Players nicknames

Recommended Posts

Bit random this but i''m bored.

Pro Darts players tend to have a nickname in their names like Phil ''the power'' Taylor for example.

If all the city players had nicknames what would they be?

Over to you.

In Iwan''s book, Paul McVeigh is always referred to as Squiz for some reason. I call him that on here too occasionally but I''ve no idea what it means!

Neil Adams was shoes, dont know why. Chippy Crook is because he looks like Chippy Minton in Trumpton/Camberwick Green.

Butterworth was Spartacus, because of physique. Sutton was trigger.

Another ex-player who we''ll probably never see grace the '' Mastermind '' chair was Lee Croft.

Then of course there was Dion '' Tripod '' Dublin........who''d have guessed he was a keen photographer ?

I''m still surprised that no one has used Patches O''Houlihan (from Dodgeball) for our own Wes. It gets a giggle nearly everytime I say it in reference to Hoolahoop....honest.

(Neal Adam''s that is) also it''s rumored he turned up in Madrid with the team and asked where the beach was.  I shall e-mail Radio Norfolk and see if there''s any truth to the second and what Shoe''s is all about.  Maybe they will tell us on air tonight!!
