Brilliant goal from us, but Gibson's 'outmuscling' of their defender ... snigger ... 😵😁
-
Another point in Sam's favour is his excellent heading ability.
-
Max could be great when attacking, but defensively he got outmuscled far too often. Basically he just wasn't big enough.

He might even start playing Maddison, the one most likely to create something out of nothing. -
ESPN commentary says he was injured 😟

seem pretty sensible. Hope he's right about us!

Echo those sentiments sonyc. Personally I love art that is ambiguous & unresolved, working on different levels, it reflects the way the world seems to operate to me. Everything going on all together at the same time, contingent & impossible to disentangle. For me a good work of art is never prescriptive but suggests, points outward to an infinite world of possibilities - it applies to painting, poetry, sculpture, every field of artistic endeavour. And in doing so it tells us more about ourselves. Art is the science of complexity, & we know of nothing more complex than human beings. Makes life bloody difficult sometimes though!

Getting re-obsessed with Donnie Darko lately. Fabulous soundtrack; I've only just found out who made this track (which definitely has echoes of Gorecki)

I found his reaction to playing against Liverpool interesting - & heartening. He said it really made him want to play in the PL, no mention of being humiliated or made to feel inadequate. He seemed to imply this was how the players felt in general; complete contrast to the many scaredy-cats on here who quake in their boots at the prospect of our often losing (sometimes badly) against the best teams. It clearly inspired him to give promotion his best shot, & I think it may have inspired a few others too. Footballers are people, & just as anxious to prove themselves as someone to be proud of as the rest of us. As they both said, if we get into the play-offs we have the players to cause a real upset, & Gabby for one is relishing the prospect. -

I'm seeing definite signs of improvement as he gets more time on the pitch. I'd say he looks to have more footballing nous than Idah, if lacking in pace & physicality by comparison. Will he keep on improving at his present rate? Who knows. But I'm not writing him off yet.

Can I just add that the situation was compounded by another useless ref missing a blatant handball for Hull's goal the previous evening. A certain Mr. Stroud ....

I never warmed to Howson. I didn't understand why he was captain - far too shy & hesitant when he spoke, certainly not an inspiring character. Although undoubtedly an excellent footballer, he always seemed to keep the club at arm's length, so to speak, never fully engaged, which I initially put down to his shyness, but came to believe that he really just didn't want to be here.
