  1. He’s talented and will have a very good career, and achieve a lot.
  2. I’ve been expecting a better turn out from the Unenlightened entitled myself.
  3. Thanks for the original post. I’ve personally never met a fan who deifies the Board or owners. Most of us are naturally critical. One example- if we had pushed out the boat in 1993, and brought in a loan striker (Dowie was available) we would of won the premiership in my view. I expect constructive criticism of the club, I want frustration born of passion. I believe us fans have whinging in our dna! What I am not so tolerant of is fans not having any grasp of context. In 1970 we were mid division 2, our current position is to some extent the norm for my club (if you take a wider view). In addition to this one cannot ignore the current state of English football, the dominance of the premiership, and the corrosive impact this has had on teams like ours chasing the Golden Fleece. As for the small minority on here, they are simply motivated by prejudice against our current custodians; not any love of our club.
  4. My ears also picked up when I heard Diaz had joined Blades on loan, and my wba pal in pub not happy about loosing Jeremy Sarmiento (to you know who), would be nice to have something up our sleeve this Jan.
  5. Well played the Gas, enjoyed my time living in Bristol in Montpelier, Jamie Cureton style
  6. Unlike you, no doubt you wouldn’t mind at all if your car got battered by some bloke?
  7. Not interested in comparing or what ifs, he is in my top 4 all time City managers, great times, our first foreign manager, an identity to savour. All good times come to an end. Bad spells also don’t last forever. Under Bielsa and Farke I enjoyed and enjoy watching Leeds.
  8. A genuine sadness for me, those 2 semi’s, we should of won both.
  9. A quick glance at a Manchester United Forum - when was the last time you actually enjoyed watching United? It was ever thus, whether in pub or on forum; sad characters whinging.
  10. Is that a breeze of snowflakes- that terrible Board and those horrible people in the media being critical of us honourable folk.
  11. Yep, Klopp complained about atmosphere at Anfield recently, and I listened with interest to a Pool fan on radio. He said He doesn’t go anymore, club have sold their soul, basically commercialised and sanitised. Where are they in the league? We need to see bigger picture as fans and avoid implying some catastrophe has befallen our club uniquely.
  12. Our game at St Mary’s seems a different era, we showed aggression, style and commitment; everything I could ask for. Today 5-4-1?
  13. I disagree with the implication that the Murphy’s are some example of failure. One has been a big success , other earned a fantastic living playing at high level. This preoccupation with selling I find quite dull.
  14. There appears to be an element of our fan base that has little stomach for the challenge. An entitled view, much the same in essence to the views of some Man U fans, who cannot accept others might just be a bit better than them of late. I see us as coming from 3rd division south, and being at heart a 2nd Tier side, with a good history of doing ok at top level. Because I believe that the current custodians have been superb for us, has no bearing on whether I like the ‘ruling governance’ at the city overall. Over the years very few of our board have impressed me, and very few officials have stood out (examples are Roger Munby, Joe Ferrari). We have no preordained right to be any higher in the leagues than York City, Rochdale or Grimsby.
  15. I watched him with grudging admiration at Burnley, thinking he’s their type of player, certainly not one of ours. Sadly with loss of Farke and identity we end up with a team not suited to our way. I’d have gone for Kamara, knowing he would struggle early doors. But we’re where we are so hoping Sarge and Barnes can re-foster some linkage. Last night I watched with concern as he seemed to play into the Millwall Den trap. Terrible ref, but that was a red for me.
  16. Same idiots who put down Neil Adams, put down Martin; I’ve always been keen on keeping things in-house. I don’t think Martin’s would necessarily succeed but a good candidate.
  17. This Government has been in power longer, and these are hard times as a result.
  18. Luton are having their day, good luck to them. Personally I preferred the team of Stein, Ricki Hill et al. We’ve basically been a well run community club too. In recent years we’ve overstepped and got burnt, but I see no reason why we cannot negotiate a way through; we’ve made a good start with Attanasio.
  19. I rarely miss a game at the Hawthorn’s but didn’t go this season due to lack of trains, this was main reason my WBA mate (who is a lifelong baggie and season ticket holder) also didn’t go. Millwall is a home game for me, born nearby and I live in London, and enjoy seeing South London friends after. I won’t be at Carra for Saints, although I was at St Mary’s, another personal trip for me. My ticket for Saints is being used to assist some Americans who are City fans. So that a slice of my reasoning, although I won’t pretend that it hasn’t been something of a relief to avoid a few games.
  20. Yep, in 2015 he stood in solidarity with Palestinians, in 2023 virtually supporting war crimes.
  21. Not quite, atmosphere is all, we should play our part in my view. It’s quite acceptable to be on your phone all the time, or watch the TT from Isle of Man, on an iPad or gossip constantly with friends about unrelated matters- but I know what I prefer.
  22. Look forward to it, lass from Woking done good, clue is in the location.
  23. All good points, I was at Sunderland recently, I seem to remember they DID have 39,000 v us?
