Would have thought that suggesting potential transfer targets is fairly reasonable on a Norwich City discussion forum!

There certainly seems to be an increasing number of Championship clubs who are more willing to pay big money for players.

I trust Alex Neil''s judgement if he feels Toffolo not quite ready. From what I have seen of him, I think he would benefit from a year on loan in the Championship. Certainly of all of the FA Youth Cup winning squad, he seems most likely to break through at the moment. On a larger scale, how many players in recent years have come through our academy and gone on to play at the very top level? Very few, that I can remember. Rob Green, Craig Bellamy, Jason Shackell are probably the best to come through. Unless i''m forgetting some obvious ones? I would suggest that this is a very poor return over the last 20 years. Is the problem really the catchment area?! Other clubs of a similar size have produced a lot more than us. Is Southampton really such a hotbed of footballing talent?!

Would have been a good signing when we were promoted last time. Not any more - we have better options. Wes/Dorrans/Howson all better players, IMO.

Doesn''t strike me as an Alex Neil type player. Perhaps another case of agents leaking false information about us being interested in a player to drive his price up? We do seem to have become the go-to club for that in Italy...

I don''t see a future for Turner in defence, but maybe he could be our new target man up front?! Save money by recycling our current players into something else! Russell Martin seems to like dictating where he plays anyway - i''m sure he will end up as a striker at some point when he fancies more of the limelight!

Would imagine that signing a player like Mbokani is not going to be a quick process. Initial discussions may have taken place and there may be something to it, but it''s not the sort of transfer where we can expect to see him tomorrow!

Don''t understand a lot of the ill feeling towards Fer. For me he was one of our better performers that season - in an otherwise very poor side. Whilst his style of play isn''t as "energetic" as a fan favourite like Johnson, he certainly has a lot more quality. A fit Leroy Fer would undoubtedly improve our squad and so I would welcome him back if he was available on the cheap.

Don''t see any logic to fabricating an injury in order to cover up a departure. As others have said, if anything it would likely put possible suitors off. That said, I think most on here are in agreement that we won''t see him in a Norwich shirt again. Difficult to see how he fits into the 25 man squad, let alone the matchday squad. He will be desperate to play first team football, which he isn''t going to get here. A move to the Championship/SPL/abroad would suit all parties.

Would be very underwhelmed if we signed him. No better than what we''ve got. If Wes injured/not performing, I would prefer to see Howson/Dorrans/Vadis in this role, than Lee Tomlin.

Think this question will divide opinion - and mine is the opposite to yours. I liked the team coming out to "All of the lights" and thought it was a lot better than "Live & Let Die" from last season. That said, I found the "Jump Around" goal music to be very cringey - lots of older folk jumping round embarrassing their kids. I prefer the goal music from last season - the darts theme one.

Certainly need a 3rd GK - particularly now that Remi Matthews has gone out on loan. I seem to remember not so long ago that Ruddy got injured, and then Bunn sent off, and we had to play our then 3rd choice - Lee Camp. Too big a risk not to have a 3rd GK in the squad who is capable of "doing a job" in an emergency.

A good player a few year ago, but at 34 there''s no value in signing someone like this.

So, we''re going to concede too many goals, and not score enough at the other end. But apart from that...

Nicko - I really rate Dwight Gayle, but not sure he would be the right man to fit into our current system. He will score goals if you give him chances in the 18 yard box, but is he physical enough to play as a lone striker? Not so sure. Of the names we''ve been linked with, the stand out for me is Mbokani from Kiev. Think he is the type of player that would suit the system.

Looks like he has now signed for Spanish second division side, SD Ponferradina. Sure he will be a success at that level, but not good enough for us i''m afraid. You can''t win them all...
