1. I thought he played well and apart from when we play the top teams we won''t come up against the pace and trickery of Puncheon, Bolasie and Zaha too often. Doubt there is any defender in the league as quick as those guys.   WBA fans on the whole say that Wisdom is terrible so not sure he will be the answer but I personally think Whittaker is certainly good enough for this level.
 2.
Whitaker and Martin are clearly hopelessly out of their depth at this level hopefully their dire performances yesterday will mean McNasty will finally act rather than trouser the money
How long have we got to put up with these idiotic comments?Trouser the money? Look at our accounts, they are open to the public, every spare penny has gone on the playing squad. And most agreed that Whittaker did a decent job against one of the trickiest wingers in the league yesterday, guess you watched a different game to everyone else.
 3. Well it''s not a naive comment is it, we have played worse than that and won. And no doubt we''ll play worse than that this season and still scrape a win. That''s football
 4. The most predicatable thing about yesterday and this season was every goal conceeded would cause a surge of disrespectful comments towards Russell Martin, regardless of whose fault it was. Fact is, most of what you RM haters are saying is total rubbish, someone has already put the statistics up to show how moronic Grefsteds comments were, seen someone else say his poor header against Brentford cost us a goal, this just simply never happened, now apparently he''s only playing centre back for Scotland because he played centre back for Norwich, despite actually starting in the centre back role for Scotland before he did Norwich..... Also allegedly he''s an average championship defender at best (despite being voted in the championship team of the year by fellow pro''s and managers) and is no way captain material (been captain for one season and led Norwich in arguably our greatest ever season, promotion, beating Ipswich in the Semi''s and a Wembley win). So, people who play against him say he''s a great defender, his opposition managers say he is a great defender, 4 Norwich managers have now had him at centre back, Gordon Strachan has had him at centre back for a Scotland team who has a real chance of making a major tournament for the first time in about 20 years, so pretty much everybody who has been associated with him within the game gives him the plaudits he rightly deserves, yet a handful of Norwich fans are right and the world of professional football is wrong. Give me strength. Try watching the game without your scapegoat bias, he was far better than Bassong yesterday and won every single header in the air. Something he has previously been accused of being rubbish at because he''s too short and we should bring Ryan Bennett in who is actually shorter than Martin.....
 5.
I think that other than the very top CB''s who cost tens of millions, and there are not that many, in the EPL you expect your CB''s to be done for pace and turned occasionally. The level and pace of the strikers even at the lesser EPL sides is exceptional. For me, its more about how you defend as a "team", work ethic etc
Exactly, there aren''t many fast centre backs in the EPL and hasn''t been for years, pace in a centre back isn''t really required, it''s more about positioning and reading the game. I''d argue that Martin and Bassong are as fast as any centre back pairing in the league which is why I find it funny when people say we need CB''s with pace
 6.
Promoted teams who try to play long ball usually get relegated. Swansea, Leicester, Southampton have all gone for an attacking game, generally keeping the ball on the ground. Buying a big lump of a striker and knocking long balls to him usually leads to conceding possession and facing another attack from the opposing team. Even Pulis is gradually moving away from hoof ball.
Really? I can only think of one long ball team that went straight back down and that was Watford under Boothroyd years ago.   Hoofball certainly worked for Stoke, Bolton and West Ham (both under Allardyce) but I''m struggling to think of another team who went down.   Last season QPR, Burnley and Hull all went down, none of them are renowned for being a hoof team. Burnely credited for being a decent footballing team if anything
 7. Why is it every season a Norwich player gets accused of being overweight? Hooper is just stocky and well built, probably not an ounce of fat on his body. Holt had the same sort of figure, always got accused of being fat, pulled his top up and he was just ripped!   Agree with Hooper in the Wes role in the future, watching his link up play is fantastic. Watching him and Wes link up at times last season gave me a hard on
 8. Because when they do that people moan because it obviously means the club aren''t trying to sign anyone and McNally etc are pocketing all the money.
 9. I can''t ever remember anyone targetting RM as a weakness in our defence, if you look back at the league games at Carrow Road our LB position was constantly targetted with long balls, remember having 2 or 3 home games on the spin (Reading being one of them) where everything was coming down our left hand side and they achieved a lot of success with it.   Looking at the Ipswich forums before the playoffs, they were actually saying Bassong was our weakest link. To say Martin was targetted is laughable considering his fellow pro''s voted him as 1 of 4 defenders who were the best in the league, so if he was targetted, he clearly did a good job. I personally feel that LB is our weakest spot and it seems that AN thinks the same as it''s the position we are spending most on getting covered.
 10.

Why is the "public image" of the club important?
The way the club looks is important - its public image is tied up with the way it is run, that is why it''s important. I accept what people say about it being a money making exericse, but that public image is what I see and what other fans see.  People will disagree with me, that''s fine, but in the clubs I have been involved with, amateur of course - the whole point of those clubs is to give their members what they want - good facilities, good use of money that is available and quality for whatever activity is being pursued.   I run a  local community music group and we needed a shirt design so we would look good on stage - so I asked asked someone to come up with designs - and then they were put before some of the members of the group to ask them the one they liked the best.   If I had just railroaded a design through and it was unpopular, that would reflect on me - and the group would not be  happy their subs money had been wasted on an ego trip of one person.  If you took a group of ten fans and asked their opinions about the NCFC kit designs, I am fairly sure that most would say "yuk" - a few appear to like them, fair enough, but to produce a shirt to so much bad publicity is not good - and that reflects badly on the club.  That is the public image - and any club I am a member of, I want to have a good image.  Just accepting everything as it is presented, laughing it off if it isn''t right is all very well, but is not going to lead to good development.  The club imo needs to be kept on it''s toes about the way it treats fans and their money.
Got your wires crossed there LDC, I think you meant to write "the majority seem to like the kit based on records sales but a few don''t like it".
 11. And also the fact that with our record under AN we would have probably won the league by early February
 12. All you''d do is price out the next generation of fans and that''s not really a fair method for somebody who can''t attend away games due to a disability or something. I think the current system is the only way you can do it, price accordingly by age group.
 13. I did it on the website and you get to choose your seat on there. I''ve gone just above the directors box
 14. Ours would be higher but suffers from the lack of away fans in many games. Ipswich''s were boosted by playing us, that''ll be lower next season
 15. I am, sitting in the home end though as the away end is sold out. Looking forward to it, hoping the Wolf gets a game under Neil
 16.

Well our scouting system is all but non existent regarding foreign players.
I dont think it was that poor to be honest;  we were linked with decent players before but failed to land some,   rvw sticks in the mind but that sort of purchase fails for many reasons,  not just scouting.  we have had many more home based transfer failures including previous record signings.    Last season was simply not one where we needed overseas players,  we had the budget to secure proven performers in the league and paid approrpiately for them.    I do wonder if this improves with our latest appointment; if he can bring as wider net with him our non uk understanding may have improved.
The statement about foreign scouting being non existant is also completely incorrect. Richard Money who manages our opponents tonight was scouting for Norwich before the Cambridge job and did a lot of scouting in Belgium.
 17. Going by Neils comments where he said a lot of it is out of our hands, it''s clear that the selling clubs are more than likely bringing in replacements before selling their players to us.
 18.
Some gold on there at the moment! Obviously, all the money is going on wages and fees, which other teams don''t have to pay, which explains where all the money is going and why other teams are paying fees and they aren''t! You couldn''t make it up. http://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/348716/i-know-its-always-being-spoke-about-but/#41
This is what I find hilarious, they seem to think that they are the only club in the division who pay wages to players. Apparently they spend more than most on wages.   Although the last set of accounts showed that actually Ipswich (from the top of my head) were the 15th highest wage payers in the league, with teams like Bristol City who were in the league at the time paying higher wages than Ipswich.   So they don''t spend any money, ridiculous debts, and aren''t even that competitive with wages, but Marcus Evan''s is still a great owner.....
 19.

Russell Martin is our current captain. He''s a good leader and excellent ambassador for our club and very much a Norwich City man. Alex Neil has kept him as skipper in the 6 months he''s been here. Why on earth would we need to change captains?!
Because we need a captain that is on the pitch and if we are serious about staying up Russell Martin wont be .
Wasn''t Russell Martin the guy who captained us to Wembley glory and was part of the tightest defence in the league under Alex Neil?   No brainer for me, Martin is a great captain.
 20.

I''m confused as to what I''ve said that''s factually incorrect and makes me a narrow minded bigot. Perhaps I just don''t have my head buried in the sand?
. You seem to be EDL as you have stated there are ''no go areas'' in Luton. Have you been to Luton? Crap like this makes me feel uneasy, why say such a thing and make people think that white people would get attacked in certain parts of Luton?
I''ve only been to Luton once but one of my mates was born and raised there but his family moved out about a decade ago as the racism they had to endure was getting out of control (they are white). And yes there are areas which are pretty much no go for white people and which pretty much self govern under Sharia
 21.
I am worried by the lack of news regarding potential signings. Don''t think we should look at it like with have a month befor pre season we should be looking at it like we only have 4 weeks till pre season. Look what happened last season we where in the Orem we had a shocking pre season and it ended badly. We should have already bought in our potential targets and training already and gelling together. Watford have better squad and improving it with the double loan signing of Tottenham duo. I hope we aren''t going for the cheapest rout and try and squeeze through by the skin of our teeth (Tin hat on)
Last time we were in the Prem we got the likes of Fer and Wolfswinkel in incredibly early and we had a great pre season. Wasn''t it last season where we had a farcical preseason and that worked out alright. Watford don''t have a better squad than us at all, just going by stats under Neil, we would have won the league comfortably.
 22. Great post.   I''m all for immigration but it has to be the right sort which is beneficial to our country and to people who want to integrate within our communities and embrace our way of life, like the Jew''s have and the Sikhs etc.
 23.
I don''t think you need to spend huge amounts just have a great scouting network with good youth development, Southampton have been superb at this over the past 5 years. Agree with you Morty deals will be done with undisclosed fees and behind the media hype.
That''s such a myth about Southampton, they have spent huge amounts of money, albeit they received a lot of money as well. Pretty sure in their first season back in the Premier league they were rocking a £40m+ strike force....
 24.
"Isis only follow what the Q''aran say''s to the word."A small point to your rant Ellis. Isis follow an interpretation of the Q''aran, and use parts of it to back up their fecked up ideology. Very similar to the Christians that use a small part of the bible to back up their hatred of homosexuals, but ignore the parts that contradict their views.
Oh absolutely, totally agree, the Q''aran (like the bible) is a brutal and graphic book, the attrocities that are happening in the middle east and now in Europe are the nutters who follow it to the word. The majority of Muslims obviously wouldn''t dream of cutting off someones head or cutting off various bodyparts. I have absolutely no issue with any race, any religion, people live their lives how they want to live them as long as it doesn''t affect me.Just hate all the tip-toeing around when it''s obvious there is a serious serious problem and it''s within the religion of Islam, if anybody say''s there isn''t then they are a fool.
