At least no one at the club, owners, directors, management or team have thrown the towel in.

Too many posters on here have not got the stomach for set backs.

Haven’t they? Would they openly state such a fact? I very much doubt it, Carrow Road would be more than half empty if they did, finances would become crippled, especially if relegation follows this season. Is not about posters having the stomach for set backs, it’s about the current playing and management having the stomach against those set backs currently taking place, and it looks strangely to me like they haven’t. Perhaps they know and feel that towel is being tugged away!

This is what you said and i will ask again what ambition has Norwich City shown to be in the PL in comparison to their competitors. Not interested in the list you trotted out with regard to other clubs because that is a distraction to what i asked so just stick to the post highlighted. Measure ambition for me with regard to what the club have actually done. All i see is firefighting not ambition.

Nope, they are our competitors, they are some of the clubs who expect to share time in the PL with us.

The word under scrutiny is ambition not competitors and obviously a complete waste of time asking to define the ambition with regard to Norwich City.

Ambition is defined as 'a strong desire'. The operative word being desire.  Unfortunately in your usual wolloy headed thinking you confuse that with achievement, which would suggest an end product.

To talk of fire fighting rather suggests two things.

One that somehow the club has got itself into a position where there is something to fight for and secondly that fire fighting is a product of a wish (strong desire) to retain that position.

Perhaps you would be better using your time to help old ladies over the road - as long as you don't bore the ar se off them by whining about how long it will take, and that you might have to wait to let traffic past first.

Haha!

I believe he thinks (if he does indeed think at all) that I must be someone else on the forum that doesn't like him but am hiding under this account. But I would imagine there's a bl00dy long list of peeps that don't like him so I'm not sure how he's going to narrow it down to who I "really" am!  I could be you Til!

He doesn't seem to realise that I don't need to open up another account to tell him I don't like him. He's not a very likeable fellow...and I do try to like everyone.

But that’s the point isn’t it. The latest financial statement doesn’t include the £100m for this season or the parachute payments. It shows really the cost of reaching the promised land which then gives us those riches.

Just think what a bit of “considered” ambition could do.

Damn it. I always forget that everytime our club does something well, even when its repeated multiple times, it's pure luck. And when something bad happens it's because our entire board are inept.

Sounds fair.

.....Yeah but apart from we the support, no one at the club, owners, directors, management or team - are currently throwing any of their money in......

Too many posters on here have not got the stomach for set backs......

.....although those too many posters on here, still have the stomach to back the club with their personal cash and disposable income.....

Jesus ! Have you got it in yourself to ever criticise the club and not just follow the leaders on here ?

I swear nobody who follows this club actually listens. We were told where we were before last season even finished: we were going to be doing this on a shoestring and if we could manage to survive then great, but if not then we'll go again a lot more financially stable.

I'm getting really sick of people having hissy fits about 'no ambition' and so on. Really, if you want vicarious success every single week then just switch to supporting Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea or so on. There's no shame in not bothering with the fact that it's a local club linked to the community and just going for a feelgood glow from the success of something that has **** all to do with you. Better than that than making it a misery for the people who just want to see the club do the best it can within the resources it has.

Yes, several times in the past. I just dont really think now is one of them. Especially when the problem most seem to have is that they dont have enough money. I find it hard to disagree because in football terms our owners are incredibly poor. But theres so many richer owners in this country who dream for our relative success.

Last season's bleat about the lack of ambition was all about that list of clubs. And how we didn't have the ambition to challenge in the championship with most of those clubs and we'd end up in league one with the rest.

You can read it all here..

How did they manage to confound your expectations and why don't you trust the club to do what's right now?

It's amazing what luck can bring isn't it? In the history of our club the last ten years will look amazing beside the vast majority of ten year periods.

Even in the last 4 years we've seen our club lift a trophy at Wembley and the coveted Championship trophy. I bet most other generations wish we had been so lucky in their time.

The point still stands

You have not posted for a week, despite the financial report and it's implications, despite us losing at home to the team bottom of the table without a previous win.

Yet within minutes of my posting up a light hearted dig, no moreat the usual moaners out you pop with a reply.................... having only logged in a few minutes before your reply.

What was so contentious about that post that you felt the need to log on and reply to immediately ?

This leaves us with the thought that either

  • you just happened to read the forum at the very point I put up that post
  • you were here all the time.

And given the over excited way you have continued since, I cannot believe that you have not been posting on here for over a week (I don't think that assessment requires a huge amount of deductive powers by anyone either).

By all means revert to your usual distraction of posting childish retorts. Try to align your self with 'everyone' else so as to isolate my observations, but the evidence stands no matter how you try to discredit it. Perhaps you could claim I stole money from the British Legion. The same branch I was with this morning, what is left of them. One that has never had £1000 in it's account since I have helped out. I doubt there is even £100 as the cost of the wreaths were met by a whip round last night.

Or maybe I was pi ssed as the dear old soul who I used to gve a lift to is now in a care home - but thankfully still has an alert mind.I called this afternoon for a chat and to let her know how things went. Quite difficult if I was living in France as also claimed by you.

And if you really had any interest or knowledge you would well know how things are. Most rural Norfolk branches are barely functioning, have merged or folded. But then that was never a concern of yours, the smear was only a means to try and deflect from my exposing your snide comments, as with those at hoolahan solo.

Finally, as said before, why you seem to have little else to occupy your time is your concern. However when it has you posting up lies and smears then I shall continue to reply accordingly. And if that means pointing out the contradictions and mistakes in your postings (under various names) then so be it.

What others make of it is for them to decide - all I can do is post up the evidence.

You've gone full crazy.

Which is more likely I wonder:

1) I'm on the forum 24/7 looking for your posts.

2) I come on from time to time, browse, and sometimes react as I see fit, normally on match day.

Hmmmmm. It must be number 1) because....duhhhhhhhhhh. 🤪

Says the man who's just written an extremely long post!

Sherlock Holmes you aren't son.

If you can't take being criticised, you really shouldn't dish it out Billy boy.

Anyway, time for work. Don't worry, I'll be logging on and keeping a watchful eye on your posts.... 👹

The club defined it pretty clearly - to become a top 25 club, so either in the PL or in the play-offs in the Championship. So no more time in the middle to lower reaches of the Championship or below.

The OP's view of "ambition" seems to be something akin to blowing your wage packet on scratchcards or in a casino. Such "get rich quick schemes" may work in a very tiny proportion of cases but are far more likely to result in ruin.

Real ambition for most people in their lives or at work, is the result of prolonged hard work over many years with resilience to overcome setbacks that will inevitably arise and let's admit it, a fair smattering of luck. It requires the strength to ignore the "dead cert tip" and the "cannot fail" investment.

The football league is littered with clubs that have "had a punt" in the belief that there is an alternative to building steadily upon solid foundations.

Don't confuse "ambition" with the "hot air" of easy solutions and one-way bets.

Hear hear. Seriously, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea et al are all out there waiting for their support. Switching allegiance to a new club is free and there are no exams to pass or queues to join, you can be a confirmed lifetime fan of Liverpool and appear as 'Diss Koppite' or whatever on their messageboards at anytime. You could even expect thirty million or so to be blown on just one player anytime soon, hell, you might even find Madders is playing for 'your' club again before the start of next season, how about that?

One simple little switch of allegiance and all your Norwich City supporting woes will be gone in an instant and you needn't worry about any of us, Delia or the clubs lack of ambition ever again.

That's something else that puzzles me. When people relate the clubs perceived lack of ambition to the individual supporters as in the accusations of "...how can you not be ambitious for our club/show some ambition for the club" etc etc. I don't know but I am sure I am not alone here-but my ambitions, such as they are, relate to me and my life and aspects of it that I can control and influence, not that of a business that I have absolutely no influence on whatsoever: haven't had, don't have and never will have. We're supporters. We may think that gives us some entitlement but it doesn't. Yes, we put varying degrees of money into the club but that is entirely voluntary, no-one signed a contract that said in return for buying 'x' season tickets, the club will do ensure that they match your ambitions for it.

The self sustaining model is set in granite. It isn't going to change anytime soon.  No-one is going to come along and gift the club billions of pounds anytime soon either. And yes, we may go down in May. But the start of pre-season training will still see Webber and Farke here and still see the same people in charge in the boardroom.

No-one has to like it. But, like it or not and despite all the arguments and angst, that is how it is going to remain.
