Thanks for the reply. All fair. I started thinking about this when the site fell into disrepair and stopped working properly a while back. That's when I set up this account. It would be such a shame if it was to disappear (I still think it will sooner rather than later) as, despite its faults, it is the best place for Norwich fans to gather on the internet.

Thanks for explaining. I actually think there is loads wrong with this site and the reason I visit is the lack of a proper alternative. But appreciate you taking the time to explain your reasoning. The issue for me is the lack of care and attention the site receives. It's a really poor website, stuck somewhere around the mid 2000s in terms of design, layout and functionality. It could and should be better.

Really odd thing to get hung up on. You were right. Happy to say I was wrong. I still want a decent forum.

Thanks. We can have broken emojis on the new site if the majority think it's charming 😜 The lack of moderation is good, the lack of any kind of attention is not. As long as the forum was moderated by fans that had a stake in the site I don't think it would be an issue. Really appreciate you answering the question OTBC

I was born in Leamington, lived in Warwick half my life. Send me details please, my dad is still in those parts but doesn't use the forum.

Let's say we're the 100th best supported club in the UK. Do we not deserve a decent forum to debate our club on? I am sure I read a number of years ago that we are (were?) the fifteenth best supported club in the UK. But can't find anything to back it up now.

Personally I'd call it The Nest. But yes, it should be up to everyone to decide.

All forums face the same challenges, some are successful and good places to chat, some aren't. Do you think this forum could be improved? Do you think it will be improved?

What is good about it? Genuine question. There are some nice people and the format isn't horrible, although it's v dated. Really struggling to think of anything good about the actual site though.

Thanks for honest assessment. At first it would be a challenge, the key thing would be to get the most regular posters from here on board with the new entity. A shiny new forum that was owned by fans/the people using it, that had local sponsors, community initiatives and a section where users could recommend changes/additions to the site would quickly see this site made redundant. I've been posting/lurking on here on various accounts for 20+ years. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the lack of a proper alternative.

Why? It's a terrible website owned by people who don't care about the club. Is it just nostalgia? Genuine question. We can easily recreate all the best bits of this forum elsewhere with none of the sh1t.

I'm not rich but I know how to start and scale a business with minimal funds. Also I believe a successful and busy forum could largely pay for itself in time too through local sponsorship opportunities.

We're the 15th best supported club in the UK and we don't have a decent forum to chat about our club. This site is a broken mess, both the actual site, the moderation, everything. We deserve better. This place could be buzzing, it could add value to the club and its supporters, not take it away. In reality it's treated as an afterthought when I'm sure it's the main reason most people visit the site. I'm serious about starting and funding a new forum. The people running this site have taken it for granted for too long. I am no longer local but would be more than happy to return to meet with people that want to be involved. If anyone reading this is interested please DM me so I can gauge interest. OTBC
