Barclay Trucker

Bentley GT reg UBY 7

Recommended Posts

Have just come round by the football ground on my way to Britvic Norwich and as I was sat opposite the Tyre place opposite Barclay end, a Black Bently GT convertible with a personalised plate UBY 7 palled into car park... The fella had shaven head, mid Twenties I''d say dressed rather casual....

Any ideas..??

Could be nothing I suppose

He could of bought an old one second hand and just put a personal plate on it to disguise it being a few years old. Would of saved himself a bit of cash then.

You serious? I doubt it, but £150k is nothing to a championship footballer, probably 15-20 weeks wages but over a 6 or 7 year career they will have millions saved up, unless they are gamblers or drinkers

Yes.

James Vaughan and Steve Morison would both have made around double that in signing on fees alone, and their agents probably made similar.

if he''s nearer 60 and has a car like that, he probably an agent then? Those sharks have pulled enough cash out of football.

Can''t believe I am arguing whether a number plate exists or not but it definitely does unless they are false plates I as followed the car for about 2 miles into the City this morning from the bypass to Carrow Road.

It does exist...

From mycarcheck.com -

The vehicle UBY7, a Bentley Continental Gtc Auto (Convertible), is on our database. To discover its history please continue.

I think given the evidence, I prefer not to trust you thanks all the same.

Anyway, how can anyone say definitively that a particular number plate does not exist?

Usain Bolt said the other day that he was good enough to play for man united!

Maybe it''s his initials followed by his favourite colour (yellow) and favourite playing position (7)

So despite having two seperate witnesses and the fact that you can type that into any registration check website (and gives the exact model of the car as the guys said) why should we ''trust you''?

Sorry, but posts like yours are truly idiotic.

Unfortunately, I can''t tell you who it is, my source works high up in the club and I could get them in trouble if it was leaked...

Thats what everyone else says anyway...

You have to pay for any further information by doing a HPI check which I don''t think includes any owner details.

I have to say though, typical footballer... big lumbering car with a huge engine and a huge price tag... no taste in cars whatsoever :(

[/quote]The normal signing on fee is 10% of the fee paid by the club so in Vaughan and Morison''s case 2.1 = 210 k 2.8 280k and the agent will see 10% of the players figure.

Very much depends on who the player is and who their agent is.

Many players will have a clause in their contracts meaning they will recieve around 10% of a transfer fee paid for them, they will then negotiate a seperate fee for signing - this is usually somewhere around 20%  - 30% of their yearly wage. Out of this money their agent will take a 10% cut (although increasingly agents are starting to get closer to 15%), on top of this the agent will negotiate a fee for themselves from the club buying the player usually a similar amount to the player''s signing on fee. These figures are generally added into the cost of signing a player when/if reported to the media.
