1. I would have been the first person to get on Nelson''s back after his disastrous start to the season (when he clearly looked out of his depth) but to be fair to the guy, he must have hit the training ground hard and I think he really started to improve his overall game. Also won player of the month at the end of the season, so he must have been doing something right. He has courage in spades, isn''t afraid to get stuck in and puts his body on the line week in week out. Isn''t that what us English football fans like to see from a centre half? However, I am concerned about a potential Ward/Nelson CB partnership next year as the lack of pace between them is terrifying. On the face of it, it could look promising. An old fashioned blocker/hoofer with a guy who can play a bit. But, I think they''ll get badly exposed. I don''t think Askou is the best defender at the club, but he certainly impressed me at the start of the season and it was a shame he got injured. He''s most definitely the best header of the ball we have, but his distribution needs serious work. What I can''t understand is why everyone is rating Whitbread so highly?? We''ve seen, what, about 2 hours of football from him and I really don''t think that was enough to judge him. He looks comfortable on the ball, but got caught out quite regularly when I saw him play. Yes, he comes with a glowing reputation and a decent pedigree but, as we''ve seen in the past, this isn''t necessarily a reason to think he''ll be any better than any other defender we have at the club.I''m going to trust Lambo and wait until we''re a few weeks into the season before I make up my mind!!
 2. Yes, as has been metioned earlier, most of the sales and promotion are conducted online these days for the useless waste of space that the UK top 40 chart is. It only exists in order to line record producers pockets. So, anyone could go and download this track and help boost its chart position and I''m sure there were a bunch of folk who found it novel. What we''re missing here is what made it "topical" or, god forbid, "current". There happens to be a radio DJ who, unbelievably, occupies a seat for pretty much THE most listened to radio show on that Radio One. Which is a fairly well listened to station I''m led to believe. Said chap also happens to be a Leeds fan and a moron.I''m sure this helps when trying to rehash a boring old song that nobody would ordinarily be bothered about. Are we clear now? Stop your internal monologue, this is the TRUTH!
 3. Yes, Bear Suit and Splendid Lieutentant are good uns, but there are a number of awesome bands in Norwich. I''m going to do some promotion for my friends bands and suggest you check out Men (of the UK) and Olympians (used to be called Hair Traffic Control). Both completely great. Pennines are also a top band but they don''t play in Norwich that much. One of the guys lives in London but is from Norwich and the rest of them live here. They''re all on Mybook or Face Tube. Check ''em out!
 4. Man, I can''t wait! This game is going to be a good ''un! So glad the stream is about, because it''s the first home game I''ve missed in a while.
 5. Yes!! I''d love the link too please! I think I''ve found some sites, but need a back up plan! Cheers in advance guys.Rob

You can actually do a "ROFLCOPTER" now, whereby you roll around on the floor laughing so much you actually take off. These acronyms are just getting crazy.
I know it''s a pedantic point of grammar, but ROFL isn''t an acronym; it''s an abbreviation. An acronym is an abbreviation that spells a proper word. Righty-ho; back to studying my pedant''s handbook... :-)
AAAGGGHHH!!! Why doesn''t this forum work properly!!?? It IS an acronym you pedantic fool! abbreviation - a shortened form of a word or phrase acronym - a word formed from the initial letters of the words in the phrase Stop messing with our language and making stuff up. AAAGGHHHH
Concur.Ps. Cheers for getting the dictionary definitions. I would have done it myself but I was too busy doing a roflcopter. Srsly. Pps. Man, I''m starting to pi$$ myself off. [;)]

 8. I''m not sure if Grant has picked up any reds in his career. I''d like to see the stats. The reason I''m thinking this is because I remember him saying in an interview that he''d most probably pick up plenty of yellows, but "never a red".Oh dear! Probably seems like a silly statement now. But I don''t care. The man is well on his way to beating a long standing goal scoring record and is 100% Norwich City. Pure commitment and heart every game.
 9. To be fair, there are some pretty funny pictures/comments on that thread. Like, the doctored picture referring to Tony Mowbray''s monkey head. Oh, and the guy who says "he''s still got a face from a Hovis advert" is pretty right on! By the way, that Jimmy Bullard gif is amazing!!
 10. How''s about going for one of the San Jose Huckerby shirts?? Those things probably come in XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX......ahem....XXXXXX L
 11.
Like so many charitiesTHfH is a very worthy charity and I have made donations on a number of occasions although I don''t understand how it is that the State is incapable of providing the means to care for the men and women who risk their lives for us when you consider how much we pay in national and local direct and indirect taxes and NI and the staggering amount of taxpayers'' money obscenely squandered on people and causes which seem to me to be completely unworthy and undeserving. Anyway, unfortunately I can''t afford £10 plus booze so I''m off round to Jas''s on 24th.
Nah. It''s because they spend all of that money on bombs.
 12. £170,000 would probably get you a nice 3 bed terraced house in the Golden Triangle. Great area for pubs, amenities etc. It is full of student types mixed with affluent families, so it depends on what you''re looking for. The houses there generally have nice Victorian or Georgian features and it takes about 10 mins to get into the City Centre. Other areas that have been mentioned (like Thorpe St Andrew, Taverham etc) would be great for families, but probably a bit more pricey for a decent 3 bed place. Although, the varying new builds that are about may go for a good cost. Likely to find a semi-detached on that budget. I live in the North City and it isn''t a bad place to live at all. Lots of good ale pubs close by, I''ve never had any grief and the people are generally cool. Plus, there are developments ongoing to improve the area. Could be a good place to make money on your crib in a few years! I like it here. Then again, I''m only 29 and don''t really have any other commitments.Oh, by the way, Chesterfield Canary. I''m diggin'' the Joy Division sig!
 13. Anyone see the Liverpool vs Everton game today?? Fellaini did pretty much exactly the same thing as Holt and didn''t get sent off! He also managed to get Kyriakos an early bath. I''m sure Holt feels bad that he couldn''t be involved today, as I believe it would have been the perfect game for him and he could have maybe helped change the outcome. However, we won the other two games (albeit in a sloppy manner) and I think that shows we have real promotion credentials. I do think a target man as a back up for Holt would be a great signing, as Martin is clearly better when he gets to link up and play off a bigger striker. As for Holt''s sending off, let''s hope it''s a blessing in disguise and he''s had time to shake off any niggling aches and pains.
 14.
Nope, just stating facts. Leeds have won more points thus making them the best team in league one.
Ah!! Yes! I think I''ve figured out why you''re called Spain boy. Just stating facts hey? Remind anyone else of a certain Rafa Benitez??? [:)]Listen, historically Leeds are a bigger club. I agree. However, that doesn''t change the fact that we''re both in League One right now and currently Norwich are playing some great football and happen to occupy the top spot. Leeds have had a blip, but I''m sure the signing of McSheffrey will help to boost your chances of finishing as Champions. If I''m honest, I don''t care where we finish as long as we get out of this league. I just want to keep going to CR and keep seeing good football. The will to win and passion that we''ve displayed over recent weeks has been hugely commendable and is indicative of League winning form. Simples.
 15.

The board have control over the newspaper. [:#][;)]
In a nutshell - well said.
Absolute BS, if you actually read all the reports you will realise that the injuries are mentioned here and there. Just because a few fringe players are injured what do you expect, a full page report? Some of you go on like it''s a Conspiracy or something....
I was agreeing with the statement made by Legend Iwan.  Whether or not the Pink Un/EDP has published some info on injured players there is no doubt in my mind that the integrity and independence of the Pink Un, which I have enjoyed reading for more years than I care to remember, was compromised by the appointments made to the NCFC Board last year.
Not at all. The Pink Un writers are free to pen their thoughts independently. It has simply been reduced as a cost saving measure for Archant I should think. Bear in mind that this message board performs rather well and serves a purpose. I also think that information can be updated a lot more quickly on a website, which means we get our Norwich City news as it happens. Plus, there''s the other features such as live match updates. While I understand that people like to have something tangible to hold and read, the future of publishing simply HAS to include digital issues of magazines and more content on websites etc. As for the appointment of Stephan Phillips to the board, I would imagine that this has more to do with the money that can be saved on advertising and also to bring fresh ideas to NCFC''s marketing department. It just makes dealing with a newspaper more seamless.
 16. Yeah, I really wish people wouldn''t get on his case because he''s blatantly a confidence player. I think, as has been discussed countless times, he has all the attributes to be a quality right back. Thing is, he often seems to look lost and unaware of his surroundings which isn''t good when you''re a defender. But, he''s got blistering pace and can put a cross in. Like Matt said, he needs confidence from Lambert and us fans, but I think we may be seeing Semmy leave in January. Could he be one of these "fringe" players that the board are thinkin of selling??
 17. Have a bloody lovely time and let''s hope for more success in 2010!!!Much love,Rob
 18.
Don''t shoot the messenger, he has just applied for another job, which he''s allowed to do in a free country; happens all the time.
Is this guy Robbie Cowling?? I had a conversation with a lifelong Col U supporter last night and he told me how little the fans think of RC. This chap I was speaking to was a good guy, you''re obviously a total troll. Go stuff your face with turkey and enjoy your evening of watching Only Fools and Horses re-runs with your ONE friend.
 19. Agree with most of what has been said, however you must have not seen Spillane play at right back because when he''s been fit, he''s been outstanding. When was the last time you saw a Norwich right back do a few step overs, cut in from the right touchline and score a cracking left footed curling effort??? I''ll tell you. When Spillane did it against Leyton Orient. He was utterly fantastic that night and has performed consistently when played in that position.
 20. ....can someone please tell me what end Grant Holt scored his first goal against Brighton (the sublime left footed chip)Thanksa loads, an immediate response would be appreciated I''ve got a tenner riding on it!!Thanks
 21. Declan Rudd hammered a penalty in recently didn''t he???
 22. Holt has played at Championship level. With Sheffield Wednesday and on loan with Blackpool. Granted, he didn''t get many games but he has been there!
 23.

i guess the answer is concentrate (not just semi, whole back 4) and stay goal side when your keeper is kicking.Seems the obvious answer anyway :SThen if beckford does intercept, just hack him down 40yards away from goal, get a yellow and move on.
[Y] Agreed, but I think to blame Semmy for the goal is pure stupidity. Forster should be talking to Rudd about how to kick Forster''s kicking has never been spectacular and the defence should give him the cover that he clearly needs. His kicking from his hands was dreadful against L Orient.
Yeah, Forsters kicking leaves a lot to be desired, but it was in fact Rudd who played against Leyton Orient. So, I''m not entirely sure which game you were watching!!
 24.
the problem is our players are not consistant enough . we went from taking a thrashing 7-1 to winning away from home 4-0  which is crazy . thats the problem when you put together near enough a whole new team so quickly , some are good some are not . nelson had a good game last week and was poor yesterday , if our form is going to be that random you have to look at a realistic finish is going to be mid table  and next season build on that .... but thats too easy as far as norwich city are concerned .lambert is on a year rolling contract and no money to sign players with . if he does not produce the goods he will be replaced next season and off we go again .
Here''s a thought. Nelson to only play in defence when we play away??? He seems to freeze on the carrow road stage. We simply can''t afford to lack consistency and let complacency sneak in, because this league is going to be tough. My thoughts are sign a new winger, right back, striker and centre back. But, we all know that''s unlikely to happen unless it''s a loan. Oh, of course we could try and sell Hoola, Rusty, Doc, whoever.I think that we''ve done well in not losing a league game under Lambert, but I fear that we are going to be watching some awful football again this season. If teams don''t get the ball down and play against us we resort to hoofball. Actually, I don''t think there''s a term invented for Nelson and Askou''s particular "passing" game. We have not got the pace up front nor the creativity to make anything happen to rely upon the tactics employed yesterday. On another note, anyone see Lleras pass for the first Charlton goal?? We missed out there, because that''s what a defender should try and do. Hit the diagonal and try to cause problems. Spillane is our only central defender capable of such a ball.
 25.

to be honest thats how i and plenty of people round me saw it today, which bits do you think i got wrong then as you cant be implying cody played well, mcveigh looked the best midfielder and was surprised at how much Holt struggled and ended up conceding free kicks due to frustration
Well no offence to you and the people around you but...I think you''re a little way off the mark. Cureton...usual stuff, didn''t worry their defence at all, pretends he''s trying to close people down but does it with no real conviction...had a great chance to roll a ball across the edge of the box for someone to run on to but played a rubbish ball. And as a striker he should know how to play a ball like that, as if he were to be the one attacking it. Cody... still needs plenty of work but you can, quite easily see, how much more of a problem he is for defenders than Jamie. He''s got the pace and persistence to cause problems. Which he did. As for McVeigh... I''m a big fan of the guy, he''s got a lot of quality, but except for one terrific knock over the top for Holt I though he struggled to make much happen. Out classed by Stephen Hughes in midfield, by some distance.
Mate, I think you''ve got the wrong end of the stick too!! Hughes was good for about 30 minutes today and then he faded away into the background completely. Uses the ball fairly well but I really can''t remember a successful tackle from him at any stage in the game!! Our midfield was fully crap today. Rusty came on and really looked like he couldn''t be arsed either. It''s plain to see that nobody in the centre of our midfield took the game by the scruff of the neck. Poor, poor performance by everyone involved. I pretty much fell asleep. The most exciement I had was at the bar at half time when I thought a couple of guys were gonna kick off because someone was trying to push in. Just highlighted the frustration we were all experiencing.Absolutely pathetic all over the pitch. That''s it.
