Brendo 0 Posted March 30, 2010 Just been looking on the web about it, and can''t find too much about it. Anyway just wanted some views from you guys of what happened and why? Was it just City fans causing trouble? Also, following on from this, do Norwich + Leicester have a rivalry now, or do they dislike us after this? Any info will be muchly appreciated. Cheers. The Walking Man 13 Posted March 30, 2010 Few people got sent down for fighting in the street I seem to recall. I wouldn''t say we have any sort of rivalry with them, I think this was more of a case of ringing one another up to arrange a ruck. Morons.
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,035 Posted March 30, 2010 Might be interesting at the Walkers'' next season !?
Canary_on_the Trent 0 Posted March 30, 2010 I was there but didn''t see the trouble in the City, we had a big following there that day, 3,500 i think and quite a few had been on the beers.Heard a few racist chants about Leicester at one point within the ground but not a lot else.Obviously a few P***ed up Norwich fans unhappy with the 4-0 defeat headed into the City for trouble. Dangles 0 Posted March 30, 2010 Doubt many Leicester fans even remember it tbh, certainly wouldn''t say we have a rivalry because of it, and as someone as already said, the trouble did start from a few racist chants from a few Norwich fans, and obviously a few pissed fans (in more way than one..) after we just beat you 4-0 just wanted a bit of trouble after the game and it got out of hand I guess. ncfcstar 342 Posted March 31, 2010 Arthur will tell you that the Norwich fans ''got lost'' on their way back to the train station. I will tell you that where they ended up in the City Centre is nowhere near the train station and they were definitely looking for trouble. I used to work at the Walkers, and the train station is signposted pretty well from the ground, and is not hard to find. They were looking for trouble, and they found it. Adam NCFC 0 Posted March 31, 2010 Went to Leicester the last 3 seasons running.. 1st, 1-0 win, Paul McVeigh goal [:D]2nd, 2-1 win, Earny penalty, somewhere in all of it [:P]3rd 4-0 loss, [:(] The first 2 games, were good and enjoyable, the 3rd game was a joke. Obviously we lost 4-0, but had Leicester fans lobbing coins at us, and 1 hit an old woman on the head, and she got carried off on a strecture.. I doubt it''s a rivalry, but people that are there won''t forget it.
Nuff Said 5,965 Posted March 31, 2010 I''m pretty sure it was a pre-arranged meet between two groups of so-called hard men, a fair distance from the ground, so it appears the football was secondary from a chance to prove who''s the biggest Neanderthal. Anything that happened at the ground was unrelated.
Beauseant 0 Posted March 31, 2010 The simple fact is that significant trouble at football matches is very rarely unilateral. Each side will always claim that the other started it/did more of it/did it to the more vulnerable, but the fact is that it usually takes two to tango. I saw some bad stuff from Leeds fans on Saturday but I''m not one eyed enough to say that some of our fans shouldn''t take a look at themselves as well.I suspect that what happened at Leicester fitted the same sort of pattern. Mr.Carrow 394 Posted March 31, 2010 We`ve actually had a bit of a rivalry with Leicester for quite a long time- just as we have one with other clubs who are (relatively) nearer like Forrest, Grimsby and the London clubs we`ve played most often such as Palace, QPR and W.Ham. More to do with big away supports annoying the locals than anything on the pitch though.
Blofield Canary 12 Posted March 31, 2010 Norwich and Leicester have been rivals since the 70''s. It was no surprise ther was trouble in Leicester to anyone who travelled by train. Norwich had a big turnout of lads that day looking for trouble and it was hardly a surprise it happened away from the ground. The Police were expecting it hence the large Police presence and even Police helicopter in the air after the game.
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted March 31, 2010 It goes back a long way. Mr Carrow and jbghost are obviously older posters who remember. The ages of those involved it will tell it''s own tale. It''s a result that the younger posters don''t understand it. Let''s hope it stays that way.

Smudger 0 Posted April 1, 2010 I remember it kicking off outside Filbert Street after a League Cup tie in 1988.I was only 14 at the time and it was pretty bad as the police kept us in the ground after the match and blocked off all of the streets before letting us out to walk up the road where a large number of Leicester louts had congregated at the end of it. TheNewBoy 0 Posted April 1, 2010 I feel the need to put a few things straight. Whilst I am not defending the actions of those found, rightfully, guilty of crimes in court..... I must point out that all of you who have stated that the violence was prearranged is 100% wrong. The judge involved in the case accepted and publicly revealed that those Norwich fans had left the game early to re-enter the away fans pub near to Leicester train station. The police then turned them away from the area, and forced them into Leicester City centre. The judge stated that the police should take a proportion of the blame for the trouble. ur just a man in a jacket 0 Posted April 1, 2010 What was the point of naming the people involved on a public forum and worst of all their addresses??? Agree shouldn''t be involved in football violence but that is out of order.

But I don''t see how it is out of order as it is on the internet somewhere fairly accessible anyway, so if you really wanted it you could find it. And just the Road isn''t that revealing.
