BW 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Exceptional player who will play even less next season if he stays at city. Could we get him? Could we afford him?
Barking Mad Barclay Boy 13 Posted May 27, 2012 are you off your rocket? he would cost an absolute bomb.
BW 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Why though he is not needed at city i think a cheeky 5m bid and we could get him
bringbackandyhughes 0 Posted May 27, 2012 how do you propose paying him the 60k a week he is on at Man City? Please be realistic.
BW 0 Posted May 27, 2012 He would have to have a paycut but surely he wants to play football? To increase his own chances for england and to become the star he has the potential to be. Sometimes to moves forward you have to take a few steps back.
bringbackandyhughes 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Would you honestly take a paycut from 60k a week to 20k a week maximum? The simply answer is no. This type of player is way out of our league financially and you are deluded if you don''t realise this. We are not going to go down the route of Ipswich, Pompey, etc who spent way over what they could afford and destroyed their clubs in the process.Get a grip. BW 0 Posted May 27, 2012 I would be happy with 20k a week myself
bringbackandyhughes 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Not if your currently on 60k a week.
Phyxius 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Would you be happy to lose 60% of your income just to get regular playing time?
Unhinged Canary 375 Posted May 27, 2012 Depends on whether you truly want to do what you''ve worked so hard to achieve, or you just want to be another money-grabbing **** kicking your heels on the bench every week. None of us know the answer, as we''re not in that position. Food for thought though.......
Mahogany 0 Posted May 27, 2012 I doubt he''d have trouble finding another team to pay him £60k a week that would give him more playing time.
BW 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Comon where''s your ambition guys? This is the type of player we need to get to move towards european places
shiplee15 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Firstly, he wouldn''t take that big of a wage cut. Just wouldn''t happen in this day and age.Secondly, you have to remember that he is English. Due to quality English players being so rare and with the home grown rules and all that stuff, there is a bigger premium on them PLUS the cost for their current ability and their potential. That''s why Henderson cost Liverpool however many million (16 or 18?) and Carroll 35 (though deadline day also helped that). The fee for him when signed by MCFC was around 7 million. Now, after more development, being praised by the top pundits, plus the fact he will go on to be an England player he would cost in the region of 15-25 million in this inflated market. No chance in hell of us affording him. There is outside chance we could get him on loan but MCFC would still have to pay a fair whack of his wages! Phyxius 0 Posted May 27, 2012 If it''s ambition you want why settle for just Adam Johnson? Micah Richards is being kept out of the Man City team and needs to prove a point after not being selected for England we should sign him also.Daniel Sturridge may be getting games here and there for Chelsea but with Drogba leaving and Chelsea on the lookout for replacement could he but relegated back to the bench? I''ll take him also.

Norwich or die tryin! 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Haha some fans are so deluded and out of touch with reality.
Yellowbeagle 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Maybe they''d accept a swap deal for Chris Martin while we are at it to save on the transfer fee.

kick it off 1,952 Posted May 27, 2012 This thread epitomises why you get so much grief on this board BW - you post utter nonsense and mental fantasies as reality. If you actually think we have a legitimate shot at signing Adam Johnson, then you need to get checked in at your nearest asylum immediately.
scrappy33 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Chelsea or Arsenal maybe, Norwich no.
Chip20 69 Posted May 27, 2012 BW is clearly on a wind up. Why are you all taking him so seriously?
Mister Chops 7 Posted May 27, 2012
Exceptional player who will play even less next season if he stays at city. Could we get him? Could we afford him?
I''d rather have Aguero or Yaya Toure. Imagine Holt and Aguero, it''d be like Bodie and Doyle or Batman and Robin.Yaya Toure might be an issue due to African Cup of Nations, but he would be an exceptional signing and would mean Pilks and Bennett could provide the width knowing we had solidity in the middle of the park.If we can''t get them then I quite like the look of Demba Ba, who''s fallen behind Cisse in the selection stakes at Newcastle. Steven Pienaar would also be a decent signing, perhaps Spurs would listen to a player plus cash deal for Marc Tierney?
Scooby 0 Posted May 27, 2012 Don''t need him, we have Pilks :-)

Lurd 0 Posted May 28, 2012 He only missed 12 prem games last season.Even if he did want to leave, we''d be behind Spurs, Fulham, Liverpool, Everton, WBA, Sunderland, not to mention plenty of overseas clubs who can all pay him more.

Norfolk Mustard 94 Posted May 29, 2012
It''s quite simple,WE HAVEN''T GOT THAT SORT OF MONEY!
No, but Man City certainly have!
