Carlisle v Leeds

Recommended Posts

Heartache and misery for the Leeds lads, given they were so close to Wembley.

Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing tonight, we will see in May!

Was rooting for Carlisle in the pens though!
Anyone notice one of the Leeds players being dragged off by other player and staff members at the end? Hard to know if he was angry with a) the pitch invasion, b) an opposition player or c) one of this own players!
I saw that. Replayed it a couple of times. I think he had been abused by some Carlisle young ''uns. Snigger

I think the main reason I''m pleased is that I would have been well up for a Leeds final at Wembley. Norwich vs Carlisle, lets be honest, not the same occasion.

Well the Sunday lunch time game will be the JPT Final of course!

On the Saturday Sky are showing Palace V Cardiff at 12.45.

Sky Website has details of their live games.

I''m pretty happy Carlisle are there, had Leeds have got there it would have been fairly galling knowing that we should/could have been there against them in a full Wembley.

Now that its Carlisle ,It''ll just be a non-event in a half full stadium - Mickey mouse competetion for two mickey mouse finalists.

hi all

leeds fan in peace again. V poor performance tonight and we got out of jail

We can''t be too down at this - out of 2 cups in 6 days and we can concentrate properly on catching you boys up!

We did look horrible tonight - but then we do most games to be fair. We have a very different style to norwich

Loads, the classic VW scene is huge in this country, could probably find a show almost every weekend somewhere. Most of big shows are in the summer which makes life easier for me as the missus can''t stand football but loves the shows.

...is that the Volksworld at Sandown Park, I guess there are others but this always seems to be a biggie and is about then? We live not far away, it is always good to see the Beetles/camper vans touring about.

Clicked on the last page of this thread and your talking about some VW rally? What? Sweet jesus. Anyway Carlisle won which i think i prefer, a loss is a loss and it can only dent the Leeds confidence.

...odd thing is that they actually won the game tonight, but to be defeated on pens must hurt more than losing over the 90mins would have done.

IMO a good result for us, am pleased we don''t have to move our match on 27 March.

I think on the contrary it will do us a lot of good...coming back to win a game from 2-1 down with 10 mins to go

Another positive is that it reinforces that the hapless Michalik should never play again for us!

But time will tell...v tough trip for us at Orient on saturday

Newcastle V Cardiff was not on TV! It was moved to the Friday on police advice because Sunderland were also at home on the Saturday.

Sky have already chosen their games for that weekend anyway. Football should be at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon!

It''s a pity that all of Leeds'' remaining fixtures are in the league, but I think that this defeat might be a problem for them at the weekend - if we win I think that we might find that we increase the gap. I was also a bit worried that if Leeds won the JPT it could improve their confidence for winning the title.

Carlisle United say they will investigate Leeds manager Simon

Grayson''s claims that his players were attacked by home fans at Brunton

Park.

Grayson says his players were struck during a pitch invasion after Tuesday''s

Johnstone''s Paint Trophy area final.

"Three of my players were caught by punches within the crowd, anything could

have happened," said Grayson.

Thats a shame.
Yeah - he also claims that his players had a laser pen shone at them when they were taking penalties and that his keeper had things thrown at him when Carlisle were.
