  1. The red surely made a mistake - you shouldn’t blow up with the ball in a dangerous position.
  2. It is great to see Adam doing so well. It shows how his development might have been improved with a loan three seasons ago. I agree, this is a great example of a sporting director looking after the best interests of the club opposed to just the first team.
  3. I am delighted for Adam, I just hope we get decent value for him.
  4. Interesting, I thought it was ridiculous when Clemence was mentioned in the same breath as Shilton, Shilton was the best keeper of that generation. It would be interesting to see modern metrics applied to them.
  5. I am completely with you. The issue about unhappy fans stems from their expectations. Delia and Michael have generally out performed our statistic average for a sustained amount of time. People naturally want more; but with a period of success we would probably also need to accept a period of regression. In terms of having that massive high and qualifying for Europe (for example) it is probably outside of our financial capabilities, that is just an example of how far football finances have come.
  6. I am delighted for him, his career didn’t seem to be developing, so hopefully the start of him kicking on.
  7. They do seem to be doing well, are any of them left footed?
  8. DF is a legend - him and Webber created a team from the nothing. DW has done a really fine job. The players seem to like him and have genuine team spirit. We have played well when we have a fit squad, and we seem to have less depth at the moment, and I assume that is due to a lack of cash. If he gets us up, with all the adversity he has endured and I think that would be an amazing achievement.
  9. When you sing you are definitely being supportive - when you boo your not. More panto lover opposed to supporting players and coaches (plus others) who are trying their best for our club. OTBC
  10. You forgot to include that it was all Idah’s fault this season, Gibson last season and Sargent the season before.
  11. Booing is the opposite of supporting. Therefore if you boo you aren’t a supporter. Could be a fan, but definitely not supportive. Tbh Webber and Wagner said similar rungs and they weren’t wrong,
  12. There was talk of setting up an independent forum - btw I have not got the skills - has that happpened or is it a non starter?
  13. Surely McLean only plays CB when Gibson is out as he is better on the left hand position than any of the available right footed players. I would be surprised if it is anyone but Hanley and Gibson at the back.
  14. I am absolutely delighted for him, he seems a nice lad who works hard and causes no team issues. It has been obvious for a long time that his development has been limited by injuries and the fact he isn’t / wasn’t performing better than Sargent and Pukki. Yesterday was a first but significant step in his progress, and I really hope it goes well for him.
  15. Mr Johnson has 6 declared kids, and then a few rumours kicking around, especially around someone he promoted in his honours list. Kyle has a fair way to go to catch that particular entitled philanderer.
  16. Did not notice that - that’s not great - perhaps Klopp has rubbed.
  17. I do not think Robin’s was really fuming, or expressing sour grapes. I think he was disappointed with the player for making a challenge, and said it was stopping a clear goal scoring opportunity - that is right. He was frustrated that Sakamoto was targeted, but even said ‘that’s football’. So he was disappointed to not win the game, not sure he could have said anything else.
  18. McKenna to Palace - now that would be great, I have heard he is really good.
  19. Seems highly unlikely to me, although it does have that slight logic which means it could be true, from the outside he seems to have created a positive atmosphere, and when Sargent has been fit a competitive side. He has a new boss, in an industry where new bosses always want new head coaches. He knew when he joined that he was likely to be in this position fairly soon, and probably has a contractual clause in place to cover for it. Equally it would probably be a good move for everyone involved, the sticking point would be NCFC, we are still in the shake out for promotion and if we achieved that it is worth far more than the cost of releasing David later. I guess if he was offered the role, this is where Knapper earns his wages.
