I joined another Archant site a long while ago for entirely different reasons. I was just so surprised that no-one else had brought this topic up on the Pink''Un that I thought I might contribute. Is there something sinister in this?

I am not demanding it. I just say it is disappointing. We (management, players, supporters etc) should all be pulling together so, personally, I don''t think he should only apologise to his team mates. He would have gone up even further in my estimation had he gone more public about it.

Yes, I agree. It''s just disappointing really since he is someone who has contributed so much for us this season and is our captain after all. He is always ready to give his opinon about other, more positive, football matters in the press, so why not this? 

Does anyone else think that Grant Holt, our captain, should have publicly apologised for the tackle that saw him sent off? We had to play a second half with ten men, followed by three matches without him. Fortunately we had a sufficient calibre of a squad to more or less cope, except for today. I think that we will go up anyway but as captain doesn''t he have the responsibility to his team mates and supporters to come out and say how sorry he is?
