  1. I'm not completely surprised. I thought they gave us a good game at the Carra and were up for it in the cup.
  2. 6 to 7 % of the male population is colour-blind/ colour deficient in some way, the most common being red-green. This means that statistically one of the matchday squad is afflicted. I have never heard this mentioned in relation to football. For me - being red-green colour deficient - some matches are unwatchable because the strips are too similar.
  3. I had a spare moment yesterday and worked out the points per game table, which is as follows: Lincoln 2.00 Doncaster 1.92 Peterborough 1.88 Portsmouth 1.84 Hull 1.75 Accrington 1.71 Oxford 1.60 Lambo's Army 1.56 Which puts them at 8th. A Play-off place is not impossible, but at this stage of the season it is usually about momentum, which they lack. It will be telling when crowds are allowed back into grounds. Some of their fans are talking about potential gates of 9,000, and there being no enthusiasm amongst the next generation of fans, which is understandable. let this be a warning to those who knock our club - it is hard and skilful work to manage a club well, and all too easy to do the job badly.
  4. Indeed, it will be very interesting to watch how this works out. For the previous owners it is probably a good thing - they've got their money back, but if I was a Burnley fan I'd be worried. They are a side which has overperformed for some seasons and they are only a bad run from relegation in any season. I don't want to see this happen to our club, even if it did potentially mean some short-term gain.
  5. The weather has been s**t since the end of July. Loads of rain, not a lot of sunshine and below average temperatures. All really bad for keeping grass growing through the winter. Especially if people then go and run around on it. Spring cannot come soon enough.
  6. The real give away was the line about liking green Massey Fergusons - they've been grey, red and occasionally yellow, but never - to my knowledge - green. Also he'd want to be at the front, where you used to be able to hand-crank the engine. Puts a whole new meaning to a "pick-up hitch".
  7. Freeview channel 666 is the Dulux Channel. Tonight is Taupe in Eggshell Emulsion on a newly plastered wall.
  8. Emi Did well to keep his cool - right at the end when Placheta had his chance Emi was taken out after playing the ball and managed to not hit the guy - just.
  9. Second goal by CodTantwell, who was in the right plaice at the right time, and plays with real sole.
  10. I had to take a shower after working out that as things stand ITFC would be 7th in the table for "points per game" were things to stop due to Covid, being way behind the mighty Accrington Standley.
  11. Are there many examples of a team in the bottom 3 at the start of January buying their way out of relegation? I would say that it is becoming an increasingly unattractive course of action, given the prospect of being in the Championship with expensive recent signings and the struggle to offload high wage players. Given the compressed season this year I would imagine that there will be fewer loan options available too.
  12. Worst Ref I've ever seen? Mike Riley. Weak and ineffective. Thank goodness he's retired and doesn't have any influence on the game anymore.
  13. As one of the 7% of the male population that has some form of colour sight deficiency I am all in favour of big contrasts between the kits of the two teams. The other week I settled down to watch Liverpool demolish Palace and had to endure 22 players kicking the ball around between them in a seemingly random manner. I'm not saying that I like our blue kit, but Watford are going to be one of the teams who will force us away from the yellow and green when away.
  14. I've been to 3 away league games in my life and that was one of them. How I came to be there I have no idea, but I do remember how satisfying it was to beat them, especially on their home turf. It didn't happen that often in those days.
  15. Reminds me of the Christmas my Cousin asked for an ITFC scarf for Christmas and we gave him my NCFC scarf all wrapped up first. His face was a picture - in fact similar to most of the facial expressions seen at Portaloo Road for the last 2 1/2 seasons.
  16. He is targeted by the opposition all the time, so it's no surprise he gets fed up with it. even for Todd's goal Emi plays a great pass and Ralls tries to smash him into a equally aggressive Wilson after the ball has gone. It's those type of fouls VAR was designed to pick up on ( I know we don't have VAR at our level, but you know what I'm saying.)
  17. Ha. I was going to put 2Teleporter", but thought I'd get snide "Blake's 7" comments.
  18. The plan is to steal a telehandler and smash the cash-machine - that is the Premiership- out of the wall, do a runner, keep our heads down and do it again as many times as we can get away with. I think that Sheffield United are illustrating how difficult it is to stay in the Premiership. The pundits might have disliked our approach last time, but to go up to the Prem without planning to come straight back down again has become a foolhardy approach.
  19. That was the kiss of death. Jamal has done a good impression of Craig Fleming in the Prem - ie the person scoring is failing to be marked/tackled by Jamal.
  20. I had a trawl through one of the Blackburn forums and found a post commenting on how good Sorensen was, how little he cost and how much better our Scouting must be than theirs.
  21. Canos scored a good goal, but it was his first since April 2019. Would he have been a Farke style player?
  22. As we are digging over old ground again i will repeat my point that I'm sure we tried to get additional cover in, but also had in mind the long term cost - a decent loan signing would come with a clause about game time, and could we sign anyone decent who would be happy to just be cover? The goal here is promotion and any cover signed is unlikely to be decent enough to play in the Prem, so will just be playing for the U23s and drawing a wage if we get promoted.
