  1. We''ve probably had more shots already this season than in Hughton''s last one, with mostly the same squad.
  2. Am I the only one who would prefer to keep RVW rather than Hooper (who couldn''t score against Shrewsbury by the way)?
  3. We could be 6 points clear by the end of October 😄
  4. Having read my post above a can see it could be easily misunderstood. Ricardo''s first paragraph said "the Canaries as they ran out with just one change from Tuesday nights draw at Huddersfield." I was making the point that Hooper was also a change, thankfully.
  5. Hooper was also missing from Tuesday night''s starting 11, thankfully.
  6. What''s the alternative; lose in the play-offs every year or be a team like Leeds that are pretty much guaranteed mid-table every year?
  7. As long as we win or we won''t hear the end of it from the Lennon fans... Imagine!
  8. "The shambolic way the club is run means that we won''t walk the league as we ought to" - heard it all now. Can you tell me a team that has "walked the league" in recent years after being relegated from the prem? The only ones I can think of that went straight back up were QPR and West Ham and both of those were via the play-offs (if I remember right).
  9. We could be top of the league (again) before November so no need to panic! I can''t believe fans are saying Adams is worse than Hughton; how many games under Hughton did we NOT even have a shot on goal? We don''t have a given right to win every game. There are some well established teams in this league that have been slowly progressing over recent years (Derby, Forest and dare I say even Ipswich) whereas we have had to regroup. And yes we have an inexperienced manager that isn''t sure of his best starting 11 or formation yet, but we are still challenging for the top spot so imagine when he gets it right!
  10. jas the barclay king wrote the following post at 25/10/2014 6:42 PM: the only people who have said We have the best team in the championship is our fans... where have the media or any pundits said it? Exactly! The same fans that moan about most of the players.
  11. I keep reading on here that we have the best squad and should be well clear at the top by now, but then I keep reading constant moaning about players: Whits not good enough, Turner been slated recently and Olsson''s final ball was rubbish today. BJ often being moaned about, Redmond hardly hits the target and Marmite Wes. And it seams like most would rather we had C. Martin and Holty leading the line up front! So how come people still say we have the best team in the champs? You can''t blame Adams for everything when we''ve had the most possession and shots in every game. We had 5 good chances today, not Adams''s fault none went in.
  12. He looked ok against Shrewsbury and had some good touches but was played out of position on the right. He didn''t seem to be on the same wavelength as everyone else tho and at times his passes went to nobody because he was expecting runs (usually from Whits on the overlap) that never happened. I too think he would be good in a 5 man midfield with Murphy on the left and Redmond on the right, but I can''t see Adams using that formation or surely he would''ve used it with Wes in the line-up. So I think it will be a 442 with Vadis on the bench and probably not even getting on the pitch tomorrow. Also some would think it''s being negative with only 1 up front, especially at home, so think we''re going to see pretty much the same thing again. Just hope we can convert some chances!
  13. Who would you play up front with Jerome on Saturday and who would be on the bench? It''s a tough choice! I can''t help but feel that if some of Grabban''s chances fell to someone else they would''ve buried them. I know he''s scored a few but some of them have either been second attempts or a lucky deflection, whereas some clear chances have either hit the corner flag or been miss-hit. (No he''s not the latest scapegoat before someone asks). But he does work hard so I think he will probably start again. Hooper didn''t look great in the U21s the other night and didn''t threaten against Shrewsbury the other week, but could that be a confidence thing? If he''s thinking he''s our 5th choice striker it must be disheartening. I think he probably would''ve hit the target more than Grabban with his chances but would he have put the graft in to create those chances? It''s a hard choice and I''d even be tempted to start with Loza just to mix things up a bit, but I think it will be either him or Hooper on the bench Saturday.
  14. Did Hooper even have a shot? Worse than against Shrewsbury.
  15. We''ve probably had more shots in total so far this season than in the 2 under Hughton put together.
  16. The one thing that worries me is we don''t seem to get enough bodies in the box, which is why I suggested trying 352. I''m sure there was a team in the World Cup that used that formation (can''t remember who) and they play attractive flowing football, even against the top teams, seemed to catch them out as if they didn''t know how to respond. Maybe I''m being more critical against my own team but I''m sure when you watch us play, the opposition always get more in the box when they attack (2 or 3) than we do when we attack (lucky if it''s 1 sometimes!). Maybe this is more down to tactics than formation tho? Playing 2 defensive midfielders perhaps doesn''t help but I''m not sure the diamond would work either. Who''d be a manager eh? :D
  17. To accommodate 2 up front and Wes behind, could we go 3 at the back or too risky? Martin, turner, Hooiveld. - Bennett, Johnson, Wes, Tettey, Olsson. - Lafferty, Grabban. In a 3412 / 3232 type thing. I dunno, I''m just glad I''m not Neil Adams.
  18. .... To sit on the bench, watch and learn, then maybe come on with 20 minutes to go. Start against Shrewsbury tho.
