1. i doubt SSN have any better an idea to whos injured than us- lambert keeps it all close to his chest and they wont know the team till tommorrow when we all find out, but i am getting worried its holt or another big player otherwise he wouldnt remain unnamed would he- maybe no-one injured and just a ploy from lambert into getting QPR to get complacent- i doubt it, but would be nice
 2. no idea what thats about, prob just means cant get on the site for today, hopefully be back up tomoz, but im just guessing
 3.
Grant holt has picked up an knock in training during the week and will be out for uptoo a couple of weeks. Wilbraham will go straight into the starting lineup tomorrow, thats why he had to be loaned in first.
if u seen this on the city website why even say its holt, your as oblvious to who it is as any of us, or do you have another source!?
 4.
Christ i''ve really had enough of this. If I had to pick over Lappin and Surman I''d pick Lappin everyday of the week. He''s never injured, is consistent with his performances, and let''s not forget HE''S PRIMARILY A LEFT WINGER, shows the most passion for the city cause I''ve seen in a yellow shirt (just look at his reaction when we concede compared to others around him, I''ve seen him go mental on numerous occasions after a goals gone in), he has the best left foot and cross of anyone at the club including Macca, gets stuck in works hard is no prima Donna like Surman. Lappin is solid, dependable, consistent with performance and can play in 3 different positions, has never let us down and for me is decent in every game. People should stop blaming him whe the team plays bad. Where the he''ll do you justify laying any blame at Lappins door yesterday? In the first half, Crofts, Fox, Holt and Martin were terrible yet Lappin gets the blame for it. I''m sick of the likes of Surman and Whitbread flattering to deceive, give me the likes of Lappin all day long.
spot on mate, Lappin is one the best servents i seen for the club, not naturally the best player we have seen, but brilliant left foot i agree, he does get caught out sometimes at lb, but so does martin at rb and the majority of times thats because of the formation we play.It pises me off that people say surman should automatically be in the team ahead of him as-well, we are yet to see ANYTHING good from him, hes played couple games, done nothing yet everyone says he looks another class- its only cos he cost us quite a bit of money that everyone automatically loves him, most the people praising him on here im sure have never seen him play a good set of games (by that i mean more than a couple in a row) so they cant say hes better than lappindont get me wrong i hope surman could be class for us in the future but he has done nothing to deserve the praise he gets YET, unlike lappin, he deserves the praise for what hes given us over the years, and espically this year- he stayed at carrow rd when he wasnt getting played for over a year- that''s dedication and if people have to rip on him still you really are fickle fans
 5. does anyone know the mk dons fan website so we can read what they are saying about him leaving.just read someone''s posts about the effect a manager can have on a player and he''s spot on, lambert has managed to bring the best out of this group of players, some who i honestly didnt think were gonna stand a chance this season in the champ- russel martin is a prime example, he was made to look silly for peterborough in this division, but look at him under lambert, same with lappin, hes playing the best i have ever seen him play and so was drury before he got injured- back to the form that won him player of the season for us few years back
 6.
I wonder though, this purchase strikes me as a little odd, I don''t really see why we need him. We don''t have too much trouble scoring with Martin, Holt and Hoolahan, plus we have plenty of backup strikers. So I''m leaning towards that this is not a cover purchase, but a replacement purchase and that leads me to think who might be most likely to leave.Otherwise personally I would prefer the money spent elsewhere such as our defence.
replacement striker for 100k, are u joking, hes back up for sure
 7.
Do you reckon if we went to Aresnal and put one million on the table for him, they would accept? He clearly isn''t going to get in the first team anytime soon! I know £1Million is alot of money to us but if we want to get out of this league they are the kind of risks we need to take!
no chance, worth much more than 1 million just because of potential- thats like someone coming in for korey at 200,000 or something, just wouldnt accept it- if wenger didnt rate him he wouldnt be putting him out on loan, he just wouldnt be in the arsenal squadwill be a starting prem player in the future for sure too. However i think wenger let bentley go for free after his contract ran out but i think that was cos bentley wouldnt sign another contract, not sure thoughwages though i doubt he''s on much more than our average player.if its only short term injury still like see us bring him in for the rest of the season
 8. holt, jackson and martin? is this whats expected or just a personal guess?
 9. anyone know if this game is online anywhere? i cant find it anywhere
 10.
From today''s Yorkshire Post: Reflecting on his time at Norwich, Evans said: "It was a massive learning curve for me because it was a long way away from home and it really made me grow up quickly. I scored 10 goals and helped them stay up, so it couldn''t have gone any better, but I want to go back there and score against them for Sheffield United". Those words don''t suggest he has much intention of playing for Norwich again in the near future!...
got to remember though the majority of time words mean absolutely nothing in football, course hes gonna say he wants to score, he''s there striker at the moment, we would expect every single one of our players to say the same, whether there''s rumours hes leaving or not. sometimes people read way to much into what is said by players and managers in the press- like lambo saying were punching above our weight. It''s football, half the time there agents are telling them what to say anyway- not having go at your point here mustard, still interesting to see what he said, but do have to take everything with a pinch of salt in the football world, however i dont think he will be coming to us, not unless we shell out quite bit more than Shef Utd paid for him, but would be a great addition if we did, best finisher i seen at carrow rd for a while i thought.and to tilly, not everyone does these searches to see what threads are already up, i never look past the first page on the discussion board and didnt even know about the search function- if someone puts up a thread u dont like, just dont respond, its preety easyAnyway, lets hope he dont score today and holt pops up with a couple and lappin the 3rd- 3 1 city!!
 11.
I find it a little hard to believe a Premiership team would be interested, especially for £600k
Why do you find this hard to believe, hes proven to everyone this year that he''s one of our top players, i think he''s been consistently our best player this year and not surprised hes being linked to prem team, and at anything less than a million its prob worth a punt for a prem team if they are in need of a rb.however i dont think he would be sold at anywhere near that price, to low, wouldnt be possible to find a better replacement and its still our only position where we have one natural player
 12.
For him to play for Tottenham won''t they have to name him in squad of 25 not listed I presume loan will be for rest of season.  However do we really need him?
im guessing that the 25 man squads you can change in january anyway or something of the sort because clubs will be buying players in january- maybe at the end of Jan they rename thier 25 man squad? i could be compleatly wrong, just having a guess
 13. yeah i saw this and was wondering if he would go to a championship or prem club, i think harry will send him out to champ for a month, just to get match fix. He wont want him going to a prem club i doubt and i dunno how many prem clubs would offer him first team football guaranteed for that month, Harry will send him to a club where hes guaranteed to play and i think that will be in the championship. I personnally wouldnt want a 1 month player at CB, i think its important to have a solid consistent partnership and bringing him in could ruin that and maybe even morale.People will prob say what about wages, but im sure if he does go championship, it will be like bellamy, tottenham will pay most his wages.I''m interested to see where he goes, hes a very good player, but i still wouldnt want him for just  a month.Merry Christmas all
 14.
Jesus, isn''t it obvious that this is Lambert''s pyschology.   We had another manager who kept saying we need "x" points to be safe from relegation when we were at the top / near the top of the league.   "Punching above our weight" = Lambert taking the pressure off.   IF we were to get promotion, and it is a massive IF.  I honestly belive it would be the making of great things to come and that is even if we came straight back down.  We could clear our debts in one fell swoop and we would have the parachute payments behind us on top of no debt / interest payments to sustain an even stronger push for promotion the following season.  Another season or two in the Premiership and we would be expanding the stadium.  With McNally et al we would not make the same mistakes we made the last time we went up.
It would be great if we got promoted first time round, but i would be a little worried that if we did come straight back down we could struggle- we could lose lambert to another team, players who helped us get out of the championship may not be there any longer etc. I''m not saying this will happen and i think it prob would be great for us to go up even if we did come straight back down- enables us to clear our debts and hopefully build for a good future, but if we did lose someone as important as lambert after that it could lead to us struggling around the championship again for a fair length of time as we struggle to find another manager who brings out the best in his playersBack on topic though, lambert is just keeping everyone''s feet grounded, he knows we are doing better this seaosn than probably even he expected- we are where we are not just because we are playing, but because a lot of other teams are performing badly/worse than expected- in this sense we are punching above our weight and those teams such as middlesborough are punching below thier weight. Ricardo and Lincoln (don''t mean mention just you too, but yours are the posts i can remember right now) your just using different ways of judging what our current level can be- its not something you can really argue about as your both right, if it was judged on history then yeah we are probably just where we should be or a little below, but if done in recent form then we are defiently punching above our weight. You cant say either is right or wrong, thier just different ways of assessing the situation
 15.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/9313126.stm Pretty much all been said before, but key points: a) It seems that Lambert knows EXACTLY who he wants, and McNally has implied we''re close to completing a deal. b) McNally has said the club are ''content with its position regarding first-team squad contracts'' and that there is no risk of a senior player leaving on a free transfer in January or the summer. All very positive, as it suggests contracts are being sorted for the likes of Hoolahan/Nelson/etc, which is definitely good news! I''d be surprised if Askou stays though...
couldnt sound any better really, looks like we are gonna try push on in the 2nd half of the season and see what happens. I''m just curious to see who we bring in, but i trust Lambert and McNally
 16. I rate wes a lot, very good player, but can understand some peoples problems with him, he can be brilliant, but when hes not having  a great game he really is quite inneffective. I am worried about his contract situation, maybe he already has another move lined up, he can sign a pre contract agreement with a club next month so surely if Lambert were, looking to keep him he would already have him signed up to a new contract, i havnt even hear of talk of contract negotiations, has anyone else?I remember when Lambert first came to the club, he dropped hoolahan and doherty instantly, not really sure about the reasoning behind this but it did do a world of good for Wes. Didn''t Hoolahan play for Lambert at a different club as-well, or am i imagining this?On another point, would people prefer to see Wes sold for cash in Jan, or allowed to go on free in the summer. I personally dont think we should cash in on him, as players with 6 months on their contracts barely get a good price and if he can help us claim a play-off place this will be much more beneficial. Hopefully though we will see him sign new contract soon
 17.
Hes a young footballer with another potential 10-13 years of football left in him. If Chrissy focuses and continues his current progress he could quite realistically play for England. True he has a long way to go, but give it 2 to 4 years and maybe Chrissy could be the finished article. I like the way he is growing, I certainly wont rule out an England cap, not yet anyway.
is this serious?? martin is never going to play for england, im sorry, i like him but he doesnt even come close to having the potential to play for england, compare him with someone of similar age like Daniel Sturridge or Nathan Delfouneso (i think thats his name and either would be a nice loan signing)- i never see him coming close to beating guys like this for a place. Could see him getting into a scotland team in the near future, but as already said before i dont think its right unless hes got the passion for it- one the biggest problems with International football is the lack of passion you see from players these days, espicially England- however saying that, if he was playing International football, it would only benefit Norwich and hopefully increase his value too
 18. i think 3 game ban and that''s not making an example, what he did was stupid, but i think his apology will help it from being any longer- between 5-8 games. you cant throw a ball at a ref, i will be very happy if its anything less than 3
 19.

i really cant see any positives about changing the schedule. Except maybe a few games are saved from being postponedthe summer break coincides well with what supporters are doing, the majority of supporters take their family holidays at this time as kids are out of school etc. season ticket holders across the country would be gutted if they were missing games as they were on their family holidays- im sure this would leave to the divorce rate increasing further as couples argue about whether or not they will be having a holiday this year or stay home to watch their beloved football clubs. With that will come more depressed single lonely football supporters who are having to eat away thier depression of recently becoming divorced. With this influx of fat supporters, clubs will have to half the size of their grounds as seat sizes will have to double to compensate for these extra large arses and with that club profits will fall and football will disintegrate into nothing- it is for this reason i dont wana see the football schedule change. In all seriousness though the christmas football schedule is one the most enjoyed times of the season, i prefer nothing more than going to watch city play on boxing day. also during summer you dont want spend weekends watching football, but when its cold a weekend of sitting watching football suddenly becomes a lot more attractive. Although i have to say i like the idea of more later afternoon and early evening games. theres also the problems of the european and world cup torunaments, it would have to be every country who changed thier schedule and that''s never going to happen.lets save the summer for the major sporting tournaments, liek the world cups, the olympics, athletic championships and all that, if we didnt have football during winter to watch what would we have?
Unfortunately its not just a ''few'' nowadays though is it?. If our attitude to bad winter weather was as it was 20 years ago, when Ipswich v Leicester scenes were commonplace and people just ''got on with it'' then the whole issue wouldn''t be such a problem. With many grounds having undersoil heating playing in the winter should be even less a problem however over the last 7/8 years a new phenomenon has crept into football.......   That being the issue off games being called off at the drop of a hat because ''the approaches to the ground aren''t safe'' !!, this was something that never happened in ''my day'' and whilse it continues to happen we will always have wholesale postponments accross winter resulting in increasingly large backlogs of fixtures.
you make a good point here, the health and safety rules creeping into football are becoming stupid- no standing in the ground, no drinking alcohol in site of the pitch, no caps on bottle drinks allowed etc. It''s getting ridiculus and someone needs to step in and stop it getting out of hand. Changing the calander shouldnt be the solution though, we need health and safety rules which show a bit of common sense.out curiousity what was the reason the chelsea v man u game got cancelled- was that because of the state of the picture or because of the ''unsafe apporach to the ground''? just wondering.
 20. i think the clubs statement is absolute fact here, and they aren''t trying to raise his price as you see lots of the times with the hands off warning. No club in thier right mind would sell thier most influential player, espicially when they are exceeding thier own expectations and have a great chance of beating thier 3 year plan to get into the premiership. Also at his age we wouldnt get more than a few million for him and in all honesty thats not going to bring in a better player- espicially at holt''s wages. The right thing to do now would be to gamble like we did when we got promoted from this tier last time and that appears to be what is going to happen from lambert and the clubs comments- i''m 100% sure Holt will stay, just because the club wont sell him and he wouldnt force a transfer even if he did want to leave, at least not in January, and im preety confident we will see 2 talented players come in this transfer window too.
 21. it has to come down to whether or not he feels scottish. I dont think its right to represent any country at a sport unless you feel that that country is your home country or you feel patriatically (or however thats spelt) for it. On the same logic i think its prob fair for an international player who moved to england at a young age and learnt thier trade in this country mainly and they want to represent england and have a passion to play for england then that should be allowed too. Same with managers, i have no problem with a foreign manager being in charge of england as long as he has managed in england for many years- like Wenger or O''Neil. Your parents blood isn''t the only sign of nationality in my eyes. But i don''t see any point in playing for a country just to get an international cap, you need to want to and feel like your that nationality too

 23. http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/TVGamesDetail/that doesnt have us down for any sky games in the next 3 months. Obviously though if we keep challanging at the top the table we will have more fixtures on the football leagues main game, giving us online streams, but not looking good for having an games on sky
 24.
I do go to games, i have been a season ticket holder for 8 seasons, and i have only missed 5 home matches this season (because i''m at University in Canterbury, and can''t really afford the £30+ train tickets for every game), and i don''t tell you how good/bad players are i give MY OPINION.... I have never even listed to Canary call let alone phoned in... I have not asked for anyones back up? And stop acting like you know me, you have never seen me, you don''t even know my name, so for goodness sake just give up. Just because you don''t agree with all my opinions, does''t make them sh*t, and doesn''t mean you have to act like a w*nker does it? Do you actually read your own posts?
I compleatly agree with you ginger and Adam your talking some shit, people get on each others back so quickly on here, i gotta admit a lot of people talk some rubbish but everyones entitled to an opinion, i go uni aswell and cant get to as many games as i used to when living in norwich with a season ticket, it doesnt make my opinion less or more valid than anyone elses. i''m just glad were back int he championship and doing well to get the online streams
 25. Hucks, firstly thanks for your time at NCFC, truly were exciting to watch and you''ll be remembered as a legend here forever. now arse licking aside, i have quite a weird question and not expecting any help, but i guess if u dont ask never get anywhere.i study law up at Leeds uni and been hoping when i finish to go into sports agency/player representation. Its real difficult to find a firm to gain some experience with though, so just wondering if there''s a firm that deals with a few of the Norwich players that you know of, or whether most players have individual agents? Any help would be much appreciated, but not expected, cheers!
