1.
I understand WLY is very fit and also that he was restricted in appearances by Luton because of their financial problems. I thought I read somewhere that the Luton fans rated him. You never know he could be a useful addition to our squad Oh and please no more mention of Daryl Sutch, even in jest. Anyone who thinks he was a footballer should examine his record after leaving City. He should have been shown the doors early in his career and he wouldn''t have survived in the Ridgeons league
Or possibly you could look at Sutch''s role in our best ever season and subsequent victory over Bayern.
 2. This is good, but I imagine he has a release clause, especially as we''ve gone down. Hopefully a lot more than the 250k he had a Blackpool. Given his relatively high stature when he signed for us hopefully his release clause is around £1m, and hopefully nobody will want to pay it.
 3.
tony spearing and rob newman were at cambridge... newman most recently was at bournemouth... lee power is on the board at rushden and D... dean coney is a non league manager as is jon newsome i think...
I thought Jon Newsome was a car salesman in Sheffield.
 4. I just think that against Cardiff we played good passing football for the first time in much too long, we actually looked like the home team and passed with speed and purpose, Gow, Hoolahan and Mooney linking up very nicely indeed. Gow also at least making a good fist at winning the few long punts upfield. Then we got Lee, and Hoolahan got injured and most games seemed to follow this pattern: Hoof the ball up to Lee. Who then elbowed a defender in the face, the referee gave the opposition a free kick, and Lee argued a lot. The crowd suddenly woke up and berated the referee for a few minutes. Repeat to fade. I understand we were all looking for some kind of hero, and he was the closest thing to it. Which is eternally depressing as are the following: Alan Lee is very very slow, I would be surprised if he was any faster than Iwan at the same age. Not quite Hartson, but very very slow. Alan Lee spends most of the game either elbowing people or arguing with the referee, usually over decisions which are clearly correct. He didn''t exactly bang them in while he was here, and do we really want any more of last seasons squad than we can possibly help? Despite the fact he is a slow and dirty player he will probably get an offer from a better team. Oh and he''s a scummer.
 5. Didn''t Mike Phelan (Man United ass man) play for city back in the day?
 6.

he has got steadily worse over the last 2 seasons.
He only signed for us the first time 18 months ago you muppet, and he was quality for the first half season loan. It was last season where he wasnt playing too well, but the same could be said for the whole squad.
So he played well for the first half season but wasn''t playing well last season??? I make that 2 seasons he was with us and by your own words he was worse in the second season. So who is the muppet? Next time think before you post.
''Fraid not sunshine, have a word son. By your reckoning Peter Grant brought Bertrand in on loan! Roeder signed him. He certainly did not play two seasons for us. I think Roeder brought him in soon after arriving, on a months loan, then six monhs in January, then the ful season last season. Good old loan system eh. I imagine the scene of Bertrand''s agent calling him something like this: Agent: Hi, Ryan I''ve received an offer to go back to Norwich, what do you reckon? Bertarnd: HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, nice one mate, very funny. Agent: Well, you''ll be guaranteed first team football... Bertrand: I''d rather go to Scunthorpe, or anywhere really, that club is a shambles. Ring Glenn and get me Lee Clarke on the phone, lots of mates at Huddersfield. Why on earth would he want to come back? He would blatantly get on offer from a Championship team.
 7. brilliant signing, quality lower league player with bags of potential.
 8.

i should imagine if he is due back or comming back he would want to do it as soon as possible im not sure has hucks got kids , if so he would want them to start in september surely? he is only 33 he would have a couple of seasons left in him im confident if he came back he would want to prove a big point to the fans and roeder for letting him go in the first place.
I think his family live here still, don''t his kids go to a private school?
He''s said in a recent interview, with a link on here somewhere. That his family are still in Norfolk, and that his kid''s go to private school, so he can''t just pull them out of school. That he misses his family but he''s a big boy now! and has to get on with it. He has three options for next season, stay in MLS, play for Norwich or retire. He also said that he''s "not planning on playing too much longer, to be honest" and that he hasn''t talked contracts with either San Jose or Norwich as yet. Sorry for horendous paraphrasing but I''m lazy.
 9. It''s irresistable if he''ll come on low wages or pay as you play. A massive boost for everyone involved with the club, just like last time he signed. Players showing his level of loyalty come round once in a lifetime and we must give it a go. I think he''d be happy now to sit on the bench a fair amount, given he''s close to retirement. My only fear is that the deal is done, Gunn and Hickerby have already agreed a deal in principle. Gunn will therefore buy no flair players this summer, waiting for Hucks in November/December. Our new hard hitting Cheif Executive will fire Gunn in October after a rather dull start and us dreamers will sit here misty eyed wondering what might have been.
 10. He was sales and managing director at Celtic and managing director at Fulham. Cheif executive is top dog in the structure. Seems fairly obvious to me, similar to an assistant manager or coach stepping down a league or two to become a manager.
 11.
WHO? I think this is a sign of things to come, free agents that nobody has ever herd of.
Just because you know nothing of League 1 and 2 players doesn''t mean nobody else has. We are a League 1 club, get used to it. How many players in League 1 have you heard of? No, we''re not going to sign big players, stop moaning and do some research.
 12. Considering the amount of purile garbage posted here, having a pop at one of the more interesting posters on here, with a sensible outsiders persective is kind of silly.
 13. I''ve been reading these forums fairly often, and I''m surprised at how many posters seem to mis-understand how players contracts work. I''m no expert but here goes: Players such as Jamie Cureton cannot simply be told to bugger off by Norwich City. He has a year running on his contract and those wages must be paid in full, unless the player agrees to mutually terminate his contract for a smaller fee, allowing him to move to pastures new. Croft has done this, albeit leaving only a month or so before his deal officially ran out. I would imagine Cureton was given a rather large contract by Grant/Doncaster/Munby and therefore it would cost a lot of money to termninate his contract. I suspect his wages are high, because offering him a three year deal was madness in the first place, presumably we gave him more or less exactly what he asked for. I get the impression that has been a massive problem for the club, I am convinced we are just crap at negotiating and believe exactly what agents tell us about other club''s offers. If we were to go into administration we would still have to pay all player wages in full, an agreement made by our wonderful FA with the PFA. If we go bust as some stupendously misguided individuals think would be best  we will have to pay the players contracts or we will not be allowed to play. The administrator will make the club pay around 10% of all other debts but wages must be paid in full. You cannot sadly "sack the lot of ''em". Players are in control, you have to have a legally justifiable case to sack a player, all player wages must be paid in full. If a player doesn''t want to leave you cannot get rid of him, simple as that. Lappin is still here because he didn''t want to go and we couldn''t make him, now he''s out of contract we can let him go for free. In my opinion we should only be offering two year contracts at the most, I have no actual evidence to support this, but I am convinced that is the way to run a football club below the Premiership. I am also convinced managers should be appointed at the start of a season and should remain until the end of said season, if a club really want to sack the manager they should only be allowed to do so once in a season and they must replace him from within the club and pay a £1,000,000 fee, which will go to the football foundation. Sorry went off on a bit of a tangent there. Rant over.
 14. I think you can have as many short term loons as you like, as long as you don''t have more than five loons from English clubs in the squad, or something. I''m sure we can still get more!
 15. Huckerby signed an 18 month contract at San Jose so will not be out of contract until the end of 2009. He/they then have the option of a further two years. As much as I still miss him, think we really have to give up on this now.
 16. I''m delighted former legends like Gunny, have jobs here. Hope to see Iwan, Hucks Flem and co given a role at some stage, not as manager though.
 17.
Yeh i got it as a christmas present total joke and their already selling them for a really low price in the club shop.
OMG the club shop is selling calenders off cheap in the new year, like everyone else in the world who has ever sold a calender.Sack the Board!
 18.

Lets just give him and the other 3 a total of 3 years to get us into mid table of the championship, if this means being relegated and then re-promoted then so be it!
In 3 years we could be in League Two.  Gunn doesn''t look like he knows what he''s doing, he just stands on the touchline with hands in pocket looking like he''s waiting for a bus.
Oh right fire him now then. What is a manager supposed to do at the side of the pitch? Grant was slagged off for shouting too much, Worthy for standing motionless with his arms crossed and Roeder for celebrating in a childish way and generally being a tit. I don''t care whether Gunn looks like he knows what he''s doing. Why is football about appearances? In my view one of the main reasons the Doc got so much stick is because he looks about 45 and rather unfashionable. His resurgence in popularity also co-incided with a haircut. Modern life eh?
 19. I really couldn''t give a sh*t if players like Torres and Ronaldo play in England or not.
 20. Well I''ll settle on a 6.5 for Fozzy if you like, 7 for Croft (he ran around a lot but acheived very little) Cort my MOTM 8/10. Either way I think Fozzy had a good game. I really don''t think he slowed the game down at all. Most of the others I''d give 5/10, we deserved to lose. Oddly, Clingan seemed much better at CB to me, if only he was a few inches taller.
 21. Scary stuff, especially if we manage to follow Southampton''s example and get -7 points from a game. In all seriousness, it does look bad. I think it very unlikely, however that all these teams will get maximum points. The "fans" need to stop panicing, and support the team. The Carrow Road groan was appaling yesterday, no wonder the players are scared to play.
 22.
Good spot on missing Fotheringham.   My problem with him is the way he slows the game down all the time with sideways passes and ponderous touches - it''s like watching a learner play chess.  Still, he wasn''t terrible yesterday and would rate about a 5.5 I guess.
Yesterday his short passing was slick and quick and he played at least two good, accurate 30-50 yard forward passes. He was in my opinion our best player in the second half, which may not be saying much. He slowed nothing down, and mostly took one or two touches. Anyone who gives him less than a 7/10 is judging him on previous performances and not yesterdays game.
 23. He''s a decent player and had a good game last night. Anyone who says he is our worst midfielder ever isn''t either an idiot or has only been attending matches for six months. He''s not even the worst midfielder in our current squad. I don''t think he''ll ever be a legendary player for us, and I doubt his credentials as captain, however the level of criticism is ridiculous. Just out of interest who thinks Doherty is the worst defender ever? Because there were a fair few of you saying it last year, anyone still think this? We''d be bottom of the league without the Doc.
 24.
He went face to face with the poor young ball boy and gave him a mouth full, i may be wrong but it then looked as if he moved is head in a sort of i''ll nut you type of movement, the ball boy jumped out of his skin, Davis then ran back to take the goal kick, after he took the kick he turned and gave the lad a cheesy grin as if all was ok, i was disgusted with his behaviour to the kid and will be contacting the football club to see if they will get Davis side of the story as he was well out of order and i honestly believe he should get a fine at least and the ball boy deserves an apology.
quite clearly absolutely nothing will happen because it wasn''t on sky, and the FA won''t do anything unless it''s repeated on sky sports newsn every five minutes. Also on an only vaguely related point, when the ref booked Fozzy for his celebration the crowd were rightly outraged. However it really isn''t the referee''s fault. How about we all sing "F**k you, to the FA" or something similar. Might wake them up if it was sung at grounds throughout the land and on the telly.
 25.
He scored with his right against Barnsley.
really? he seemed to do anything to avoid using it last night, was painful at times, seemed he wouldn''t even consider a four yard side foot pass, without shifting foot. Great player, but I''ve never noticed anyone so one footed.
