1. Sorensen did well at left back imo and just needs more 90mins under his belt so I can see an unchanged side from Farke. The only possible change I could see is Placheta in for Cantwell. I thought when we went to 3 at the back, we saw the very best of Max Arrons so I also wonder if we will see this change later in the game if we require goals. The benefit of Sorensen starting is that it doesn't require an extra sub to make that tactical change.
2. Id love to see Webber go and get Van Den Berg from Liverpool on loan for competition and cover.
3. The same starting line up as Huddersfield bar Buendia replacing Dowell on the right: Krul Arrons Zimmerman Godfrey Quintilla Skipp McLean Buendia Cantwell Hernandez Pukki
4. Imo of the new signings this summer we will see 4 of them become nailed on starters for most of the season: Quintilla, Gibson (after a few games gaining fitness), Skipp and Dowell. Dowell should be playing in the no.10 position when Buendia is back but until then I can see Farke playing him on the right side with Stieperman chosen to support Pukki. The left side is where I struggle.. we have Cantwell, Hernandez and Placheta all competing for that position.
5. Krul Arrons, Zimmerman, Godfrey, Lewis Skipp, McLean Dowell, Cantwell, Hernandez Pukki McGovern, Tettey, Gibson, Stieperman, Placheta, Hugil, Idah Missing: Klose, Mumba, Quintilla, Mcallum, Sorensen, Sitti, Vrancic, Martin, Rupp, Sinani Unavailable: Byram, Buendia, Hanley
6. The Bradley Johnsons of this world. We miss someone like him MASSIVELY!
7. Imo in terms of pure footballing talent I would go: 1. BUENDIA 2. GREALISH 3. CANTWELL With Grealish being English however his price tag would be higher than Buendia. If Buendia is fortunate enough to play in a top 6 side in the Prem then you would see him tear it up in assists and goals imo (very much like Madders has done at Leicester). More so than the other two mentioned.
8. I'd play wing backs if we have the full roster of CB's fully fit. .........................Krul...................... Arrons Godfrey Hanley Klose Lewis .......................Tettey..................... Buendia.........McLean..........Cantwell ........................Pukki..................... Subs: McGovern, Zimmermann, Trybull, Vrancic, Hernandez, Duda, Drmic Tough one on Zimmermann but Hanley has been our best CB since his return from injury and Klose is brilliant in a back 5 on the left side. Same as Godfrey for the right side (important to get the ball high up the pitch very quickly when playing wing backs)
9. You're getting mixed up with different American talent in the German leagues- Norwich City are keeping tabs on Bayern Munich’s Taylor Booth and his younger brother Zach Booth.
10. Always sceptical basing an opinion on YouTube reels but the one thing it does show is that his link up play looks very good indeed and his first touch looks strong. More of a no.10 than a no.9 It looks. Him an Idah for the future hopefully 🙂
11. My dad already has train tickets but been let down on away ticket. Anyone with a spare ticket? Will pay full face value.
12. Krul Arrons Godfrey Zimmermann Byram Tettey Vrancic Buendia Duda Cantwell Pukki Subs: Farhmann Hanley Lewis Amadou McLean Hernandez Idah
13. . Krul Aarons Godfrey Klose Lewis Amadou Leitner Buendia Cantwell Hernandez Pukki
14. ......................Krul Passlack Hanley Klose Lewis .................Godfrey .......McLean...........Trybull Marshall......................Hernandez ...................Pukki I''d rather rest Rhodes and ensure he is fit for the rest of the season. LEWIS however, is an athletic machine and I wouldn''t be surprised if he can slot in comfortably despite lack of pre season minutes. I''m not sure Leitner or Trybull have done enough to show he deserves to start in pre season. However Trybull will add more bite in an away game so he gets the nod. Leitner Buendia Rhodes Srbeny Stiepermann Marshall Zimmermann That also meets the home grown quota i think also? :)
15. Grab 4 wins and we will be in the top 10. Maybe even top 6.
16. He will be our number 2 and tasked with pushing Tim Krul. Play most cups games too I''d expect.
17. Absolutely spot on in my eyes. Only potential changes are Lewis not being fit. So id expect Stieperman, passlack or Husband. Unless Max Aarons has impressed? And Rhodes not being fit, so Pukki replaces and in the hole we play Leitner. Adding Thompson in DM pushing Trybull up a little.
Doesn''t this just prove we have a better more balanced side than last season with the options we''ve got. I have two opinions on this 3-4-1-2 or 5-3-2 or a 4-3-3 as follows: Krul Zimmermann-Hanley-Klose Passlack-Trybull-Leitner-Lewis McClean Rhodes-Pukki or Krul Passlack-Hanley-Klose-Lewis Leitner-Trybull-McClean Marshall-Rhodes-Hernandez
18. Couldn''t agree any more. Give him the chances as he will play with no fear. The biggest plus is he is physically big for his age also which helps. The fact it was rumoured Mourinho was keeping tabs on him...
19. Ok.. that didn''t work but a 4-1-4-1 with Pukki and Hernandez being the wide attackers/Wingers
20. For me I want to see a solid back ''5'' with Godfrey or Trybull protecting the back 4 all game until Tettey is back in contention. And then a flowing forward thinking ''5'' that support Rhodes as much as possible. . Matthews/Loan Keeper Paaslack Hanley Klose Lewis . Godfrey/Trybull . McLean Leitner Hernandez Pukki . Rhodes
21. Cracking goal there, just needs to avoid mistakes like the one that lead to Southend''s goal! His fault for not tracking his marker for the header.
22. I''d bring Chris Martin back. He is a natural finisher. With the creativity and style of play we play, he would be suited to the ball on the floor. Yet he can also mix it up by holding the ball up. The biggest question is how much he would cost and also whether his attitude is any better than when he was here previously...
23.
From a selflessness point of view, this will put his great talent even more in the shop window. Does anyone out there know if this game will be on TV, I just love watching him play. Amazing how the previous manager signed him and Prichard, both very talented, but in the main un used during his reign. What a waste!
You can add the technically talented Canos to that list also... With the type of football we play now, i''d have loved to see Canos in this set-up.
24.
Who was the player we had who could do the 100 metres in a time that would have allowed him to be a professional sprinter if he wasn''t in football? I have a feeling it might have been Hucks?
James Vaughan was the fastest UK youngster at 100m at a certain age before he decided to opt for football over athletics.
25. Play just trybull as defensive midfielder in home games. Allowing us to play an additional creative midfielder. However this won''t work when playing with wingers such as Murphy as you need to have everyone tracking back when we have just the one defensive mid cover. Playing steiperman and wildschut out wide and capable of tracking back for instance would enable us to play two of vrancic/madisson/hoolahan/Pritchard (when fit) in front of trybull.
