****The Official Lapps Match Thread v Arsenal ****

No use trying to gloss over yet another loss by saying the performance was ok. Still not a single point and that's all that matters in the league. -

Typical -
I think we will go down , with a start like this and not having a settled side yet ... playing catch up is a very very hard thing to do and losing is a bad habit. I hope I am wrong , I really hope so...

New players for Saturday
ROBFLECK replied to Barking Mad Barclay Boy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Totally agree , we need a player like Tzolis on the pitch! -
Be careful! Stats are interesting to have , but at the end of the day , they're just stats. Don't care for the title of this post though , "numpties" , nah not the way to address people...not my style... I didn't think it was fair either to single Cantwell out in hindsight! That's for sure... The only stat that really counts is the amount of points we assemble during the season...isn't it? Let's hope we don't have to undergo another season of "carnage" like the last time round. Cantwell will be an important part in avoiding that happening again!

It's easy to get ahead of ourselves in these things , as none of the signings have played for us yet . But I think the Kabak signing is a crucial one . This team needed help at central defence and he is a good signing for that. Young lads like him and Tzolis should prosper under Farke's management , so I think we will benefit ... Normann is a kind of player we needed too , it's too early to judge his value to the team. I am not pointing at the loss of Buendia as the defining moment , should we get relegated. A self funding club hasn't got much of a chance in the inflated PL anyway, so staying up would be an enormous achievement imo. Yet the start hasn't been good and we will have to gel asap to get our act together imo.

Most important signing - 1 - Kabak : we really needed some help at CH and this young guy has the potential of being a star in the PL 2 - Normann : after Skipp we needed a replacement that was up to him , I'm convinced Normann can do a job for us. But filling Skippy's boots won't be easy 3 - Tzolis : most exciting signing we have made and I expected him to start against Leicester. This young man has the potential , class ,... for being a top PL player Player with the highest ceiling - 1 - Tzolis : no doubt 2 - Kabak : potentially a centrehalf for a Champions League team , his performances for Liverpool already showed he's got the talent . I am very comforted by his arrival , as I thought we didn't look up to it in central defence. 3 - Sargent : This young man has a work ethic and some talent too. I think he will cut it at the highest level, with the right mindset he has.

Too early to tell imo ... I hope we do... My first reaction was ... Brentford have points on the board , we're leaking goals... But on the whole I think we've done a good piece of business and here's hoping it will work out.

Off the books and loans out remaining?

General Thoughts - How Do We Feel Right Now
ROBFLECK replied to JB's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
My opinion too, I've never understood that and I think it is wrong. At least this time we have added some players and tried to have a go in the transfer market. But it will be a relegation scrap that's for sure . Atm I'm anxious as most of our fans are and we need a good result ... asap. Getting players in this late is not benefitting us either, it will take time for them to get to know each other and Farke's way of playing... -
Happy with this , our pairing is not up to the PL , which I reckon is clear for all to see. Normann and (maybe) Kabak are welcome additions ... Let's see if they can bed in fast enough to get the show back on the road...
-
I think you would be very surprised ! Don't agree that each team would leave a player there , as the other team could exploit the fact that they have an advantage then numerically... I think the offside rule is silly ... I mean the goal we had cancelled last Saturday and I remember a great Pukki goal being ruled out the last time we were in the PL ... because his toe seemed to be offside...
-
Marco Van Basten came with the proposal to scrap it , no offside law , no offside , no arguments about offside... Arsene Wenger has said the same in the past https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12249982/marco-van-basten-on-the-offside-law-why-it-should-be-scrapped-and-the-hockey-precedent-that-might-surprise https://www.ad.nl/nederlands-voetbal/van-basten-wat-wenger-voorstelt-bepleit-ik-al-jaren~a94dc735/ I think it would do football the world of good tbh

Ok, now let's see if he's up to the PL...

Let's be clear on our situation.....

I think we will go down, confidence and a good start are vital ... what we saw yesterday was abysmal defending and no creativity.... Not singling out any one in particular, it's just not good enough. Hope DF can work wonders and turn it around, but I'm afraid I can't see it happening. Yet miracle's have happened, fingers crossed -
Mentally weak 2nd half
ROBFLECK replied to Midlands Yellow's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Copy paste of our last season in the PL...I am now very worried that the outcome will be just the same! Good start is important...hasn't happened...a result today would've made a big difference! -
I think he will, but he doesn't seem to be his old self yet , which in some ways is understandable. I think giving Sargent a go would make sense... You could see the guy was hungry and he works hard...he would weigh on Leicester's makeshift defence

Couldn't agree more. I liked the way Hameed applied himself . Still not ideal , but we were spoilt for choice a few years ago... Prefer him over Sibley!

Buendia or Rashica, Sargent and Tzolis?
ROBFLECK replied to Thirsty Lizard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
C , easy answer...great young players, but haven't proved themselves in the PL yet But I'm confident they will though
