1. I don''t know. I left on about 75-80 minutes and I went to most of the games when we had Peter Grant and then Glenn Roeder in charge. Including a horribly shoddy away performance at Milton Keynes. I sat through all of these games. To be honest, the past few years had helped me to erase these painful memories but the performance on Saturday brought with it some stark flashbacks that were impossible to ignore. This could have been due to the vast quantities of booze I''d consumed the evening prior, of course. Truth is, I went and watched it downstairs in the bar because I didn''t want to stand in the Barclay anymore. It was getting too much! Having said this, i do actually agree with what everyone is saying about us having a better team now. I think we''ve played some good football and have been unlucky not to come out with more in 4 of our 6 games. Luck didn''t go our way at the state of the second half on Saturday, that''s for sure. When we''re rubbish though, this season, we''re really rubbish. Oh and...err...yeah. Change the goal music and just let off a canon or something....
2. Yeah, this is the exact reason I don''t have a sig... Just in case mine was so awesome that other people would want to steal it. I just couldn''t be bothered with all the copyright ensuring, various law involved in that and the undoubted adulation I''d receive from posters on here who may or may not turn out to be ladiezzz...
3. Stop all of yer mardling about ancient Norfolk-isms an get orrn with the footie an that!! ;-)
4. Hey guys! How about you stop being retarded?! Reading this board sometimes is like listening to Canary Call while on a come down... ill informed, fluffy and mildly depressing, leaving one with a thought of ''why the F did I bother?!'' Holt is still a good player and will score goals this season. He is our talisman and his influence around the club should not go unnoticed. He typifies what we''ve tried to do at this wonderful club and, to be honest, has been reasonably successful at it. We know he always starts off slowly. Give it some time. Rickie Lambert. Strikes the ball sweeter than most ''popular'' Prem strikers and would certainly be a good addition to our squad. Forget about his age, he is hungry to succeed in this league and it would be in his interest to continue doing well. I don''t think he''d sign for us, but he certainly would be better that some names I''ve heard bandied about. What should we do? Continue with out policy of signing players with summat to prove? Or do a QPR and sign over priced journeymen who were lucky to become high profile players in the first place? Look how disjointed they look and then think about your comments again. Peace
5. Sure, any newly promoted team going 2-1 up at Stamford would gain confidence and play better. After scoring that second they looked very good, but chelsea were stunned and all over the place. Chelsea were well on top before that and had it not been for some selfishness and wayward forward play, they could have been 2 or 3 up. I am not certain reading will maintain this. Defending looks pretty woeful. However, at least they''ve attacked and managed to string some passing moves together....
6. I have a client who is a massive Barnsley fan and she could not stop talking about JB! Hugely loved over there. Apparently, he''s always quoted as saying that he doesn''t know which foot is his best. However, she''s adamant that he dies indeed know, he just won''t tell anyone! I like it. Maintain an element of surprise! He looks an excellent player and apparently will unleash a powerful and accurate shot whenever he gets a glimpse of goal. Just what we need!
7. Yeah, I agree ellis. Agent_NCP seems to be quite reliable. I follow him too, although I am quite new to Twitter. Not entirely sure how I''d feel about it. Wes is easily our most creative player and at times last season we looked lost without him. I know we have players that can play in his position now but they are as yet unproven at this level. I''m sure they will develop into huge players for us but do we have the luxury of time?
8. Ha! #3 is absolutely incredible. Ps. Is the old fellow in your sig actually supposed to look a bit like a pi$$ wizzled Ken Bates?!
9.
Why the face bobby?
I genuinely don''t know! Ha ha... I blame it on this damn Android touch screen phone system being totally sensitive. I bet the quote thing hasn''t even worked properly either... Oh... re your sig...best hide yo husbands too
10. Yes, massive appreciation for Croftsy... It''s good to see. He was my choice for player of the season in our year in the championship. Such a valuable asset in that league. The strike at Barnsley... wow. I, like many others clearly, will never forget that one. Good luck Crofts! Brighton will undoubtedly welcome you back with open arms.
11.

Hucks boots- get what you''re saying but the football we have played over the last three years obviously had more to do with Lambert, Culverhouse et al. We have absolutely no idea how the players will react to Hughton and the style of play he''ll employ. Lambert had so much tactical nous and an air of ''unbeatability'' about him. I rate Hughton, but it worries me that his manner is too nice. Almost seems like he''s not bothered when his team gets beat. Plus, I think Calderwood is a bit of a twonk and we all know Holt had his issues with him in the past.... will our side want to give as much for these guys? I hope they do and I''m not going to make any judgements until I see the way we set up and, more importantly, adapt the formation at the necessary times.
What? We''re talking about Holt for England and whether it''s worthwhile given he''ll be 33 by the time World Cup gets here. We''re not talking about Hughton.
Blimey! Don''t sh1t yourself about it. Haha! You started talking about our tactics and the way Holt plays within our team. I was merely pointing out that the coaching staff and management has changed and with that comes, potentially, a change in the ideology. Which may mean Holt adapts and has to play differently. Same as he would have to under yet another different manager if he was playing for England.

13. Apologies! It would appear the quoting mechanism is not quite compatible with my annoying phone. Or it''s about time I upgraded.
14.
Wayne Bridge has just agreed a season-long loan deal to play for Brighton...
Thank F for that
15. Cheers Billabong... I like your take on the theory (or notion, whatever you will) Knowing how PR works, personally, I see why this could be beneficial. As I always maintained, this was purely a suggestion and not based on any ''hard facts'' as it were. Oh, nice one Jas! Thanks mate
16. Ha ha... Cheers ricardo. As an avid reader of your match reports its nice to see a reply from your good self. I thought it was a crazy notion when discussing it with a friend earlier. Have to say though, it wouldn''t be the first time a football club pulled the wool over eyes.... In reality, I truly believe that the way NCFC handled the whole saga was pretty impressive. Lambert is a strange one, but the stance on Holt was always the same. They were quite transparent. It took a while to sort out and caused a bit of a furore but they obviously wanted to get a deal that was right for both parties. Like I said, most are happy and that bodes well for next season
17. Ha ha! Excellent...It''s merely a suggestion. I think it''s quite a fun one.
18. I just hope the boys aren''t following the Butterfield Diet Plan...It''s terrible...Lookhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtF3_ybJJ50
19. So. What do you think?Firstly, as we have all come to accept, Lambert leaves the club for Villa. For the record- I heard it told he knew he was going a couple of months before it happened. Then our talismanic, three time player of the season decides that he wants out too- sparking furious reaction from some fans and sheer disbelief among others. I never held any malice towards him actually and am unbelievably happy that he has decided to stay. We wouldn''t have been able to replace what he brings to the team and I think the deal was well worth the hassle. However, maybe it''s the cynic in me, but does anyone else think this is an amazing PR/marketing super genius plan to make the board and the new gaffer look incredibly smart? I don''t think it''d be that hard to pull off, and the rewards are incredible. Increased media coverage, the exciting ''will he, won''t he'' saga, confidence in the board and Chief Exec and, of course, happy Canary fans... Plus, we all know Hughton has big shoes to fill and this little master stroke would definitely be a great coup at the start of your new job (I like CH already, I just want to see how he sets the team up and rotates players/formations then I''ll make a more succint assessment)Anyway. I''m probably talking a load of nonsense but this popped into my mind earlier and I thought I''d share my bizarre theory with others.Ps. Let''s look back up there for a sec... Happy Canary Fans. I think that this is the most important thing...so...it was worth it, wasn''t it?! [;)]
20. This serves as a timely reminder to us fans as to what Chris Martin can offer.I don''t think there''s any doubt over his talent and potential- I''ve always enjoyed watching him play and he''s often touted as the best finisher we have at the club. No, the only thing that seems to be questioned continually is his attitude/temprament. He''s had his problems but we all thought these were behind him. Last season we had the theory/excuse that maybe his new baby was contributing to sleepless nights and a lack of focus.I''m not sure.It would be great if the excuses disappeared and we got to see the best of a fantastic player, although there always seems to be something hanging over his head. At the moment I can''t work out Lambert''s plans for him and I don''t think Martin would fancy leaving the area either. All I can say is I don''t believe they should let him go anywhere (aside from the loan option). If he can show that passion and desire that was shown in League One/Start of the Championship season once more, we''d still have one hell of a player on our hands.
21.
I wonder if Lee Croft gets flashbacks of Roeder screaming like a girly into his black gloves when he tries to sleep at night? I''m sure that''s what sent him mental.
I think it''s more likely that he was driven to the edge of insanity by those monkies he saw in the trees of Wigan, or wherever it was.Roeder was really creepy though.
22. Maybe Mr. Whelan was out on a jolly in his private helicopter when he, hovering somewhere above Norfolk, found himself in dire need of a bathroom break. They identified the ski club as a potential ''safe'' zone to land and old DW was able to go about his business. He is an old geezer after all and I''ve heard it told that it becomes increasingly more difficult to hold one''s bladder when a certain age is attained. Either that or he fancied an impromptu bout of dry slope skiing followed by a visit to Whitlingham.
23. Ha ha! Good one.... It''s being reported he''ll sign for Chelsea. Bizarre decision.
24. Is there anybody on here who reads the news stories on the home page??!There was a picture the other day of ol'' Holty, shorts adrift, with his rather dodgy pants hiked up round his middle, presumably after contesting for the ball. The caption was something along the lines of, "Grant Holt, in his Captain Marvel underwear...etc...etc"Maybe it''s another nickname he''s attained aside from ''The Horse''. He''s the captain, he''s marvelous...see where I''m going here?A plus point was that they''re actually yellow and green. Superb.
