  1. The worst case scenario is that we have the same team as this season minus the loans.
  2. I would accept 10 relegations to see the arrogant Everton fans who spout the ‘we’ve never been relegated’ (incorrectly they were relegated in the 1950’s), ‘remember your history’ bo11ocks. Their modern history would be the new Sunderland if they got relegated.
  3. COVID lockdown killed our momentum as we had started to put a few results together. On that basis I’d say the current team is far worse.
  4. Inherited wealth is different. You cannot help which family you were born into. Therefore you cannot punish someone for inheriting wealth. In any case if it’s a significant amount it’ll be taxed at 40% above the threshold.
  5. Footballers get a pasting for their earnings. I don’t ever hear anyone moaning about Tom Cruise and the like earning £50m for 6 weeks/months work making a film.
  6. This is incorrect. They are taxed a lot more. Over 12% extra once they’ve earned over circa £9,500 pa. For every £2 earned over £100k you they lose £1 of their income tax nil rate band thus making it a 50% tax on that chunk of money. Then you add NI tax and this would make the tax on this slice of money over 62%.
  7. Isn’t he on a free at the end of the season?
  8. We’ll have to send Toddwell to Ipswich on loan next season to scupper their mini revival in Div 1. But on a serious note, if I was Todd I would have a press conference at the beginning of pre-season holding his hand up to the terrible year, terrible form etc and how he’s going to give it 110% to get Norwich back up where we belong. A bit of contrition, humble pie etc. Hopefully this will buy him enough time to rediscover his form and gain that big money move.
  9. I agree, it’s the downing of tools in Norwich’s hour of need which annoys fans the most I’d say. Not only do we lose a potential asset and a game changer it seems to alter the chemistry at the club. The togetherness seems to be less evident thus making our already difficult task 100 times more difficult. With it we lose a potential £25m plus player (if he matured) for £11m if you’re lucky which hinders the club longer term too. In footballing terms Toddwell has pressed the nuclear button on the club, the team and the fans and this is why he gets the stick he does.
  10. People get too clouded with Cantwell’s 6 PL goals and forgetting how many silly mistakes he made that season that resulted in goals against. I would say he was neutral at best that season. Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t expecting 6 goals from him and he showed progress from the previous season. But since that promising 6 months the wheels have well and truly fallen off. Rachica’s problem is he’s in a team of no other threats or pace so he gets marked out of the game more. In a better team his results would be better. But maybe so would Cantwell’s.
  11. I’d sell: Aarons, Cantwell, Giannoulis, Placheta, McLean Keep: Gunn Big Andy, Hanley, Gibson, Zimbo, McCallum, Mumba, Byram, Hernandez, Sinani, Rowe, Tzolis, Sorensen, PLM, Dowell Pukki, Idah, Sargent Who I think we’ll sell: Rachica, Krul, Loans go back Buy Hourihane, Davis, DM
  12. Can’t see us buying either. Why would you buy Kabak and block big Andy’s progression? Normann is a nice to have but we need to go back to Lambert’s way of thinking, buy players who will play 40 matches a season.
  13. My views above:,_Kenny’s been awful, Sorensen has been good when he’s played. Reed was not good when he played for us but has done better for Fulham. Hugill is not good enough. But the rest I pretty much agree with.
  14. Krul Aarons Hanley Kabak Williams Sorensen PLM Sargent Normann. Rachica Pukki
  15. The problem with Canary Call is it seems to be a call in for Rob and his mates. It’s as if the same ole people are calling in asking Rob questions, but it’s Rob’s opinion that is pushed rather than whoever the guest is. Rob needs to facilitate not be the Rob Butler show.
  16. Definately. Fire sale of players, copious amounts of debt. I see another Sunderland brewing if they go down.
  17. I see Everton are in ‘discussions’ with the PL about their £230m rolling losses when their allowance is something like £105m plus COVID losses. I wonder if this has come to light now Uzmanov’s money has been sanctioned? Let’s hope they get caught out and have a significant points deduction and it might give us a better chance of staying up or going back up next year.
  18. Remind me of a match that McLean bossed a game? No, okay, remind me of a match when McLean played really well? Still struggling? Ditto Gilmour. This is the problem. Sorensen for example, you can name games this season that you can say he played really well and had a positive impact on the game and yet he’s hardly played. Neither Gilmour or McLean score goals/enough goals, create enough goals, are mobile, can tackle and what I would call have a footballing brain. I’ve said it over and over, McLean is not good enough for our team in The Championship let alone the PL. Gilmour is not our player and as it seems like we’re going to go down we need to play Sorensen or Rupp (one of our players) to prepare for next season.
  19. I think Rachica (if he can keep up his recent form) will be definately saleable. I think Sarg needs a prolific season in The Championship to develop ditto Idah before anyone will look at them.
  20. I agree with most of what you say, I would add that we’re buying players to improve and sell in for a profit. Would we achieve that if we go down? Max, Rachica & Cantwell will be sold for significantly more than we got them for. Giannoulis will be sold for a reasonable sum. There may be others. This will be the budget for next years assault on a promotion campaign. If we buy well, get promoted developer and see if we’re closer to staying up in 2 years time. Until a billionaire owner comes along with sound ethics, this is the way. The strategy. We need to get on board with the plan until we have a change in ownership (which I’m not advocating).
  21. I always liked Onel. Fitness let him down. He looked too bulky last season when we saw him in my view but now he’s playing he looks like he’s trimmed down a bit. I’d give him another go if we get relegated. He’s far more productive than Placheta.
  22. Pukki can go and bench warm or play week in week out and bag 15-20 goals next season. Idah will be the next cab off the rank.
  23. I agree. Although Sorensen is physically not the quickest he strikes me as though he has a footballing brain and is prepared to get a tackle in early. This helps us with our counter attacking. He can also pick a pass. All of which neither Kenny or Gilmour can. Our best midfield is Sorensen at the base, Normann and PLM. With Normann pushing forward we will be more creative and both Normann and PLM are prepared to shoot from the edge of the box.
  24. I’m better than McLean and I’ve never played football at any particular level.
