1. @14:30Delia Smith will revealing her newrange of organic wheat and  meat free pies.OTBC !!
2. It was very expensive as a pool. Even in 1993 it was £4.50 and that was £1 cheaper than the school holiday price!
3. Villa (or any club for that matter) can only buy a Norwich player if Norwich sell. You''re not forced by anyone to sell you bike etc. and nor is Norwich any player under contract, forced to sell.
4. How do you force someone to go on gardening league and not manage another footbll club? This is only contract law, not criminal law and all that can be done is pursue the person who broke the contract for compensation.
5.
Hughton at Newcastle   played 70 won 39 drawn 17 and lost 14 Strike rate of 56%      Hughton with a poor Birmingham squad played 62 won 26 drawn 21 lost 15 strike rate 42%           Lambert with us played 142 won 70   drwan 35 lost 37 strike rate of  49% (however this includes league 1)    So all in all what can we make of this personally i think were going to have a tighter defence next season and i cant really see alot between Lambert and Hughton. Its a great appointment by Mcnally and 2million in compensation is a small price to pay WHEN we stay up [:D]
Can''t we just get Villa to pay Birmingham the compensation? That will pain them greatly.
6. I think, due to our financial commitments to pay off debts this coming season, 17th should be considered success. I heard on 5Live (or it may have been R Norfolk but it''s generally knwon anyway) that to avoid going into liquidation a few years ago, we had to commit to repay loans once in the Prem. 17th end of this coming season means debt free and planning for an expanded ground. THEN I think we can realistically think about progressing.
7. Wahoooo !! This is becoming quite exciting.I''m also really pleased that there seems to be quite a bit of good will between Norwich & Newcastle. This is how it should be, I''d like fans of both (all really) teams to be able to mingle before matches at CR or St. James'' in pubs and the like without fear of any trouble.
8.
Would Brazil change their colours?   Would Australia change their colours?   Is Norwich our Brazil, our Australia?   Clubs evolve. We evolved into a club that wears green and yellow.    Its established, popular and instantly recogniseable.   You can keep your £100 million if it means you want to change clubs beyond what is reasonable.  If cardiff want to change their colour it means they are evolving.   Blue obviously didn''t mean that much to them.  Fair enough.   But Norwich is green and yellow.   It''s iconoic and ours.   Change it?    Not on your nelly.
I''ve seen two England Germany games where 1 match Germany are in red, England in white, the other match Germany are in white, England are in red! I can''t remember the years that this occured but it did strike me that two fierce footballing rivals had, for those matches, swapped strips!
9. Right, as soon as it is confirmed that it IS Hughton, let''s get 100% behind him and do the double over Villa next season.OTBC !!!
10. Is MO''N really THAT good? Sunderland did well first of all under his stewardship but finished 1 place and 2 points behind Norwich. That begs the next question, How good is Lambert? If he were in charge of Chelsea, Man City with an almost limit=free budget, would he perform as well as Jose etc? I guess no one knows that, not even he.
11. Yet another manager who''s name is well known but whose achievements are outweighed by his failings.
12.
Oh great times, isn''t it funny how a win against Sutton Utd is so well remembered? I remember standing in the Barclay on a summers day as those goals went in, must''ve been high on the goals as it looked a freezing January night watching it back!! lol Forgot about the ID card system too, everyone was getting in a right state - especially those in the barclay that thought they were in these ''hardcore'' firms - Oh sorry, didn''t know it was an offense to make up stories in the local village pub 3 hours after a footy match!! :)
Haha!! I was in the Barclay End that match too!! I remember losing count at what the score was and those two old gits that would walk round with the board showing the goal times just kept walking round all the match as another goal would go in before they finished walking the perimter of the pitch from the previous one.Sutton had knocked out Coventry City in the previous round and THEY had won the FA Cup the year before.I hate Coventry.
13. I remember seeing Hux play against Chelsea at CR. He waltzed his way through the their defence as though it weren''t there, on more than one occasion.
14. I think I''d help out with a new stand or something. On a similar-ish note, it does frustrate me that clubs like Darlington drop 4 divisions into near-obscurity and those top 4-6 clubs are knee deep in the stuff. I''d like to think that all clubs, especially the smaller ones like Gorleston FC etc. can get the youngsters, both boys & girls into football and do something to resist this country getting any more fatter than it is!*** rant over ***
15. Yes, excellent post. I know that many outside this region who have never been here often make fun of us and our club being a ''backwater'' and so on but although I''ve worked & lived all over the UK, I''ve never really left Norfolk and probably never will.Nice one Darren and all the other players/ex-players who see this place and this club in the same way that we do.
16. Whatever you say about how he is/was, you can''t dismiss his success at Norwich. We all judge managers on their results and, if I''m correct, Norwich are the only team to have ever got two consecutive promotions into the Premier League and then stayed there!I do beleive that McNally will appoint another great manager though.
17. Until Norwich, was Lambert that good? He instilled discipline and self belief in the squad members but we certainly had some duff results on the way to the Prem and got found out on a number of occasions, so let''s not go thinking that it has to be worse from now on.
18. I work in the West Mids but don''t live there. Still, we have a Villa supporter in our office but he''s been fine. We also have supporters of West Brom, Birmingham & Wolves. We DID have Cov supporters in our office but they''ve all gone rather quiet!
19.
...If i''ve learned 1 thing over the last 20 years of supporting Norwich, it''s that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is ...
We''ve had it very mild compared to Leeds, Southampton, Bradford(!), Coventry etc. so count our blessings!!
20. I agree. He never took any praise for Norwich''s achievements. He, for some while now, said that managers don''t last more than 3 years (or words to that effect) and said he''d be surprised if he were here after 3. I think he must have gone in with a 3-year plan or, at least, seen through the 7 year plan. If he''s as good as he thinks he is (and he may well be) then he''s certainly selling himself short going to Villa unless it''s just to say "Look what I''ve done with this old crock, now Mr Glazer..."
21. Wasn''t McNally behind Fulham for their rise through the leagues and now Prem safety, only to be offered and then unoffered a job at Arsenal, so he found a place here.I maybe wrong but that''s how I understand it.
22.
''I''ve been told a few times in recent months that Chris Hughton was #ncfc''s theoretical ''Plan B'' if Lambert left. I guess we''ll soon know''. What do we think?
He & Lambert could flash each other as they pass on the A14 !
23.
....are continental players better than british players then?! Or do they just sound more exotic?
Using the success of the England football team as a metric, continental players are better.
24. Chances are he will, although we are (including me) all presuming that he is on his way to becoming the best manager ever. Maybe he will find a level that isn''t as high as Fergy and the like. In that case, he may stay at Villa and stay being 8th or 9th every year. He he is better than that, then yes, he''ll leave Villa for a club bigger than them. I guess I''m sounding like a Col U fan now!!
25. Would you bother with Villa? I know it sounds sour grapes and all that but if I were that good at being a manger, I''d go for Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle etc. whenever those positions came available.Maybe he''ll do the next step after a few years with Villa OR, he may even reach a limit and not set the Prem alight just like MoN hasn''t done with Sunderland this year, despite getting up to 8th.
