dylanisabaddog 6,149 Posted August 6, 2021 The club has kindly offered to defer season tickets for a year because of Covid. Even with two jabs I'm still vulnerable and having seen what has happened to a friend I'm very nervous of Long Covid. Is anyone else out there a bit worried, especially after the Euros and Latitude? I'm desperate to get back to Carrow Road but I just don't know at the moment.

Hoping there'll be plenty on TV to keep me going.
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted August 6, 2021 Tough one Dylan. There are many more feel exactly the same as you. I'm not 100% sure either. I'd go today but circumstances could be different in a couple of months time. I think you have to go with your gut on this. It's not something that anyone is in a position to advise. One thing I do know is that things can change very quickly.
Branston Pickle 4,150 Posted August 6, 2021 It’s a tricky one - and it’s not ‘you’ but everyone else that’s the problem…your wearing a mask helps others but isn’t much use if others don’t/won’t do the same. I think I’ll give it a few games and decide how I feel.

Branston Pickle 4,150 Posted August 6, 2021 Oh dear, this appears to have fallen foul of the forum police - though 3-4 similar threads on Sargent are obviously fine….
dylanisabaddog 6,149 Posted August 6, 2021 (edited) I'm glad it's not just me that has doubts although I wish we were all bullet proof. Financially it's obviously better to defer for a year but I think I'll follow Branston's advice and sell my ticket to the club on a weekly basis. On the subject of Branston Pickle I heard a lovely story on R5 last month. England were playing cricket in the West indies and apparently they don't have Branston Pickle there and have never heard of it. A new England batsman was in the 90's and Bumble persuaded the loudspeaker announcer to ask Mr Branston Pickle to report to a steward. The batsman was bowled two balls later😂 Edited August 6, 2021 by dylanisabaddog 1
......and Smith must score. 1,600 Posted August 6, 2021 This is a very good question and there’s a fair few, including me, who are apprehensive about going from no big gatherings in over a year straight to full houses at Carrow Rd in just a few days time. I live with someone who is vulnerable and I’m nervous about bringing something back. In the end I expect I’ll go but I’ll be anxious for more reasons than usual this season.

As it stands you have to decide by next Friday for the whole season, when no-one knows from one week or so to the next what the situation and the regulations will be. On the other thread I did raise the idea of being able to defer for the first half of the season and then being able to decide again. But I get that the club would not be happy with the extra complication to the system.
city4eva 243 Posted August 6, 2021 I can understand people being reluctant to go I posted before the gillingham game that no masks were required, I went to the game and at a guess I would say it was 50/50 people wearing them in the bar area ( south stand) but once in seats , virtually no one wore them I also went to Jimmy Carr last night and the percentage of mask wearers was less than 50% there were no questions asked by security staff . by the time of the first game I think even fewer people will be wearing masks so you may want to bear that in mind

Capt. Pants 5,014 Posted August 6, 2021 Just to point out that despite the Euros in London, Latitude, F1 GP, The Hundred cricket matches with big crowds, infections are still reducing. I'm going. Simples.
Midlands Yellow 4,682 Posted August 6, 2021 I hope the majority feel confident enough to attend matches. None of us know how long we have left and this plague has robbed everyone of too much time already.

essex canary 623 Posted August 6, 2021 Under the circumstances apprehension is understandable. The Club ought to offer 100 per cent credit on a match pro rata basis similar to the method used for Away Membership refunds as distinct from £20 per match. That is only fair under the circumstances subject to the supporter giving reasonable notice of non-attendance. They should be able to re sell anyway providing they haven't set the casual price too high - which they may have done.

Mello Yello 2,573 Posted August 6, 2021 As well as showing your ST (or matchday ticket) for the game - will we also have to show our proof of dubble jabba jabba cards to get in?....
Sussexyellow 55 Posted August 7, 2021 Still unsure on this. No issues with going to Carrow Rd, it’s the potentially packed unventilated trains that bothers me.
