National express super guard 0 Posted July 20, 2008 croft is one player who gives his all for the club, skillful, just misses the end product but I''m sure he''s working on that. Bell would be a waste of money with crofty and chads here already. plus u seen semmy and crofty linking up? that looks threatening

Branston Pickle 4,169 Posted July 20, 2008 Not completely sure that we really need Bell, if this rumour is indeed true, as m/f was the one area on the pitch where we seemed to have enough depth (at least in terms of bodies) - but I guess the greater depth the better. Croft is certainly not great and IMO would not be a regular in a side hoping for promotion (not that this is necessarily us!). Yes he puts 100% in every game but often seems to take himself on when he dribbles it as he has no idea where its going, and to that you can add that his crossing and finishing is poor. Yella_Forever 0 Posted July 20, 2008 what they heck is wrong with you people?????? you moan when we sign nobody... we then sign a highly rated right sided midfielder and you all kick off the moaning and the complaining.....!!! just when will you stop......???competition leads to good performances... u need options in our division..... with our midfield we now have that!!!! and i''m for one... happy!!!! O.T.B.C 1 Posted July 20, 2008 People would have kicked a big fuss if we had been outbid or not offered a decent wage to him, Doncaster would have got a right pasting, so why can''t he and the board get some credit for it?I look forward to seeing him play for us. We have real genuine competition for midfield. Rusty, Patty, Fozzy, Clingfilm, Hoolahoop, Bell, Croft, Chadders, plus the yoots. Its pleasing.

BenNCFC 0 Posted July 20, 2008 Very good signing in my opinion. He''s skillfull and creative and scores goals. The fact that he''s been linked with a lot of clubs over the summer tells you all you need to know.

[/quote]i don''t think croft is that bad. infact for most of last season when he was on the bench when he came on he made a good impact on the game. he''s something we need a little more of .. players who go at defenders. theres players in our squad who deserve more critism than croft. Frying Pan Eyes 0 Posted July 20, 2008 If we can bring in some quality strikers, i believe we could score a lot of goals this season. We have a very good midfield now. O.T.B.C 1 Posted July 20, 2008 Ard, I didn''t know too much about him to be honest. I like the way he runs directly, but he does not have the final ball or the knowhow to score. I like his effort, but for a professional footballer, he should be a lot slimmer I say. Still would be handy to have aon the bench as he does link up well with Semmy. Kissthebadge 0 Posted July 20, 2008 I''m a bit baffled by those people posting that they''re not sure we need him. Why wouldn''t we need a talented young midfielder? While the left of midfield has been strong for some time with Hucks, the right of midfield has been neglected for years, making us very one dimensional (opposition think, shut down the left as there''s little danger from the right). I like Lee Croft and admire his effort, but as has been mentioned, quality of crosses are poor and crucially, goals scored almost non-existant. Also, Chadwick is not a right midfielder naturally and will always drift inside. Therefore, we only have Croft for that position. Now clearly Glenn doesn''t fancy him, which is one of the reasons we only played one winger so much last season. Glenn has seen an opportunity to strengthen that position and taken it. The fact Bell can play central midfield is a bonus too. Does it mean Croft is off? No, I don''t think so, as we would be back to only one specialist right-midfielder. Look at the many options on the left now and you see how unbalanced it is with the right. Well done for addressing the issue Glenn and it will be good to see at least two players battling it out for that position next season.

I''d take the guy but if we''re spending £600,000 on a right midfielder with what we already have then maybe our transfer budget is bigger then we think.
