  1. If we could get Craig Moore I personally think it would be an excellent acquisition for us, but the point DD made of wages being a stumbling block could effectively mean we wouldn’t be able to get him. Although saying that I wouldn’t of thought we would have been able to afford Helvegs wages. You would think Moore would be quite keen to play with ex team mates in Ferguson and Amorouso, but maybe he’s being put off by players having arguments with Souness. It wouldn’t be too bad if he missed the start of the season as Charlton can play with Fleming instead.I think it would be a case of great if we could get him.
  2. thebarclaykid, otbc means on the ball city.
  3. I think his wages demands would be too high, but I dont think he would be worth it anyway with his recent track record.
  4. I actually agree with you City Angel, I dont mind if Rivers goes to Ipswich because he does want to play first team football and stay in the area, but what I am upset about is that we got no money fot him when there was reported intrest from Burnley, Crewe (towards the end of last season) and now Ipswich have took him on trial, so surely we could of got some money for him.
  5. I remember Crouch saying if there was one club he wanted to come to it would be us, so therefore you would assume if we could agree a fee then it would be a done deal.
  6. Out of our league due to wages and one of the slowest players around these days.
  7. If he ends up with Barnet he might finally be able to find the right level for himself!
  8. If we could get him it would be a sensational swoop to have a European championship winner in the squad, but not only that the captain of the squad that won it. I also thought the same about the Greek defender Dellas who was also one of the players of the tournament, who could possibly be loaned out from Roma for first team experience, but could we get any of the Greek players who won euro 2004 because now they are hot property in the transfer market. Although I think Zagorakis would be a possibility as he is quite old now, I haven’t heard anyone linked with him and he wouldn’t cost a lot in wages.
  9. I seem to remember him having a bust up with David Moyes and being accused of making racial abuse at Luis Boa Morte. Worthington never goes for this sort of player as he doesn’t want one bad attitude to ruin the good spirit within the squad.
  10. He’s a good solid defender with 4 international caps. Definitely worth a look if we could get him.
  11. Kluivert would command huge wages, said he wanted to move to the london area, his last clubs were Ajax and Barcalona, he would want to get back into the dutch team and wouldnt be able to do that with us. Im sorry, but I dont think its going to happen.
  12. Yeh I have to agree I was also very impressed when I saw Harewood last year and he probably would have scored more goals if it wasn’t for Padrews ridiculous tactics to play the second top goal scorer in the division on the right wing. I know he would probably like to leave West ham and especially for a premiership club, but how much would he cost.
  13. Neil Emblem (although not his own fault) and Andy Marshall spring to might, but for a total waste of money Tony Cottee and Steve Walsh were 100% terrible.
  14. I don’t see why it is any of your concern how many posts DD makes regardless of whether they are relevant posts or not as after all this is a posting forum where people are allowed to post as many times as they like.
  15. After the departure of our legendary Iwan and the rumours that have been circulating in the national press about Crouch, Sheringham, Johnson and even Hasselbaink coming to ply their trade at Carrow road next season. Who do you all think will get the honour of having the traditional centre forwards shirt number for next season?
  16. If Worthington’s top transfer target is David Johnson who was injured basically all of last season and went to Forest because he didn’t prove himself in the premiership with Ipswich then we certainly don’t want him as our number one target in the transfer market.
  17. I agree that Eriksson is tactically naive, but I think to say he should go now is wrong as we have only be knocked out of Euro 2004 due to a dreadful refereeing decision and got to the Quarter finals of the World cup as well under him which not that many other England managers have stayed long enough in recent years to have managed England in a World cup and European championship let alone got to the Quarter finals. So why should Eriksson leave?
  18. I think this seems to be a signing of first division quality, but every player has to be given a chance. Although is he any better than we have already got and to buy a tough tackling midfielder seems a bit disappointing me when Holt already wins his fair amount of tackles already. As for international quality, no disrespect to Morocco, but they’re hardly a great international side.
  19. Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink would be an unbelievable signing for Norwich, but you would think it’s very unlikely and I have no idea where that sort of rumour would come from.
  20. I would have to say no about rivers as well, but would expect a reasonable fee for him. This is simply because if rivers doesnt play on a regular basis he becomes very unfit and too unfit for the premiship. Although i think saying he might be playing non league in a few years seems a bit harsh.
  21. Hayden, I dont see why we would hahve a five man midfeild next year when our 4-4-2 has been so effective over the past few seasons.
  22. If Norwich were to buy Verpakovskis it could only be good for the club and would surely be a better signing than Crouch and although Crouch would also be a good signing, I think Verpakovskis would be better. I would say if the price was right we should definately try and get him. People say Norwich need a target man, but when Svennson came he wasnt that good as a target man anyway although he did score quite a few with his head. If Norwich didnt play with a target man we would just have to keep the ball on the ground more instead of hoofing it up feild more.
  23. Todd, I think there are some good suggestions here. Although Gravensen and Jensen might well be out of our reach as they would both command a fee and high wages while Carrick would be a terrific signing if the other big clubs don''t snap him up first. Earnshaw would also be a very good signing if we could get him, but realistically he would probably cost a few million and I don’t think we would be willing to pay that for a striker who hasn’t played in the premiship yet. Although I would have to definitely agree with you on Allback as he wouldn’t cost much, has got a great international record, but he didn’t prove himself in the premiship with Villa. As for Crouch he would be a popular choice and realistically we could get him. I think again Gabbidon might be one of those who would command a big fee. As for Stepanovas he has been very impressive at euro 2004, but was an Arsenal reject, but might be do a job for us. Nilsson would be a great bosman as he is in the Swedish line up and that has to show that he is quality and he could also fill in for us on the right, so Bentley switches to the left. As for Svensson if we could get him he would be a good signing. Some suggestions I would make would be Gary Speed of Newcastle who was linked with Leeds so you would think we could get him on loan or permantly and Vepanovskis of Latvia seems to be fast becoming one of the stars of euro 2004.
