Are Arsenal taking The Pee ?

Recommended Posts

With no buildings open then I’m not sure how that works with workplace health and safety? No access to toilet facilities and washing facilities then if all buildings remain closed.

Opened up their training ground this morning for players to train alone with no club buildings open.

They are just going to do some running around the pitch, can’t see the harm or big deal myself. I remember after Mr Grealish had his booze up, he was putting “focus” Rubbish up on Instagram , where he was at villas training ground alone doing sprints.

Makes a mockery of the stay at home advice surely and are you advocating 91 other clubs follow suit Dr ?

I'm pretty certain we've had players do the same- I'm sure a couple of Timm Klose's posts have been from the pitches of Colney.

(Not THAT post, though)

Bloody stupid. The thing is that (akin to Trump's bleach speech) the great unwashed will think it's ok to go out and do 'exercise' in numbers, because Arsenal are doing it, even though they won't be aware of all the restrictions around it.

We are in the middle of a 3 week lockdown. Why do arrogant Arsenal think today is  the time to go training? Why not last Monday? Why this particular day? What do they know that the rest of the country don't ?

Set a bleeding example and stay at home.

Having  a slash against the hedge and using wipes wont  kill them. But it doesnt seem to me to be sending out the right signals. Members of the public will feel shortchanged if  already privileged   footy players are given leeway to ' bend' the rules. Solidarity is what will get the nation through this with the most positive outcomes all round

Oh trust me I know that, I work on construction sites that constantly break these rules. But if I’m caught with my wang out having a slash it won’t be on tomorrow’s front pages!!

Agreed Til, sends out the complete wrong message to the general public and is a bit of a middle finger to the NHS staff etc too.

I think a retired ex copper should make the effort and go down there and make a citizen’s arrest under the emergency legislation

Well as long as these heroic individuals have completed their intense impromptu footy training session maintain strict social distancing - whilst they mill around chatting about their salaries, flash motors etc.....and how they do so miss them trendy club VIP lounges, contained therein with attention seeking, goldiggin' tango skinned, Groucho Marx browed, beautiful blonde botox bloated babes......

Ooh.....the embellished envy and complete cynic in me......

If it was Dion, they'd need a double page spread, just to get the whole story in the picture. 😉👍

Bless em. They are worried about their health and mental state. And Mesut Ozil said it was OK to do it. What does it matter, I'll be gone after the end of June he says.

Mesut Ozil, the man who, if he could be bothered, has the talent to be at Man City, Barca etc.But has settled for high wages and low achievement. Seems like he just can't be bothered to put in the effort to be the best player that be can be. What a waste(r).......there's that missing R again ,Squitto.

Yep, there was a recent video of Klose with him at training pitches.  It dfinitely wasn't his back garden.

It depends on one's definition of training alone.  How many people will it take to enable this to happen?  It's not like a player goes in and trains and leaves the keys under the mat for the next player.

Yes, and was roundly criticised for resting on his laurels and putting sod all effort in from then on.  For all his technical ability, he lacks heart on the pitch. Not someone who has any relevance outside of the odd piece of magic on the pitch. He's a cruiser, not a battler.

Football players and football clubs hardly covering themselves in glory during these troubled times. Utter morons. Same goes for our lot if they've been using Colney.

So did Olivier Giroud

Funny, nearly mentioned him in earlier post. Not for being in same bracket as Ozil though. Giroud is not the massively talented playmaker that Ozil could be. He is a cracking upper Prem centre forward whos effort consistently outstrips his ability. The same effort that has persuaded Chelsea to keep him when he looked on his way out the door.

But I get your point Grandadio, winning a world cup says not much , other than you were  part of a squad that did.

They are going to very shortly, whether anyone likes it or not. Brighton have also gone back today, who knows how many other clubs have done it! Doesn’t matter what I advocate. The government have advocated it! I can’t see the problem if people are running around a field individually. It’s no different to what the general public are doing. I am totally against the whole idea of playing football together however!

What makes my blood boil is the story about hundreds of people turning up for the funeral of some gangster in Manchester and the police allowing it "to avoid a public order issue" (ie they were too scared to stop it) while us law abiding citizens are only allowed 10 people at a funeral.

A few of our players live in apartments next to the stadium, so they need to go somewhere to keep fit and training in private at Colney is obviously by far the safest option as it means no contact with the general public.

Can't see a problem with it.

They haven't been furloughed either have they so no possible conflict with not being allowed to work on furlough, as long as social distancing is adhered to.
