  1. He couldn't be worse than Newman up front ( I still have nightmares about that Wimbledon game)
  2. That's just the kind of slack interrogating which leads to the CPS dropping cases.
  3. Smith has certainly come in and made us better, but his true value will be shown next season when we are back in The Championship. I think we will look back in future years and think that the big mistake was buying in quite so much to the idea of Farkeball, and that when we went up the first time under Farke we should have bought a proven goal scorer and not relied on Pukki so much. I cannot see us buying goals in January, so our ambition should be to not finish bottom again, so we are not the target of lazy critics.
  4. I seem to remember where we have had free kicks and the opposition player has retired about 3 yards and we've kicked it at them. it hits them and the ref says "Play-on". I do have the feeling that one day it will come out how the results are being managed to favour the big teams and to enhance the "Product" that the Premier League has become.
  5. I don't think we got close enough to any of their players to run the risk of catching covid from them.
  6. There was a couple of lads at my Primary School by the name of Fashanu who were good for their age, but I don't know what happened to them.
  7. Might Mumba make a good winger, as he won't get much of a chance unless Max gets injured, or flies the nest? Not sure that Byram was up to speed. He lacked pace and committed a pretty nasty foul at that level. I'm not sure it was an 8 bookings match, but Byram's was deserved.
  8. Did this really happen? I hope so, although it doesn't really take away from the damage we all feel that he did.
  9. Let's hope he puts in an arresting performance, win a fixed penalty and do our fine city proud.
  10. Didn't we beat them at home once when the shortest man on the field scored the only goal with a header..."We love you Paul McVeigh and if it's quite alright..."
  11. It's definitely a jump, but not a trend. A good scientist would say we need more data - and more funding.
  12. Palace, surely. They gave us a masterclass in how to win in the Prem - training ground routines, professional fouls, big strong players. But if Jerome's goal had stood the momentum would have swung our way and our recent history might have been very different.
  13. Please give him hell, the fat incompetent Son of an unmarried Mother.
  14. The top teams often resort to Hoofball, but in their cases it is called a brilliant inch perfect pass and worldclass control and finishing.
  15. ...and this. But what?! No Trevor Hockey to add some bite to the midfield?
  16. I'm confused. What links Delia to the General and Municipal Boilermakers exactly?
  17. No. It was sad to reach the day when the Farke Era had to end, but our start to the season, combined with our capitulation two seasons ago indicated that Farke had not got to grips with life in the Premier league and showed little sign of making that adjustment anytime soon.
  18. HC - welcome back - I haven't seen you posts for some time, you're just in time to give the club a good kicking while it's laying on the ground and feeling a bit groggy. On other topics I agree, if they are both unsure they want the job they can go **** themselves and we'll appoint someone who wants to manage a top 26 club in "the best league in the world".
  19. Have they interviewed the Cleaner yet? He'd/she'd be like a new broom and would make sweeping changes. If anyone can polish a turd it'll be him/her.
  20. Was it Smith who thought McCormick was the answer? Smith is the right answer if we want to return to the good old days... of spunking money up the wall.
  21. Surely that fist-pump when he was at Aston Villa rules out Lambert? It was great for a while, but it is time to move on.
