoaning the fee that City had paid for the player but some even suggested that he would be virtually valueless in the market should we wish to unload. Ninety minutes later and Josh Sargent becomes a double Premier League goalscorer, gets nationwide recognition and even wins a monthly goalscoring competition. What value now?
