1. To the posts here that refer to a couple of points..the need to bring in better CB cover..Alex could not have made himself clearer...all thru the window he said new faces would only come in if old faces left first. Olsson left pretty early and Brady was always likely to leave some point thru the month, so that is where Alex got new guys in. In the summer, Turner and Seb and Whitts all have contracts running down, so that is when changes  will happen.2nd point is the likes of Bogle, or other players, from the lower divisions. Once again its simple, no time needs to be taken over discussing such guys, Alex has often stated his mantra, he does not go there. He looks at the top two divisions and / or abroad. not L1 and L2. Be that wise or foolish, thats his way.
2. 3 out, 2 in..but that was certainly a long , long wait for the new guys. Probably due in part to Alex''s insistance in getting a good price for Brady, if 13 mill is indeed what was agreed, then it was worth the wait, also it was likely needed, as Wigan played hardball over the value of Wildschut also. All in all, not bad at all, Brady and Olsson were always two of the main suspects to leave, Alex has replaced them and freshened the squad. Canos, no matter what he does in the future, was maybe a signing at the wrong time for us, wish him well for the future. The summer will be the time to really move the oldies out, with the likes of Laffs, Turner, Whitts etc, contracts running out, gives Alex and City more room for manouvering. Finally, a word for Alex and his staff, we merrily criticise often for varying things, but it seems a huge amount of hard work has gone on behind the scenes, to get the two new lads in, and of course, theres work involved in the ones who leave also. Well done Alex, not a bad window at all, in the end, and that almost literally.
3.
We haven''t got him yet..
Indeed, 44 minutes to go and silence is deafening on this guy...tbh it has been  the last few hours. A guy aint ours until hes signed....obviously yea. Will be disapointed if we miss out after the build up.
4.

No worries or chance of getting this guy, if he does anywhere its to Derby. All quiet on the Dijks loan to, he will be the only new face tomorrow, if indeed that even happens. So, 2 out, Olsson and almost certainly Brady, complete nil, nada, zilch permanent signing, and 1 possible loan....i guess that can be regarded as a quiet, peaceful window, our long time bastions of Lafferty, Turner, Bassong, Whittaker and others  survive again, how lucky we are as a club to have them!
What do you do for enjoyment?
what do you think !
Moaning, I guess.
Nah, my enjoyment is wondering how much in wages the likes of Lafferty and Turner have cost NCFC over the past few seasons. No point moaning is there, they must have been good servants  to the club, having lasted  so long >.>

6. Thx Ricardo. Good win today, all the more so  after game when Alex mentioned many of the squad were  affected by DnV, and Colney will be shut down for a day or two for a presumed fumigation. To play competitive when your stomach feels like a hot melted butter churn is admiral, to get the 3 points also is a great effort.
7. After reading  Alexs selfie question to himself "Do i think anyone from L1 or L2 is good enough for City? Obviously not" then its safe to say Mr. Bogle is not on our radar, nor any other player from those divisions. Should we ever drop down to L1 his view then may change of course.
8. Ive been saying since the window started we would likely sign no one. Alex and the City recruiting staff simply have not wisened up to facts. The writing was already on the wall to see when that forward Haller got as far as Colney, quickly looked around then turned away. So why are we persisting, looking at guys that are predominantly Dutch, or coming from clubs such as Sporting Lisbon and Ajax...to a struggling mid table Champs side with a training ground thats looks frankly...20 yrs past its sell by date, no matter that some pitches are ok ish.Delia and the board may have put their faith in Alex, but the clubs entire staff, Board and the rest, need to very quickly realise, in the space of 12 to 18 months our situation and outlook has shifted dramatically. Luckily we have 40 points, so we will plod on ungainly to May, at which time the summer period from June until end of August transfer window will be a huge time of  upheaval...i foresaw this  coming as early as Jan. 16, i warned then that Summer 17 would be a critical timeAlex...City...wisen up..stop looking abroad..we are a struggling mid table at best Champs side with ropey training ground,,attract players from the lower leagues here..you havent the time to mess around in Europe, even  improved wages for Euro  guys is not enough now. As for the LB saga...sending Toffolo out on loan to Scunny now looks a very silly move indeed.
9. Alex should have negotiated with Mitchell Dijks halfway up Ketts Hill, maybe then he might have agreed terms.
10. With just 5 days left, it may be that we  will have to wait until the summer to get the cover we need, i guess Whitts is the only happy man about a player turning us down. The Brady situation is still not finalised yet so,,,it remains...1 senior player gone...zero new senior players in...talk about a quiet January transfer window. Alex talked about a domino effect, but so far does not look like happening.
11. If Brady does actually leave, its certainly interesting that City could be replacing him and Olsson with a double Dutch signing, one a LB/CD, the other a LB/WH, i will call them Ziggy and Dixie, AN would seem to have nicely covered the departures, but of course its all a long way from being official yet. Two Dutchmen, called Marvin and Mitchell...cant get my head around that...
12. Despite all thats been said, or not said, as things stand, from Alexs viewpoint, we may just sign nobody new this window. As of now, only Olsson has gone, and i would not be surprised at all if Alex goes with Brady as LB  and Whitts as back up. As each day goes by, the likelihood of Brady going diminishes, hes turned down Sunderland apparently, not wanting a 3rd relegation, Bruce has said Villa cannot match Citys valuation in any terms, Burnley do not seem near meeting Citys valuation or any other club said Alex a couple days ago.Canos may well be the 2nd to leave, but again, Alex may just feel we  have enough at the club already for the remainder of the season. Thinking on these things, would not surprise me then if we go with what we have.
13. Really dont understand what all the whys and wherefores concerning Canos are being aired here, when the situation is  simple to understand...its just a question of money, nothing else. Alex  could not have been more clear, every single player at the club  has a price upon which City value them, so if any club meet that valuation on any player, then negotiations can start.Brentford obviously rate Canos highly, will soon have a  very nice nest egg from their sale of Hogan, and if...if, they meet Citys valuation , then its a goer. So this is nothing to do with how good or not good Canos is, what Alex thinks of him, or anything else...its business...its money..nothing to do with  the guy and his footballing merits.
14. I said this elsewhere but, Win 10  Draw 5 Lose 4 from the last 19 games, would give City 75 points, enough nearly every season for a 5th or 6th place finish. You would have thought our squad was well capable of achieving that modest to decent amount of points needed, but such is our contrary form, i would not even give us a 50/50 chance of doing that.
15.
Starting to feel like Sansa Stark when she''s stuck against her will in King''s Landing and about to marry Joffrey. ''''I have complete and utter faith in Alex Neil as the manager to take us forwards and into the play offs''''
Bizarre thing is, while City continue to play like a bog standard average mid table Champs side, a position ive felt they would finish up at, they are still doing enough to keep the play offs in sight. Historically, 70-75 points will get you into the top 6. With 19 to play..Win 10 Draw 5 Lose 4..which should not be beyond a squad City have..would give City 75 points and enough for a shot at Wembley again. In all honesty, results and performances this season do not merit us being anywhere near top 6, but its not just our club thats contrary, apart from the top two this whole division has the same symptoms as City.
16.
Left backs are from 10 a penny, and merely half-decent left backs are a very rare breed indeed.  We may well sign ''a left back'', I just hope and pray it''s someone approaching the standard of OlssonIf the Daily Mail are to be believed, the replacement could be 28 yr old James Meredith, Bradord left back, never played above L1, 2 caps for Australia. A right cheap replacement no doubt.
17. I  said start of the season mid table 8th to 12th was a true realistic position for City and so its proving. Have thought AN should have been sacked months ago, ever since Southampton away at start of the Prem season i could see that City disease in the team, mainly in defence, with the same old faces still here. Its 2017, i just cannot fathom how Whittaker, Turner, Martin and Bassong are STILL all at the club, Alex has had more than enough time to move on at least some of those guys. The one credit i would give to Alex is bringing in some  smashing young players  like Canos, Maddison, Pritchad etc but,,,he hasnt a clue what to do with them! Week in, week out, he has not a clue what to do, and now hes lost  the vast majority of the fans, times up.Says it all for me that we had Olsson, Brady and Toffolo as all possible LB position, yet somehow Alex manages to end up with Whittaker there, add the fact that a club so knee deep in midfielders is suddenly looking threadbare even in that department..says it all for me. Delia, Michael, Jez, whoever does it...wield the axe now!
18. Completely agree with Canary King, Olsson out, Brady likely also, with no one joining. Combine the asking price for new players which Alex has already said is ludicrous, with the usual long time it takes our club to negotiate transfers and January will be long gone before City can finalise any deals. Before season ends, can see a scenario where Klose and Pinto are both out thru injury, suspension or something, and we have  Martin, Bennett, Bassong and Whitts as our back four, with Turner on bench. Bennett gets injury  in the match, on comes Turner. Say no more...
19. Average Championship side..depends wether you mean financially, or the results on the pitch side of things, or the whole club in general. If you be realistic, and take the whole thing, we are probable a lower to mid table Champs side, in which case a mid table finish at end of season would be a decent and reasonable result for a club such as ours.Financially, talking in just terms of ownership riches. we are now in the lower half of the Champs, and within next season or two, with more clubs getting rich foreign owners, we will be akin to a L1 outfit. I dont say this in a derogatory way, purely in a realistic fashion. Right now we are fast becoming more like the Rotherhams of this world. We dont have anywhere near the riches of the Wolves, Birmingham, QPR type clubs, and they are considered average in this division.Yes we are downsizing out of necessity, being in the Prem. may now be a long term dream, our future may give us a history more akin to our neighbours long 15 yrs in this division, it is what it is. Just like Cantiaci, im not bitter about this, if you love your local team, you love them despite whatever division they  find themselves in. As for Delia and Michael, whom fans deride so often for being unambitious, i say keep at it, as long as you can, to keep our club just alive, never mind anything else. Football these days is ridiculously uneven competitively, and the record they have over the years supporting our club and the punching above our weight factor has been huge. OTBC.
20. I doubt McCormack himself would even consider coming here , even if both clubs agreed a swap, as he would definitely be facing a big wage cut, and also he made much about how Villa were the club he wanted to be at when he signed for them. He will likely dig his heels in and refuse to move.Last summer seems a long time ago, and Alex''s need for RM is likely much lower now than it was then.
21. Can see this being a very quiet window, maybe Brady going for 12 mill, but with Hull grabbing 3 mill of that in sell on fees, will leave City with 9 mill. Maybe a new striker will come in, but thats about it, cannot see any new defenders joining, maybe 1 more midfielder if Alex considers we are a bit thin thru injuries / international duties etc.Basically be relying on what we have already got, minus Brady, and possibly Jacob as outside bet.
22. Credit to the whole team, and the manager today, no negatives from me, just infuriating to see and know we;ve players who could and should be doing this to teams week in week out. One snowflake does''nt make a winter. but this warmed the cockles on a cold January day. Have we really found a decent goal scorer at last in Oliveira?..Well done City, and ty Ricardo.
23. The future started last year early in the Premiership, retaining the Whittakers and Martins etc. As early in the season as Southampton away i could see the way we were headed, the Newcastle away game really cemented that imo.  But the main reason i always expected us to return to a mid table Champs side was not the players but the manager. Alex had enough newness and grit inside him to motivate the side to Wembley and promotion in those first 6 months, but ever since, we have seen him struggle, totally inept at finding a right formation and a regular starting 11, a situation that has continued thru nearly all of last season and now halfway thru this season. We will now see the breakup of the team, yes, season after season of mid table Champs football,  reality hits home when we realise we are joining our cousins in treading their path. AN has to go, sooner or later, and will, but the story is already written, we are here, and here is where we will be for the forseeable future, no matter what new manager we get in.But i knew this would happen so not so glum, we''ve found our natural position. Would only be really despondent if we went down again to L1 and the club once again found themselves in dire straights financially, something which is not, at this moment in time, not looking likely.
24. And now to be joined by her mom just 24 hours on. Ah, Debbie Reynolds was wonderful in that fabulous movie Singin'' In The Rain. Just 2 more days of this so sad celebrity death ridden year of 2016 left, thank goodness. In a year when so many well known faces passed on, its good to remember Olivia De Haviland and Kirk Douglas managed to get to 100, so bravo to them
