1. t thought BW had until wednesday or something until he was on another self-imposed ''exile''.
2. no england forward has performed as well as holt can. whether he would have played to his potential in the situation, who knows. baring the carroll header verses france, there is nothing holt could not have bettered.saying that, he (or at least hi agent) is a complete r''s and the whole contract situation could have been handled a lot better.
3. Yeah maybe maybe not. But will not some of the candidates be the same, ergo lamberts more likely to be more wanted . If his mind is made up to stay then, granted it doesnt change a thing.
4. Sky are saying liverpool are refusing to deny reports that dalglish has been sacked. oh joy
5. The head wasnt gone, a teammate told me to get one of them sent off too
6. the problem i have with smudger/gruffalo''s argument (at its base level) is you seem to be taking 9/10 as the start of league 1, 10/11 as the start of the championship, 11/12 as the start of the premier league. as has already been stated we barely had a team when we were relegated to league 1; from memory i''m sure it was something like 14 contracted players (including youth team) because of our wonderful  loan policy. how many other teams in that league had to make such drastic transfer activity just to have a squad available, an amount of expenditure had to be expected, however this is the only season of the three that it could be said that we have done a man city (although to my mind, with the aforementioned 25k attendance, its more a man utd). yet having just looked up the transfer fees in and out it would seem quoting the aston villa total transfer spending model, that with the sales of marshall and clingan, that the outgoing figure almost certainly doesn''t hit 500k.when we get to the championship is when i have serious issues with smudgers points.from what i can see we spent about 3 million on transfers in 10/11 (this is with the legendary £1.2m for surman) , so approx 3.5m over 2 years, plus our previous squad of 14 or so ( minus at least 2 noticeable). how many of the other teams had spent that little over 2 seasons (3 if we''re just counting transfer fees, rather than loans).then you come to this season. we have spent more than all smudgers named teams THIS year. but wba over 3 years????you see our team didn''t come into being this year, or last neither did anyones. certainly not AV''s who had to pay 12m for young, and i believe the same for downing  (both sold in their transfer bonus you quote) as well as 24m on bent, 5m on dunne, 1.something on given (bargain), but as you can see, to pointt out one seasons expenditure for one club proves little. we have not spent (total outlay) what villa have over 3 years (have they set out a long term strategy to buy 15th place?).we have gradually built up our squad spending to try to keep up with the rest of the respective league''s whilst having laving lambert get an extra ?% out of them.MU have largely done the same, spending what they''ve earned through prize money, tickets and other revenue to buy expensive players yet at the same time pay off an immoral purchase debt. MC have owners who over 2-3 years have thrown money at the club, unearned. i don''t understand how anyone could confuse the 2. to put it in headline figures united have owners who have taken £800m out of the club, man city have owners who have put £800m in.no disrespect to the mc fans who have been there all along, cause who wouldn''t be happy, but that is where i place my classification.
7. i''d been thinking about this tonight,  while walking the dog (no relevance)but having beaten a below par tottenham (not at their inter milan best, certainly) today, i don''t see any reason why we have to expect anything less than the possibility of 3 pts from every game (i know, unlikely).all the following are based on us playing to a standard (not great, but not *)man city - 2 days less rest - squad to cope - but suffering disappointment of prob losing league (better if they beat wba on weds)blackburn - three weeks ago this could have been a problem, but they''re off the boil and there for the takingliverpool - at home. if they don''t improve psycologically between now and then, should be our best chance of 3 ptsarsenal - probably our toughest game (which atm emphasises mc''s problems) and the least likely to gain points, but its arsenal and they have been beatable as long as you''re in their facevilla - should be the easiest of the lot, especially if they''re safe, but its norwich on the last day of the season, so...
8.

A few annoying things here for me.Not knowing whats going on for one, and secondly, I think the club is playing a dangerous game here if they are keeping good players waiting, I know, technically, no one can officially approach players until the summer, but the longer they are in this position, the more it gives other clubs and their own agent ideas.I hope at least something verbal is in place.
can they not?  i thought they were free to talk to other clubs 6 months before the end of their contract.
I don''t actually know, you could well be correct.
I love you[:)]
You''re weirding me out man, stop it.[:)]
sorry to gatecrash the private party.players can talk to foreign clubs six months previous, but only talk to clubs in their own country (legally)after the contract has expired.
9. if someone offered me PL survival or a reserve team win i know which i''d choose
10. yeah next time we play someone like qpr we should make hoolahan, martin or drury captain. we know how much holt winds them up and they''ve all been captain before. wtf
11. the 92/93 team was the 1st year i had a season ticket and i absolutely love that side, the first year i can place memories to supporting norwich was when we won the milk cup, and the wonder of a nine year old on a trip to wembley.  I have no doubt that taken in the perspective of football as a whole, this side would, maybe, not even make the best 5 ever teams: and the achievement of the double promotion and currently ninth, though great, certainly doesn''t match all those years of (non)european qualification followed by the 3rd place, and the semi-finals, however this current team would most definitely beat any other Norwich side in the past due to the change in football over the last 5 to 10 years so i suppose it depends on the question you are asking.technically this is the best ever norwich side, but thenlso it isn''t.
12. re: loan situation. bethnall that too is my take on the system. a club is allowed 2 season long loans, and 4or 6 (can''t remember which) short term loans of 3 months or less : with no more than 2 S.T.L.''s at any one time. no more than one player from any from any other prem club. and all loans i believe must be done in actual transfer windows (unlike FL), unless special dispensation is given (usually only gk''s).
13.
I know some women. Some of them are my best friends. Another one is my wife.
lol
14. i''m sorry but in no way does rooney deserve a 3 game ban. the foul was a petulant kick out, that probably came from the fact that he felt he was fouled with the barge beforehand. yes the incident deserves a red card, but seriously, a 3 game ban.remind me how many games De Jong got suspended for BY UEFA/FIFA (not the dutch fa) for his assualt in the world cup final.rooneys challenge was frustration, and in no way threatened serious injury in a way that far worse offences do, yet seem to get away with less severe penalties.lets not be fooled this suspension began with the sunday times a year ago.
15.

In fairness, Ruddy could easily have gone for the challenge on Drogba, but as Drogba had been already flagged offside I think it was his saving grace. Not too unlike the Schumacher challenge all those years ago although just two fisted rather than full body charge. Def pen but thereafter the laws of the game aren''t that clear. AVB is young. People forget that. I don''t really care who he thinks he is. Got to give him a chance and to be quite frank, couldn''t really care what another manager says about games that don''t feature us otherwise we might as well report managers moans every week.
Perhaps you mean Schmeichel - unless he was driving a Formula One car at the time? :-)
though i disagree with chicken about ruddy. the incident he''s referring to occured in the 84 euro (sf-?) arnold ''toni'' schummacher took out (i believe) battiston in a more aggressive, intentional version of barnetts challenge against bolton.
16. i''m pretty sure we have a few arsenal supporting playershowever i also know god supports grant holt
17. i think its because he compliments holt better than any other striker we''ve tried so far (dunno on vaughan). holt is clearly our number 1 striker, and martin brings the best out of him. he allows him to drag play wide, and threaten the main defender, whilst also linking play with midfield and offering a solid threat towards goal.i believe lambert sees morrison as the best alternative to martin, in this shape. at least until vaughan becomes available
18. definitely play 4-5-1, especially if what LIK wrote is true. huth is not a full back and i''m sure wilson is more usually (or used to be) a more central player, therefore a couple of wingers could benefit from this. Also hoolahans position would be more support striker than attacking midfielder, a minor change, but it could make the difference to stokes ability to pick him up, or at least throw a spanner in there preperations. i would then play crofts, with the last cm position  rather graciously left to lamberts decision of what would be more effective johnson more to break up play or fox to distribute the ball. i''d probably go with johnson, purely to cover our attacking full backs.with the centre backs i would imagine it''''ll be de laet with probably barnett, although if ayala has impressed in  training and settled in fairly well then who knows
