  1. And the Wire's precursor, The Corner isn't bad either. Nor his recent show, We Own This City. Loads of the same actors.
  2. I would say that the standard of the Prem seems to keep getting better and better, faster than the Champ, and therefore the difference in quality between it and the Champ is also getting slightly bigger season on season, which sort of makes the Champ look a bit worse, even if it is still the more competitive league. Sometimes when I watch MOTD in the evening after watching Norwich, I do think 'Christ, this is different level'.
  3. Presumably SOME of that treatment was justified at points in the 80s?
  4. The sort of scenario refs probably have nightmares about. Attacking team could have intentionally missed the penalty if they were being really sporting, seeing as how there was literally no advantage gained by the opposition for that handball.
  5. Does anyone else find that watching Sheffield United this season triggers past trauma from watching us in the Prem in our previous 2 top-flight seasons? I find it uncomfortable to watch these Blades games because I know EXACTLY what that feels like - especially losing to Burnley at the weekend. It's hard not to watch those games and then wonder why I'm so keen for us to get promoted - I mean, that's almost inevitabley what's in store for us in the top flight, right? But then, I see Idah score a last minute winner and it makes my weekend! The life of a Canaries fan I suppose...
  6. I'd really rather not become a club that 'achieves' things by abusing 80 year olds who have devoted decades of their life and finances to this club.
  7. But is that surprising coinsidering the highs we had under him compared to what has happened since? We haven't had anyone who has inspired the fanbase anywhere near as much since. You then also factor in the way Leeds were so keen to snap him up and you start questionning whether we were right to sack him. The more time goes on the more I regret that we did. That squad we had in his 2nd Prem season was not good at all.
  8. What worries me most is that the wins against Cardiff and QPR didn't seem to positively impact our confidence. We still capitulated last night. Admittedly the injury to Hwang didn't help, and conceding 2 goals so close together.
  9. Delia and MWJ are hated, abused and blamed when we're on a bad spell, ignored when we're doing ok, and if they're lucky, treated to a handful of cursory platitudes when we win the league. What a job to put all that personal money, time and energy into. It's almost like they genuinely love the club and want what's best for it...
  10. 2 title winning seasons, including my favourite ever season (18-19), Pukki, Buendia, Krul (and literally every player from that 2018-19 season), Sara, Rowe (if he counts?), improvements in the infrastructure. Those things outweigh the (albeit glaring) negatives for me.
  11. The problem is clearly that we're bang in the middle of changing sporting directors, so changing managers couldn't come at a more inconvenient moment, even if it is clearly needed. Who makes the decision on a new manager? How will Knapper feel if big changes are made literally days before he comes in and takes the reins? The board are clearly in a tricky position, as much as people would like to pretend there are easy solutions.
  12. Seems to be a massive improvement to what was originally considered his possible return? Can only be a good thing.
  13. Is it THAT bad? If we'd played like this all season, with Sarge and Barnes fit the whole time, then I'd say yes, of course sack DW, but you're talking like we're 23rd and scoring no goals. How good did we look under Wagner until Sarge got crocked? (And no, before anyone says, I'm NOT happy with where we are right now, I'm just saying it's not panic stations, and saying 'no manager is better than Wagner' is hyperbole).
  14. Do you genuinely think that every time we go on a bad run, the fans should turn toxic and we should sack the manager? And anything else is 'happy clapping' and causing the downfall of the club? Clubs that get into cycles of replacing managers at the first sound of a boo often struggle to get out of that cycle, and also don't get very far.
  15. If our 2 first-choice strikers hadn't got injured right next to each other, we'd arguably still be top 2 or 3 in my opinion. We were on fire before those injuries. Wanting Wagner out is just daft and reactionary.
  16. So doing something very generous ceases to be commendable if you've said in advance that you're going to do it? Slightly odd argument.
  17. Judging by that TikTok video he could be the new Jamie Cureton at the derbies this season.
  18. The fact that you suggest that 1. the only reason he's looked good this season is because Sara is so good, and 2. Sorensen and Gibbs are just as good, is the epitome of underrating him! Maybe Sara has looked so good this season because Kenny is playing so well? And if Gibbs and Sorensen are just as good I image we'd probably accept £4m for either of them wouldn't we? But there are no such bids, or even interest, that I've heard of.
  19. I absolutely LOVE that all our attacking players are scoring. They're really sharing the goals around in a way that hasn't happened since Pukki, Buendia, Cantwell and Stieperman were all scoring. It's so important for a long season in the Champ.
  20. I'm going to start referring to our strike force as Sgt Barnes. Reporting for duty.
  21. Why? That's so boring. Football kits aren't meant to be stylish casual wear you can wear to your works-do, they're meant to be worn by players and fans who want display that they're fans of that club. I can't stand the awful, dull rubbish that clubs like Spurs (literally just a white t-shirt some seasons) and Chelsea churn out for £70 a pop. 3rd kits especially should be out-there and a bit crazy. I like this new one, especially that it's a reference to the 92-94 away shirt (in my profile icon). I just wish, as with all this new era of kits, that they'd include the proper colours in the badge.
  22. 1: All time favorite shirt - has to be the 92-94 egg and cress 2: Favorite home shirt. see above 3: Favorite away shirt - The 94-96 blue tartan one (image below) 4: Favorite wacky 3rd shirt. I do like the Mulumbu one picked by GodlyO above (even if it looks like a rugby shirt to me), but gotta go for the 2016-17 reverse egg and cress one (image below) 5: first shirt I ever had as a kid. - found the 89-91 Asics shirt in a sports shop in Swindon in about 1994 (back when you could buy assorted shirts from previous seasons in sports shops). Was adult size and way too big so I wore it over my puffy ski jacket for my first ever visit to Carrow Road as a 9 year old in 1994! 6. Purchase - finally managed to get hold of the navy 1993-94 UEFA third shirt, which I remember seeing in the shops in Norwich in that season. Cost me a fair amount, from Ukraine of all places. (image below) 7: Sentimental shirt - the 1992-94 white and purple away and the 94-96 GK away shirts were two I had as a kid. It's fair to say I generally prefer the wackier designs, and also anything from when I first started supporting them - the nostalgic connection is too strong. I also like that we pretty much never wore the UEFA one, nor the white and purple away (apparently worn just once in 2 seasons, against Wolves in a cup match?) Back in the days when you only wore your away shirt if you had to.
  23. In that farewell video he celebrates a goal by removing his shirt to reveal the same shirt underneath, which as far as humorous goal celebrations go, is pretty good to be fair.
  24. I like it. Something different for us. For me anything is better than a plain yellow shirt with a green collar, which I think a lot of people seem to want. My prediction for next season: diagonal stripes.
