Sunderland should stop paying him. Cancel his contact and let him go. He's allowed to sign for another club for minimum wage. 40hrs a week. He's only allowed to earn that for the duration of the cancelled contract. No massive sign on fee to get round it either. Should be standard in these situations.

I think 1 premier league team has made a permanent signing? That was certainly the case the other day. It seems clubs are now actually starting to be sensible finance wise. The Everton points deduction has really shot alot of clubs up! Arguably the most uselful thing everton have done in years! It may be that the days of big money transfers are numbered and its going to be more loans and swap deals from now on. The Premier league hype bubble may be bursting. Sorry for being so optimistic. Blame the endorphins from 2 hours drumming!

Maybe ive nissed this/am being dumb which is quite likely but... How do contract options work? Is it only something you can do at certain times? When the original contract runs out? For example sorensons contract runs out in the summer but he has a year option. Can he talk to other teams now as its almost over? Can we add the extra year now? Or do we have to wait till an hour before it runs out/he's packed to go then tell him he's here another year? With Rowe. His runs out in 2025 but with the option to 2026 it gives us extra bargaining power to sell him right? I think I need to get back on football manager so I can understand this stuff!
